  • good idea for a basic soup that you can doctor up.

  • @Catwoman501 Thank you. I love making it.

  • 11 dollars??? You can make this for 7 in California. Move over here and cook it for me!

  • @hollybilski I'm sure my wife would object. ;-) Besides, I love where I live (Ottawa).

  • you talk like an pilot . Are you a pilot??? xD

  • @lamisteri0sa ure comment was funnnyy! :))

  • @lamisteri0sa No, I'm not a pilot, but I did record the audio for the video in the middle of the night so I was using my "quiet" voice.

  • Maybe other soup ideas cause I watched other videos and tried cheddar broccoli n it wasn't dat good, when I did ur soup everyone thought it was great. Maybe even some Chinese recipes. Just ideas

  • out of all the videos on vegatable soup ive watched today, urs was the simplest straight to the point video, thank you for the insight, do you have any other meal that are health like this one

  • Thank you, @durancoley. I've been thinking about making some more videos - did you have something specific in mind?

  • 11$? Fresh vegetables are much cheaper.

  • @Anonymous595 Where I live (Ottawa, Canada) fresh vegetables are quite expensive to come by in the winter, so frozen ones are less expensive. However, in the summer, you are correct, fresh is much less expensive.

  • No herbs? No seasoning? No garlic? - Pretty low on flavour I should imagine

  • @merciasound Actually that's the point. By preparing the soup with no seasoning, herbs, etc, this makes the soup very versatile - even though we have several servings of the same soup, when preparing it for eating, we can add any combinations we want, making each meal taste different.

Variety is the spice of life, after all. ;-)

  • was ok and pretty easy until the blending part. btw, never knew it exists, blender ...haha

  • @MsLucky2BeMe Do you mean the hand blender? I didn't know they existed either until somewhat recently. *very* handy to have though.

  • what u dont need sock in it?

  • @darkspirtninja Do you mean stock - like chicken or beef stock - the answer is no, not unless you want to add it.

  • @darkspirtninja nah he means sock. you place some vegtables in a sock, place the sock in the boiling water for half an hour,,mmm the veg soaks up that socky taste.delicious. Try it out you wont regret it!

  • question- I heard that you should chill down food to 40 degrees before you place a lid on it in the fridge to prevent food born bacteria from growing, but I see you placed the lids on it when it was still hot and put it in the freezer?

  • @fmbighair By placing it in the freezer straight away, it rapidly cools the soup minimizing the time available for bacteria to grow. Now, really, it's not a huge concern to me anyway - it's all vegetables, which have boiled, so dangerous bacteria should be at a minimum.

  • i'll try this for my weight loss diet ^_^ thanks!

  • I will try this soup but with sweet potato and some seasoning. Thanks for this Vid it's a great place to start.

  • @debalynz It's quite yummy with sweet potatoes too.

  • There are no spices or flavoring in this soup. Must be very healthy and bland.

  • @seagullsbeauty The idea of the soup is that it's a healthy place to start - you can add whatever you like to it.

  • it loos like prison food

  • LOL Prison foood you made me laugh!!!

  • I like this recipe! I'll have to try it! Can you make some more cooking vids? THX!

  • I'll see what I can do. I guess I'll have to come up with something else. ;-)

  • Very Easy to make but tasteless im afraid - just my opinion - even after seasoning with salt and pepper. Atleast u have shown a clean cut way to make soup and we can use it as a base to make a tastier dish.

  • it looks really good! cheap and easy...but what do you do if you dont have a hand blender??

  • You could use a regular blender, but do be careful because the soup will be very hot. If you don't have any kind of blender, you could use a potatoe masher - I've never tried it, but it *should* work.

  • Looks great! I'm definitely gonna try that.

  • looks really good and i enjoyed your sexy voice too! lol

  • Thanks both of you for the comments! The soup is a hugh time-saver, and is healthy!

  • i would not smash the veggies and potatoes .. it looks more colorful

  • That would also work.. Or you can add more fresh veggies after the fact.

  • Wow nice one

    thnx:)

  • wow this was quick and so easy.. i cdnt find even one easy video for a simple veg soup startin with easy steps like water and potatoes..here on youtube.. until i saw this :) thanks !
