  • what drivers are you using in your internet adapters?

  • can you give me some tips where can i install the vista because it has a 4 partitions and it says i cant use those hard disk. pls help me anyone:(

  • @kuyajhet DON'T INSTALL VISTA xp is a LOT better for netbooks. in fact, xp is probably better than vista for ALL computers

  • @cabbageboy101 I had more problems with XP than vista. First, vista takes advantage of multiple logical processors, therefore a single core atom with hyperthreading performs like a straight-up single core in XP whereas vista takes advantage of the virtual core, aiding in performance. Also xp is guaranteed to get a virus no matter what. Vista is much better for security. Finally, if you run 32 bit in basic theme and disable unnecessary services, it will run much better.

  • @psychoclown420 yes but there are so many unnecessary processes and "services" that it really prevents the computer from running at it's full potential. and yes, vista is much better for security, but you're much better off just disabling all of the security services and installing free antivirus software (like avast. avast provides real-time shields that scan every single file that you open and program that you run). so on a large scale, if you install that in xp, it would be better than vista

  • @cabbageboy101 What i'm trying to say is that xp is an ancient obsolete OS with tons of security loopholes and problems. I always had programs Not Responding in xp, but never with vista. Vista used way more ram, but 1gb was enough to get by with aero disabled. And i had the ultimate version installed, home basic or home premium would run a lot better. Microsoft doesn't even support xp, but they still support vista and 7. In the end, just use 7

  • @psychoclown420 um ok but you didn't even mention windows 7. anyway ya ur right

  • If the computer came with xp and you upgraded to vista, you're StUpaAd

  • LMAO 900 Mhz?

  • What??????????????

Don´t install vista on a neetbok, windows 7 starter, I will start to think, but vistaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

I recomend to you to install or windows xp or the factory OS or windows fundamentals if you´re laptop don´t have got many requierements.

  • @quinillo94 The vid was shot way before windows 7 was released. True, Vista too heavy for that machine (seems it's the eepc 900). But the factory OS? If it's that crappy Xandros linux Asus installed on those early eee's... definitely NOT!!! It f****** sucks!!!! Either XP or a SERIOUS linux distro (XANDROS= toy linux).

  • Virus

    Interupted

    Spyware

    Trojan Horses

    Adware

you putt all the fist letter together and you get: VISTA =D

  • @LimburgerVinny I think you mean intruders, not interupted

  • @LimburgerVinny ahhaaa nice but werdd im running on xp i downgraded from vista and that shit gave me MAD viruses

  • than you have downloaded a XP version that SUCKS! and has Virusses in it.

i use XP from Pliek, and englisch versions from Benjamin.

    those are allways good.

  • i have it running on my eee pc perfectly, with no lag and it has better power management than xp. i prefer vista over xp. it's easier to use and makes things easier for you.

  • can you enable aero on eee pc?

  • LOL 900mhz

  • my eeepc shld run it ok @ 1.60ghz atom, 1gb ram, 160gb hdd

  • Windows 7

  • What are bat trees?

    What's Line ex?

    What's Vister?

    :)

  • the more ram you have for vista the better,if you are able to get 2-4 gigs of ram it will be alot better you will see

  • Awful, I hate the EEEPC I hate netbooks.

You would get so mutch more spending 100 or 200$ more and getting a vostro 1310 e.G. 13,1" is just perfect i mean you can run a dualcore in it and a real 3D card and big amounts of ram and a "real" ssd harddrive if you want. Its worlds between those two i see no real use for those i mean i have a precision notebook and its great to work with it but with sutch a little tiny powerless thing it would be awful and take two times the time.

  • figured, your a mac fanboy meaning you hate windows/linux and your opinion doesn't matter about them operating systems, i doubt you even knew how to set it up properly, and assumed it sucks because you didn't have the knowledge of how to use it

  • why should a mac fanboy hate linux OSX is based on a UNIX derivate.

However I'm not i was that but long ago i am a fanboy of sub notebooks thats all and i simply think that a Netbook isn't realy useful. I mean i think its not a productive concept and for what its ment to be used for it's overpriced.

And yes Vista on it is totally useless i would rahter text a beta of Windows 7

  • your an idiot you clearly don't know what these types of computers are for, they are not for gaming\3d graphics\intensive programs

they are for basic internet use, email, and doing work on them and designed to be affordable

you don't need massive amounts of ram / computer power to do them tasks

Vista is fine if you know how to use it same with any operating system, their is no best, its what you want to use it for and what you like to use as a person

  • I'm not talking about 3D gaming i'm talking about cad use or photoshop.

A raw-file picture can have 100mb and more how should a machine like that handel sutch files beeing overworked in photoshop i had .psd files with 200-300mb and more it's impossible.

And Vista is simply not designed for sutch a machine it might work ok but shurely not as good as other systems might. I see no singel use of a netbook where you need to have vista tell me please is this doubt so dumb ?

  • obviously Vista is not designed for netbooks, and netbooks are not designed for photoshop mate

they are simply web surfing, email, and word documents

they are not designed to be holding terabytes of data running photoshop, multi media stuff etc just basic use

thats why Microsoft have a slim downed version of Windows XP for net books

Windows 7 has been designed for net books as well as Desktops, and is the next version of windows to replace Vista

but their is nothing wrong with using Vista

  • Might be but i just said that i dislike netbooks because they arend powerfull enough for business aplications and that vista was only making that worse that was my point. Thats also the reason why I was takling about subnotebooks.

So I was mentioning Windows 7 witch would give you some lets say "real" advantages compared to XP and would work way faster then Vista even beeing not for retail currently.

  • obviously they are not for business applications they are for basic use thats all

as i have said many times, thats all netbooks are for, if you want to run business stuff buy a proper laptop

  • I'd also like to mention that these thigns can play fear and hl2..

  • who cares about games ...

  • those who play games? As a photographer the EEE edits my raw files in photoshop fine.

  • well said will

  • well u have know i dear what people like to do with there free time some people like challenging manufactures system with games and os ur just a nob

  • great video, i think you should be using Vista Classic theme instead of the basic, sure it looks bad but less tress on your onboard graphics card

  • whoops typo their

meant to type Stress not tress

  • why the fuck would put vista on a computer???

  • cuz its good?

  • i have the eeepc 1000 and i have vista ultimate running without lag, plus its only using 300-400 mb of ram. use vlite.

  • Ummm you should have Used the Vista DVD

    and USB DVD Drive

  • Unfortunately no-one likes vista

  • speak for yourself

  • Vista was a major fuck up for M$, everyone except you knows that. That's why M$ is doing Windoze 7.

  • alright. then can you explain to me why i get ~5 more fps in gta4 using vista?

  • One game on Vista? Let's look at the whole kit and kaboodle.

  • that was an example. the whole thing runs better.

  • Really? Well you must be an exception. My step son's HP computer continually uses swap with in Vista with 1 gig of RAM.

  • maybe i am an exception, i dont know. it would be fine with 2gigs or more of ram. i have 3gigs. 60% free at the moment.

a few weeks ago a guy said that his vista was taking around 13 minutes to fully boot. i had to make a video to prove him mine takes only ~40 secs. anyways, im fine with vista. no complaints about performance.

  • Vista is a fat pig of an operating system takes 4 times more memory than os x... Takes forever to grab an internet connection... comes in a billion versions (from crippled to junkware loaded)... full vista is $200 more than full os x... Vista is less stable, is more susceptible to viruses (not vistas fault but that is still a problem)... vista was screwy with scanners and faxes when it first came out, pissed me off a lot...

OH BUT IT CAN PLAY GAMES....

BUY AN FRICKING XBOX not a vista pc

  • i can use internet right after it boots up. i didnt paid for it and i dont care if its pirated. mine is rock solid and havent got any viruses yet. play games as fine as xp.

    and console is for fags.

  • Wow your an idiot...

  • lol...

  • everyone except you knows that Vista is awesome, you stupid noob

    (message to Antiks72)

  • are you serious... you obviously don't realize what most people think about vista...

  • the normal people, don't like changes to their computer, so thats why they don't upgrade, how ever most tech enthusiasts upgrade to vista in a heart beat, unless your stupid and blindly become a fanboy of an operating system or company, then you hate anything that's not the operating system or company you like no matter what others say

  • No... unfortunately society tells people to get the latest (which they assume to be the best)... I was a windows user with xp, but after vista was released, I hated it.... chrashes.... unable to use alot of new hard ware (video cards... SCREEN.... scanner....) and Vista was made prematurly. After that i got my 1st mac, and loved it, it works without any problem, although os x has some issues, they are DEFINETLY much less then vista, and i found os x apps to replace vista apps that i needed.

  • unfortunately it's very slow :-(

  • Windows is slow period.

  • Blue H1 notebook is better...you should try it.. eee pc only works well with linux linpus. and its Proven!

  • thats damn cruel, poor eee :(

  • more like crawling than running, lol

  • vista runs flawlesly on my moms POS dell

    256 ram

    1.2 CPU

  • Your joking right?

  • hahah nope :)

i can actually get you the exact specs if you wanna

    no lag no crappy fps

and its a 1.2 single core cpu with 256mb ram ...standard cheap ass dell notebook built ...to run xp...and surf the net...it cant do anything more than that...with or without xp. but it seems to run vista perfectly with no tweaks

  • what kind of windows vista you install

im installing windows vista ultimate on my acer extensa 2300 and its works fine too

    my acer extensa spec:

    1,5 ghz pentium M

    512MB OF RAM

    INTEL 82855

    80gb harddisk

  • home premium :)

  • youre using 1,2ghz core2duo right?:)

    btw is the aero working?

coz its dont work on mine

  • no dude...cheap ass laptop single core 1.2

aero doesnt run since the laptop has 64mb of video.

  • I Have Vista Ultimate On the Eee PC

All u need is a copy of The Costum Windows Vista No LAG

    =)

  • To get the FN-Hotkeys working under Vista and to get rid of the error messages that VGA and/or Audio drivers are not installed please search for the Video How To "EEE 1000H Vista ACPI Fix" :-)

  • this runs suprisingly faster than what i thought it would

  • Why not put a elephant inside eee??? I'd love to see that instead!

  • They did! Windows Vista is an elephant operating system.

  • I can't get the full desktop, so I'm probably going to install xp on my 701.

  • Hi if your still willing ill help you get Full Desktop??

  • I've got it now. Thanks though.

  • commond promp... lol

  • I'm not sure whether it's rreally Vista, because the Start button is cut-off at the top

  • it isn't cut off at the top

  • go figure the british person visiting the bbc website (just saying, im not surprised couldnt use google?)

and i think hes using the eee pc 700

  • Which EEE PC is this?

  • I think 700...

  • its probably the 4gb surf

  • Why on earth do people put (Windows) Vista on those netbooks? Such a waste of ressources! Linux is the far better choice on those machines. Cheap, low hardware requirements, highly configurable, no virus/spyware/etc... It's ok to test if Windows is actually capable of running on those machines, but why would someone want to work with that OS on a netbook? People are strange...

  • Probably because Windows has a massive software library. Not bashing linux though (I use both).

  • when i get my eee pc im gunna keep linux on the 4gb built in memort n put windows vista or xp on a 8gb memory stick n boot from there =P

  • it so slow !!! you don't need vista ! xp will work perfect than !

  • shitefox is crap and so is vista.

  • Ohh.... i installed Windows 2000 SP4 on it! And its better than XP and Vista, coz its run now reeealy FAST, and you can install all the programs and games that runs on XP, eee pc got a slow CPU, and win2000 great on it! win2000 just like winXP, but with Classic theme, but really faster

  • i think when you put 2gb ram into the eeepc and install vista home basic on it, it would be ok.

  • why home basic when u have 2gb ram?

  • Cuz Basic need at least 800 Mhz CPU. Home premimum and up need 1 Ghz atleast. EEE processor is only 900 Mhz. Get it?

  • eee pc 901 has 1.6 Ghz

  • Really? Wow! I got to get with the times...

  • His is a 900 mhz.. you can see some of the specs in the video..

  • because his eee pc is not the 901 version !

  • oh..

    tahnx for that!

  • but why the video says..

    it has home premium??

  • That was great. Thanks very much for sharing your expertise.

  • EEEK

  • Im thinking of getting a eeepc but i want xp on it

how easy is it to install?

    Do some shops install it?

    Im in uk

  • does vista have some kind of software raid? that would really help well on xp it would

  • Such a waste... ruin that cute little Eee with vista when it works so good with Linux :)

  • firefox: only the good thing in this pc

  • Vista must run on this pc very slow!!! Linux is even better.

  • @thomickcz Obviously LInux would run better, even the latest version of Linux can run on a 486, not fast, but will run.

  • You can upgrade these to 2GB of RAM. And why would anyone want Vista?

  • i thought you needed 1 gb of ram to run vista WTF

  • thats reccomended, you can run it with 512 though.

  • welldone mate, must have taken quite an effort to get that working ok. nice experiment! i wouldn't personally do it, not a big fan of Vista.

I'll be putting ubuntu with compiz fusion on mine, dual booting with xp for games. :-)

  • lol base score is 1.0

  • probably due to graphics mostly...

  • of course,and intel on 900 MHz,factory underclocked to 630 MHz

  • ....there is that... I kind of realised that the base score was probably because of everything just after I posted my first comment :P .

  • i don't know...maybe he just installed vista for showing us on youtube,it's almost impossible to work on vista installed on EEE,anyway,do you have EEE?i should get my eee tomorrow and i have some questions?

  • Not yet, I am planning on getting the EEE 900 when it comes out, I am still kind of choosing between the 701 or the 900, edging towards the latter.

  • i suggest you to take 701 model because 900 is going to be more than $500

  • I am working in GBP and its £329 over here. I'm ok with that...

  • thats based of lowest score

  • yep,but lowest score is always gaming graphics performance, and 1.0 is minimum score for solitaire and other card games,so vista will work pretty shitty on asus eee,but XP will run great

  • no, it got a one for low resolution, it would be the same score if xp had a scoring system aswell. but I hate vista, it will work shitty on ANYTHING. lol

  • of course not,you can run xp on 300 MHz processor,128MB of RAM and 2 GB HDD,and vista on 1GHz,1GB of RAM and 15GB HDD,but if you have good PC,let's say AMD phenom,4GB RAM and 8800GTX,vista will literally fly on that PC

  • i would never install vista on it, it makes it sooooooo slow.... just stick with linux or xp.

  • it's very stupid!

  • It lags.. I think use Linux is faster.

  • Zzzzzzz...

  • This is real vista, not VTP or other shellpacks, it's obviously shows vista system properties not like in xp system properties...well it could be possible to install vista in EEE but without aero...

  • It's just XP with a Vista Inspirat theme... thats what i did when i had my xp pc. how bout you boot it up on vista???

  • This british cocksucker probably works for Bill ,suck my cock, gates. please save your money and either get a MAC or get a free OS like Ubuntu.

  • Maybe if you were not a dumbshit. We would actually listen to you, ever think that some people DON'T LIKE MACS. Plus why would you think he works for Bill? Because he knows a lot of computer jargon? We'll news flash, maybe if you didn't own a mac you wouldn't be so dumb.

  • ahaha are you fucking serious?! save money getting a MAC! they cost like several hundred dollars more than a pc with the sane specs, and you can save EVEN MORE money by constructing you on PC! save some money and avoid macs everyone!

  • Yeah....... Thats what he said......

  • Use Ubuntu man.

  • "It's running at 630Mhz for some reason." They are factory underclocked and you need to increase the FSB in order to actually run it at the advertised 900Mhz. There are a number of ways to do this depending on the operating system you're running. But since you've chosen Vista, I guess you're up shit creek ;P

  • That must have been insane to install and boot. A NORMAL PC has trouble running vista, let alone a micro-laptop.

  • even the new high end computers have problems running vista, it seems that the OS was unfinished. Also not alot of us have 2 grand to burn on a new computer.

  • just type in google:

vista transformation pack, then u can easy find what u need

  • this is xp with vista transformation pack xD i see that start button round is not fully round

  • your right

    had this pack myself ^^

  • it is vista

at this video the start button only looks not fully round because the color of the top of the button is white

you can see that the button is fully round when he change the resolution

  • This is windows vista home premium with aero turned off. Trust me I have xp with VTP and vista ultimate (on separate computers) VTP doesn't have the same about windows screen.

(I know it's home premium cause if you go to the link in the description it has better quality and you can read it)

  • I don't know about vista.I wanted to wait to get it until it all worked good but one of the guys from the Geek squad at Best Buys told me that Best Buy wouldn't be selling anymore machines with xp on them anymore just Vista. I'm not buying that his info was correct though with so many xp users out there

  • lol, wow style xp!

  • what type did you ues

  • how did you install

  • Wow. I didn't know it could handle Vista. Even if it is a water down version. I have Linux on mine, which is 10x better than Vista.

  • that one is vista, i've tried all kinds of transformation packs from diff sources.. and they do have round "pearl buttons" (start buttons doesn't exist in vista you moron)my point is never judge a transformation pack from start buttons.

i also can tell that he's running a real vista coz im running one right now.

the only reason why he can run vista on an EEE PC is because he's using a low hardware demand OS which is Vista Home Premium.

it has a "near" Sytem requirements list with windows XP.

  • why would anyone want vista on anything

  • i actually have to agree with him, at least until vista SP1

  • Whats the difference between SP1 and without SP1 ive installed the beta SP1 and theres no difference vista is pretty bad and will stay bad. Id say stick to XP not worth the upgrade lol.

  • Lol, what sound reasoning. And flying in the face of 5:30 contrary video evidence where every other screen shows that it is clearly Vista. Your parents must be proud.

Oh, right... And you can choose whether to have a round start button in Vista. It's an option. So the lack of one is hardly evidence of a non-Vista OS. Good try though. :P

  • thats the vista start button, obviously youre still running 98

  • wat????

  • sarcasm isnt your strong suit is it?

  • well, no need to get offensive, tsk tsk, another troll, good day

  • Vista suck

  • Plus for the opinion, but minus for the grammar.

  • thats not a final vista release, i dont know which one it is, but it looks like RC1...

  • why would anyone want to run vista at all?

xp works fine, and wistamizer can give the looks for like 20mb ram..

  • Mhm, you really should put there minimum 1GB of RAM ;]

  • lol i have a copy of vista ultimate that is only

2.5 gb i could run vista ultimate on this lol

  • u rebooted ure rooster!

  • Vista sucks whats the point, I have windows 2000 on my eee pc it runs twice as fast as xp does on it and uses half the space! (1gb), I realy recommend windows 2000 to use on your eee pc! just download the drivers off intels website and your off! XD

  • Bonne chance, bandes de suicidaires !

  • bob. good luck with 512mb ram-.-

  • lol lol

  • noobs on parade...

  • Try vista lite. It only needs 256mb ram to run it flys on 512.

  • Where do you get that? I've googled it with no success. Could you give me a URL??
