  • Dude, I love your bike...it looks like you have owned this for almost 2 years now...how is everything with it so far? Problems/issues wise....

I don't own a bike yet, but I really want one, and this is probably what I would start with; but knowing myself, I will ride as much as the weather permits here in Canada...never really had an eye for cruisers/factory customs until the iron883 so unfortunately, much of my knowledge of HD's include many a tale of high maintenance costs and headaches......

  • @ShutYamouwf I've been going over all the comments on my video. I have since flipped the mirrors down and love it.

  • fuck that rubbers above the front wheel!!!

    it's a harley

it is supposed to carry two tones of chrome

  • I'm just learning about bikes and I've just started following this one, What did you do to get yours to sound like this ?

  • @AJMurdock23 Just threw on a set of Vance and Hines Shortshots pipes.

  • hermosa HD

  • Very nice! How much was everything?

  • sounds sooo nice, real growl....thanks for posting

  • is that the sound with quite baffle?

what brand is your air cleaner? is that the normal one?

  • @tatsuawano That's the stock air cleaner in this video. And no baffles.

  • that thing is bad ass brotha. How does she handle and is it pretty fast?

  • She handles great, and pletny fast for my style. Not as quick as some sport bikes but she'll hit triple digits.

  • @jmcoe86 not as fast as some sport bikes? you mean 1000s right? im sure it could smash a 600 or 750. not off the line of course. but in the long run- yea?

  • idk i have a feeling a 600 such as a yamaha r6 would beat it.. i mean i realy donk know but i always thought of harleys as just like american raw power ...and sport bikes for refined super high rpms and just meant to be quick.

  • @bl00mz No. A 600 racing class bike would destroy this bike in terms of speed (in all categories) but they're two different animals. This bike wasn't built to compete on a race track. Maybe smash a 600 or 750 in the long run- as in, the Harley will out live the race bike.

  • @bl00mz not even close.. LOL. Any 600 cc sport bike would demolish this 883 in every concievable way when it comes to speed or acceleration or handling.

  • @ollustration

I have a Haeley 883 and yes I do agree with yyou this bike wont beat any sport bike but it is a nice ride and it looks really good .....Can you agree with that?

  • i just got my insurance priced out since i'm just getting my license .... this is the bike i'm buying and just wondering if the pipes are tooooo loud while driving in city?

    thanks

  • @1bojanbojan There is no such thing as too loud of pipes. Loud pipes save lives!

  • @phideltpowder Very true, loud pipes indeed save lives.

  • I'm really looking into buying one of these, the only problem is the solo seat. I've heard a few things, but i'm not really sure, can you do anything about the seat and suspensions to carry a passenger?

  • The seat is easily replaced with a two person seat, and the suspension is adjustable. All you would need are the passeger foot pegs.

  • Just had mine installed on the 1200 and this video is pretty accurate with the sound quality. In person though, they are a bit deeper in tone. GREAT pipes...

  • how is the seat...is it comfortable and have you gone on long rides say like 4 to7 hrs on it.???

  • I haven't done any rides that long yet, I've done like 2 hrs stop and eat, and 2 hrs back. That wasn't too bad. I can't imagine it would feel very good after 7 hrs tho.

  • @jmcoe86

    Would an bike?

  • this is the bike i want, i like the "all black" mad max look

  • To all the new riders or soon to be riders, I sugest you pick up some of the custom motorcycle magazines and read about what some of the builders are doing. HOT BIKE, AMERICAN IRON, THE HORSE BACK STREET CHOPPERS, EASYRIDERS, ect. to name a few. They all have websites...look"em up for inspiration...and education.

  • what is the top speed of the stock 883 with the screamin' eagle (if that makes a difference)?

  • Sweet this is what I'm hoping to start out on.

  • Anyone know where I can get those pipes? I hate the stock chrome ones, as does most everyone I think, and I'm gonna go pick up one of these bikes within the next few months and I was hoping I could get some different pipes on there asap.

  • Any Harley dealer should be able to sell you the pipes.

  • how is it wen u downshift. does it backfire nice?

  • nice iron ive got a custom and im lookin to trade in on a nightster. sounds great.

  • why you trading?

  • Need to put on the smoked turn signal covers front and rear red and amber bulbs it would make i real nice look for the bike. I put them on my nighster .

  • wow that sounds awesome!

when did u get it ? and did u customize it ur self or it came like that?

im looking to get one and need some help understanding how the dealership works

  • I have the identical bike, minus forward controls. The pipes, stage1 AC, remap and labor is $930 from the dealer. I bought mine last week and got $1000 gift card to the Harley shop, so the pipes were basically free. Out the door for $8995 with the pipes. This bike is awesome (my first bike), I put 240 miles on it the first two days. Very easy to ride.

  • take that reflector off the rear fender!

  • are those stock pipes?

  • by putting on the v n h pipes does that increase the cc's?

  • changing pipes does not increase cc's.

either bore out the cylinders or do a 1200 conversion to the 883 to gain more cc's.

  • Did you install the shortshots yourself? if so, was it difficult?

  • i cant find the V&H shorts. where is everyone getting them i need some for my iron

  • for pipes what about the V/H 2 into1? can ya get those in black or woul it work.....? (pretty much got my ind mae up this is the bike I'm gettin....)

  • would this look like shit with a springger seat or 60's style xlh seat??

  • nice motorbike man! its my dream once have an iron! :D

  • The factory seat is solo, but you can put on a seat for 2 people very easily.

  • hello from mex

    a question?

    could you put another seat?

  • Is this the only mods you have done? Those pipes should have been installed from the factory instead of the chrome ones. Excellent looking!!

  • wow! i love it! how much HP has this wonder? is a seat for 2 persons available, or only a solo seat?!

  • these pipes look so much better than the chrome stock ones they just match the rest of the bike perfect

  • awesome machine...greets from the Netherlands

  • such a cool bike..

  • Sweet ride man, like the all blacked out look, good sound, i run VnH on my softail, but again, sweet ride, be safe.

    Buy a Harley, Ride a Legend !!!!!!!

  • do you have quiet baffles on? Mine comes in 3 days... cross my fingers... but I'm expecting at least another 2 week delay... I have the same short shots sitting in my garage... did you install yourself?

  • No quite baffles here. The dealer installed them.

  • i would not change a thing leave it stock so nice can only wish

  • sounds so good, my gosh

  • You'll have to buy other components in addition to the Vance & Hines. In NY it's about $1,100 mod with labor.

  • badddassss!!!!

  • im buying one soon . do i pay full list price ? any advice . also can i put the vance and hines shortshots on and not alter anything else ?

  • Yes, you can install the VH shortshots without any other mods.

  • Comment removed

  • Those are wayyyyy better lookin and soundin than the stock pipes

  • you got yourself a solid bike

  • Sweet Sporty!

  • This bike looks great i cant wait to get mine ! I like the black pipes! sharp.

  • Hay what pipes mod is that? they come std with the straight cut shorties.... I was thinking of picking up one this spring, but want a 2-1 setup on it like the 883R had. anyways, kudos. nice ride, bro.

  • Great sound and beautiful bike, man.

    Enjoy it

  • u can put second seat for second person in the bike,, and u can put side bags?

  • yes, and yes.

  • I want to buy Iron 883 and everybody tells me that is to small bike for me, I am 6'- 2'' tall , any advice ?

  • you need a softail guy

  • best bet is to go to a HD dealer and sit on one or better yet head to a dealer during one of their test ride days and get a first hand feel of one.

by changing the bars and putting on forward controls, you can gain some more room on it but you would prob be more comfy on a big twin. if you like the Iron 883, look at the dyna street bob or fat bob or the softail night train.

  • Yes, but if that's what you want to do, your looking at the wrong bike. The Iron is supposed to stripped-down minimal. You want to go two-up, bolt screens and lights on? Pick a touring model.

  • You lucky bastard. Awsome bike, great sound.

  • ok guys i got an iron883 also,,,got the legal screaming eagles put on here in cali,,,i have to say,,they are loud enuf,,,,after a couple of hours i have to wear ear plugs,,,awsume,,,i can ride and still feel like a rock star,,,,trust me,,this bike attracts alot of attention,,ive been to harley gatherings already,,and it brings some real serious onlookers,,,,cool,!!!!

  • Congratulations , nice bike , I have 883R black '08, my funy weekend in the brazil ...

    bye

  • It's a good bike if you can't aford alot of money.

And still better then a jap bike.

  • it think its a good value. feels a bit small to me and i'm only 5'10" but it is a cool looking bike for the money. better than any jap cruiser but not a sportbike. if sportbikes are your thing you cant compare this to one.

  • I just got an Iron today; the first thing I'm going to do is put on the same exhaust as you did. Geez, and I thought the irons could not look any better! Great Hog

  • I've seen it done on a Nightster, I'm sure it could be done with an Iron.

  • im thinking about getting one of these as my first Harley. but ive read from some ppl that maybe i was too big for it.

    im 21 about 6 foot 2 and around 220.

am i really going to notice if im too big for it if ive never had any other harleys?

  • I'm 5'9" and this bike fits me pretty well in the legs, and I'm just a bit stretched out in the arms. I can't say for sure what height would be "too tall" for a Sportster. Just go to a dealer and get on a few different bikes and see what's most comfortable.

  • if you want a sportster but feel like you are too tall for this bike, then either

    1) you can check out the 883 custom which has forward controls on it or

    2) you can have some forward foot controls installed on this one

  • you must be a really big 5'10" (not saying your fat) cause im 5'11" and it fits my like a glove but i also have fwd contrls and couldnt be happer with how the bike feels

  • Im not into harleys, but this bike and the nightster are works of art. bad ass.

  • i just got one too- absolutely love this bike, worth every dollar. my friend who was thinking of switching to cruisers saw it for the first time and was amazed- he couldn't believe a harley that looks like this was 8k.

i was going to put forward controls on, but i quickly got used to the mid-controls so i installed highway pegs instead. 15 minutes install, anyone who has questions on how- let me know. i love the look of the vance hines duo's but i heard the larger 2-1 pipes have more bass...

  • My dealer said they will work with me on price, but what can I expect? 8500 or there about?

  • Great bike bro, sounds awesome. I just got Rush blacked out pipes on my 09' Iron 883. I am lovin' the bike. It's gonna be a great summer riding!

  • ...sigh....another jack ass...

  • Sexy bike, more videos please. *****

  • i know 8000msrp is low for a harley but i just want to know its REALLY worth spending my money on or if i should look for something else. iron 883 looks to be fucking amazing

  • Everybody I've heard of that has one of these bikes really enjoys them. It's up to you if you think it's worth the money. I would go to a dealer and ask to test one out and see for yourself.

  • They sound great! i picked my Iron up last Wednesday, and LOVE IT. I also put the forward controls on, do the pipes get in the way of your right foot with the forward controls?

  • Not at all.

  • sounds badass now we just need a fly-bye video

  • Yeah baby, loving the Iron just uploaded my 883r with the same pipes, they're bad boys!!

  • Nice bike brother! I have almost just like it. Hey what forward controls did you get? I look on the HD website and they say they don't fit the Iron but I can't see why. Ride safe

  • Forward Control Kit in Black: HD part #: 3397-07

    They fit just fine.

  • That's what I thought... Perfect I'm going to go get mine tomorrow. Did you install the forward controls yourself?

  • No, the dealer put them on for me, but it doesn't look complicated at all. Probably could have tossed it on myself in the garage.

  • Hell Yeah! I love the Iron! Please post some more videos! Ride safe!

  • Thanks!

I'm planning to purchase an Iron and am debating on the mods. These Vance and Hines seem to be popular and look good on this model. Seem kinda loud though? Did you install or have the dealer set it up for you? Did you notice a difference in power? Did you upgrade the air and fuel? I'd like to know what your out the door total was too. Need to start negotiating with my dealership on one.

  • I had the dealer put these pipes on straight out the door, so I don't have a baseline to compare the power. The parts guy at my dealer said the pipes add about 6hp by themselves.

I have yet to do the Stage 1 air/fuel, but that's the next step, should add another 6-7hp.

Yes, these pipes are loud and I love it!
