FIRST ELECTRIC CHAIR WAS DC .DC HAS HIGH AMPS AT LOWER VOLTAGE BUT GOOD ON YOUR LIFE STYLE AS I AM PREPARING TO LIVE OFF GRID GLAD TO SEE OTHERS PUT OUT VIDEOS TO HELP OTHER ALONG THE WAY TO SELF SUFFICIENCY
You ought to put in some heating wire around your solar panels and hook them up to a bicycle generator. Then you wouldn't have to go up on the roof to clear off the panels, you could just pedal the snow and ice off. Good idea n'est pas?
This arrangement is still far too dependent upon technology to appeal to me. You still have to replace batteries, and if your "inverter" goes then you cannot use your 110v equipment. I'm glad that Mr. Law is happy with his arrangement, and that it works for him. It's good to see any steps to become more self-reliant and less dependent on the power grid.
This is great, but it takes some cash to put together even this relatively simple system. And of course, the know how. The rub for me is mainly the cash, I can learn to do anything.
Great house, What he needs is a system that will generate electric from the rayburn heat in winter, i'm building just such a system, still in early stages yet but coming along. It is intended to run with a biomass boiler to generate electric. Check my channel out for updates. I'd love to hear from anyone who would be interested in my system. Build the whole thing for 5 grand!
i swear this is the bloke who built his own house on channel 4 grand designs???

How many years do your batteries last before you need to replace them. Or are they reconditioned after some years?

Perhaps next you could build an RBMK-1000 power plant. They're awesome.
