his name was Francisco Tenorio Junior and he was from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He disappeared at age 33 and a military leader later reported that he had been killed by the Argentinian military. doesn't sound like anyone knows why.
I know a sample from this track in an album by A forest Mighty Black "Mellowdramatic". Yes, the result is cool, but the original is beyond comparison - just brillant!! A shame this guy disappeared at such an ypung age, kidnapped in Argentina while touring with Vinicius de Moraes. Vanished in the dark vaults of dictatorship.
This could be easily one of the best tracks of bossanova, and it's so mature and sophisticated for the year it was recorded, so much complex than guitar and voice of Jobim and Gilberto's first productions... but it's a shame, I agree, that it's too short. Thanks to Nicola Conte to bring it to the world again.
I was just recently hipped to this guy on Nicola Conte's compilation CD. I just WISH this track was much, much, longer. Nevertheless, its simply BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for posting.

High five for everybody that knew this music before any "Nomak" or "Ewok" did... Brazilian musicians deserve more than this...
Tenorio Jr. - Piano
Milton Banana - Drums
Needless to say more...

*sigh*... holding on to that thought while listening to this song almost brings a tear to my eyes, so sad, and so undeserved.

What a great tune. I just keep listening untill the end, then just playing it again.
When that piano hook first comes in is great, and then when the band follows it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
