@thegoldenpanda77 what happened there then? did you not appreciate her giftedness enough? relationships are painful and the amount of sexy women strutting around in this stirs memories and desires in almost any male.
Ah ce Malcolm, il a toujours eu une longueur d'avance sur tous les autre, et un clip minimaliste avec de superbes mannequins...RESPECT - Ah what Malcolm, he always had an edge over all other, and a minimalist clip with beautiful models ... RESPECT Malcolm
dont know why but ive always loved this, in an era when i was listening to Iron Maiden, AC/DC and the Angels, this was always my favorite....a genuine talent way before his time........
@martinekkes this was my mothers funeral song and i am just wondering if the opera madame butterfly is related to this song as i would love to take my grandparents to see it if it is?
I remember the first time I heard this, LOVE IT, Me, My Dad and a hitof smack, first time with smack and this song...they go well together...TRY IT...Only joking!!!
I bought this on release (and still have the vinyl copy!) but considered it gimmicky not long afterwards. Listening to it now with the experience of age, I appreciate its subtleties and craftsmanship. Fair play Malcolm - you may not have always got it right, but when you did you really left your mark.
i was 16 years old, babysitting for the general manager of the fort worth symphony, going through his vinyl collection, which was massive, and saw the cover of "Fans" and played this song because "madame butterfly" i had heard of. little did i know it was this version. took my breath away. absolutely tried to get my friends to listen to it, and none of them were interested. then i started going to this club called the Starck Club and i lost it when the Deejay played it! at last!!!
Brilliant song from a classic album.Go and find Fans and listen to the whole thng it blew my mind the first time i played it,and it is still one of the best albums.
You were a genius Malcolm, it's just a shame you are no longer with us. From Anarchy in the UK to the Double Dutch from Go wild in the Country there was no end to your genius. x
WOW ! havn't heard this for years-forgot how wonderful it was-i think Malcolm was one of the first to mix pop with opera--he sure had a way with music...
Utter GENIUS and a really brilliant music track,I really heard it for the first time in 1984 when I had been smoking Weed.I overlooked it until that Summers night.
Loved it ever since.Malcolm you were/are a great Man we will never replace you.
Thank's for what you brought us.From Sex to the Sex Pistols through to this a rare
Duran Duran's "Girls on film", Olivia Newton-John's "Physical", Vanity 6's "Nasty girl"... There were many fascinating music videos in 1980's. Among those great videos, especially this Malcolm's video is extremely fascinating one. I love it!
The song itself is brilliant in every way, a real masterpiece - rest in piece, Malcolm.
This video doesn't do it justice, though. You'd say it wouldn't be that hard to come up with a video based on an opera like this. I wish they'd have tried to illustrate the actual story instead of a few half-naked beautiful women clutching on a letter. Such a waste.
I first met Malcolm in 1969 at "Le Bataclan" Club London; we where teens and both had flaming read hair. Many moons later when I was a 1st Assistant Film Director we filmed this classic with Terence Donovan at Harrogate Baths. Meeting again on this great shoot we reminisced the great music from the club. I use to bump into Malcolm over the coming decades and we always too time out to catch up. Dear friend and Auburn loner like myself will miss you.
