Its funny, the other day I looked into getting health insurance, and I discovered that expecting fathers as well as mothers are both pre-existing conditions. Men can't get pregant so why are potential fathers a pre-existing health condition? Is it because they think the daddy will pass out in the delivery room when the child is born?

Well that's really where the tradeoff is.
We give the insurance companies a mandate. Preventing people from only buying insurance when they get sick.
In return, they can't deny customers or charge them extortionary rates, when they get sick.
