  • Hi Ishtar, you can call me jackson. Very welcome you to China! :) Now Guang zhou city is a big modern city, which locates south of China.

  • thanks :-)

  • Hey there I just wanted to ask you one thing as a belly dance teacher. I am a beginner...if a person takes it seriously and practices how long does it take to become a halfway decent dancer...I don't mean pro or anything. I am just curious I am sure people always improve and learn as they go along. LOL sorry for the long question. TTYL--Jaded

  • mmm..hard one that to answer. Some people are what I call "Natural dancers" been dancing all their life some form of dance and they improvise naturally can pick up the dance in a year or 2..but to be proficient you need at least 4 years or so. You need to dance 5 to 10 hours a week more if possible.

  • Most of all you need to listen to arabic music and take the time to learn their rhythyms, saidi, maqsoum, malfuf, baladi etc, this will help you to understand the dum & tacs and how to accent to the music easily without choreography. good luck :-) (but do go to a teacher...)

  • Unfortunately I live in North Dakota and there isn't much for culture in Middle Eastern Dance...however I do think a girl has come to town and is starting some classes this September and I do plan on joining and I have a few IAMED vids thar are fun to watch and learn from . TTYL--Jaded

  • thats great..in the beginning it is important to go to a class. Ask questions if u aren't getting the moves, otherwise u end up learning the wrong technic, which u than have to unlearn and relearn.. once u have the basics u can practise to make perfect and i always encourage your own style... cheers for now..
