  • @tommysbrowncaddy lol, wat

  • @tommysbrowncaddy stfu and gtfo you little prick mercedes ftw

  • @VaginalVador What?

  • 15" bundts?

  • Have one just like it, only the exterior is Anthrecite. Dark Gun Metal grey. It was in tough shape when I got it cosmetically and did restoration. Runs like a champ and is a real tank to drive. Love the car. I get comments in parking lots. Had offers to buy it, but not for sale. Have fun!

  • aaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhhh! the car was supposed to be ready by this week. called today, now it looks like it'll be sunday or early next week. oh the pain!

  • drove to atlanta yesterday...put a deposit on a car EXACTLY like this...year, colors, wheels, etc. the guy had the engine and tranny out and was about to put back in. he'll have the wheels redone and new tires as well as a complete wax/buff for me. should be ready next week. i keep coming back to this clip to get a look at 'my' car. wife thinks i'm nuts...i sold my 2002 sl 500 and am replacing it with an 85 300d turbo. hehe call me nuts, but i think it's gonna be sweet!

  • killer car! hoping to get one in the next week myself. enjoy!

  • How do manual Mercedes diesels (older ones like this one) do for mileage? I have a 1998 Jetta TDI w/165,000 miles and get 53-42mpg depending on temps and city/highway.

  • Veggie oil on a 1981 300D with 300k+ miles, original everything, still running like a pro.

  • got a veggie oil kit on mine and it has 250k on the odo.

    no blow by at all.

its had a great single owner from florida.

  • A beautiful car. Long live the W123!

  • I love this car, man!

  • About 12 years ago, I purchased a car identical to this one for $5,800. I drove it 5 years and then sold it for for the same price...$5,800! I later regreted selling it, I missed the diesel engine, so I recently purchased another one. They are great reliable old cars...and last of the breed that were truly "engineered like no other car in the world".

  • The glow pug controller has an integral timer. It will glow for a shorter period when warm, but it will always glow.

2 bar is a normal oil pressure when warm and at idle.

  • your oil pressure should not always to be at 3 bar, you can even have as low as .5 to 1 bar and it would be fine but it must rise when acclearating, and if your oil pressure is 3 bar constanly then you have added too much oil in your engine....

  • This little exchange here actually helped me. My recently purchased '83 300D pegged its oil pressure at startup, so I checked the oil level and *BINGO* it was overfilled. Once I drained it down to the proper level, the oil pressure lowered to exactly what you said. Thanks!

  • i think something is wrong with your oil pressure, the indicator should always show 3, it's only showing 2 here

  • You have also look at motor temperature, it's allready warm so the oil pressure should be not less than 1.4 bar when engine is warm so this is good.

  • Come on man, your 617 is already warm, in fact, your glowlight shouldn't even light up. So instead of a perfect shape, there is something wrong with it. Look at ther oilpressure. Jeez, next time don't try to fool someone here man.

  • You're a moron. I have had a 617 turbo and non turbo back in 1978 and 1984 purchased new and they both acted the same way. The glow light ALWAYS came on. Not sure which diesel you are driving...or is it a diesel?!?

  • yea, the glow light always goes on in an 85. But yea, any merc. diesel will start on one crank if its hot

  • Sweet car, is it for sale?

  • Very nice W123!
