In PvP clerics are by far superior. But they are boring as fuck.

Chanters are good at everything, and they are fun to play. You will be able to solo almost anything at level 50.

Chanters are jack of all trades, heals, buffs, debuffs, dps, off tank abilities, etc. They are good at everything, not perfect at one thing.

Clerics are self explanitory, perfect healers with magic attacks, they do well in pvp seeing as they can full heal themselves pretty fast.

as much as i know chanter has more phisical damage, but cleric has good magics. the difference is:

chanter are buffers and close combat, clerics are healers and range combat

Not like a HoX, but much more similar to a Bear Shaman if you remember them. They are strictly buffs and melee, with heal over time healing and some burst healing, however unlike the Bear Shaman, they have much more CC and a speed buff (which I believe the only other class gets are scouts).

Also, they are not as high burst damage as a Bear Shaman, but rather, steady sustained DPS.

Just a note from those in Europe and America. This is the Korean/Chinese version, which was released last year.

It was only recently being released in US and EU because they had to translate the entire game, also, customise it for various things.

This is not a Beta of the US/EU one which comes out this September. Look at the date of the video "July 2008"

It has 1000's of quests as I understand. I am definately gonnap lay this. I am making a Gladiator among othert hings and the choice of over 500 greatswords is just to much to stand for me xD. The PVE is nice and the quests are decent from what I have seen from the closed beta events.

You don't have to worry about healbotting if you roll Chanter. Their only effective heals are instant cast and heal over time. Mostly you'll be buffing and putting out some melee damage.

YES Skills "CHains" can be compared with Combo in Cabal, But its like you can Break Chain by stuns enemy, or breaks it down by knock down ... sadlly in Cabal Combo were like Unbrokable and only few classes with special builds could do that ... its siply were like a easy loooking clash in PVP when players fel down an stil lis able to get up like Super Hero lol.

as far as i know chanter is a class which brings the whole group some benefits, it debuff and buff along with doing dps. not big dps but still, dps is dps, and it can also heal a little, cleric will be the big heal class but chanter can give a helping hand.

Apparently the mobs in this game have extrememly high health right from the start. The good side is extra damage but not in the same proportion. Many fights take longer but I think this has been done to allow ample time to use the game's combo system for moves and stuff.

it's because a chanters main job is to buff itself and or the party... so if it's buffing it self with low attack/strengh then it takes longer to beat a mob...chanters are more effective in parties...

No Chanter is a hybrid type they arn't a high dps/burst dmg type of class. They're more oriented around buffing and group utility but they still do decent melee dmg.

Chanters cannot tank, so no your theory is wrong. They're brought to groups purely for their buffs and offheals i assume. Being able to put out decent dps is a bonus.

play the game first then say that, chanters can tank great if needed, even OT in raids etc. As the only other sub-class in game that can use a shield it adds great defense rounded with a good tanking mace and its gg. L2 not suck more thx. try killing a good chanter that sucks at all the things all the other classes are designed to do. They can do it all. wear mail, stack crit and use a 2h wpn that knocks back, stacked with small hots and spot heals they are very hard to bring down.

There are alot of chanters in the Closed beta now, but they will die down because of their damage rate. People believe a chanter to be a off tank since they have "some" fighting attacks but don't get it twisted. they are meant for support and PvP wise.. well lets say this, anything can beat anything. I mean I'm a chanter and I beat a Templar no sweat (he kept running away from me lol). People don't know how to use a chanter but this video represents a decent representation of how to use one :)
