Thanks, but it's impossible to be smooth without a wheel, and even then it's hard. EA makes the cars so twitchy that it's impossible with a controller. However now they've tried to make it more smooth with 08 and 09, but now the cars are completely undrivable w/o a wheel.

They could be man. Just raise your steering lock and lower the steering trim in car setup. Generally you want about a 1.0 trim and about a 15.0-17.0 lock.

Daytona's one of my better tracks on the NASCAR games, and I have a steering wheel for my PS2. My best tracks are probably all of the Superspeedways, Short Tracks, and Pocono.

Nice! Yeah, I think the controller is so hard to use on NASCAR Games. That's why I'm starting to like my NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup. Everytime I try to drive the wheels off of my racecar, the car spins out!

It's not the graphics, it's the camera. Staying in one lane is impossible unless you're using a wheel.

I have limited assists on. When you are more than 1/2 a second behind it gives you a speed boost to help you catch up. It's a real handy thing at the superspeedways because it gets really lonely in the back when you have no drafting help.

He didn't take the restrictor plates off. It's just the 'catch-up' speed you get when you're too far behind the leader. It happens to keep the races closer. rko007, if you've played the game long enough to be one of the best in the game, you should know that.

hey back burner i have the game myself how did you get to take off your ristrictor plate at daytona and talladaga.because with the ristrictor plate on you should only be able to go up to 190 mph. so what gives?
