He neglected to mention that most dogs in shelters are mutts.
This is actually advantage, as it greatly reduces the risk of any genetic flaws in a dog, such as a golden retriever's hipdisplaysia or a dalmatian's foul temperment.

THANK YOU BRAD GARRETT!!! More celebrities need to know about puppymills since they are the ones buying puppies in petstores and setting a bad example by going to Pets of Bel Air. If the petstores have no one to sell puppies too the puppymills will have to shut down and the abuse will stop, enough already!

Richard Belzer (Law & Order) is a shelter advocate. He was at a Posh Puppy protest, letting the world know that he opts to adopt. It is great to hear of celebrities who don't patronize pet stores to buy a best friend/fashion accessory. There are so many great pets in shelters...even puppies (some rescued in puppy mill raids) and purbreds.

i will NEVER buy a dog or any other animal from a pet store. when one of my friends are getting a dog or any other animal i always tell them to get it from a shelter b/c of puppies mills and there are already way to many animals in shelters :(
