I miss the days when the Mighty Van Halen were still considered a "dangerous band".......the kind that teenagers were not allowed to see in concert because their parents were afraid of all the hedonism and debauchery involved -- and they were right! Lots of pot-smoking and hot-lookin' pussy at VH concerts back then..
Can we just go back to when rock n roll was made by people who were really good at it. And not every jerk off and his mother could get famous. VH in the 70's /80's was, and always will be the best live rock n roll band ever. !! Hands Down. They had the talent and the showmenship, and had fun at it too.. I was so bummed that Michael wasn't on board for the 2007/2008 tour!! !978-1984!! Best run of albums by any rock band ever. I would say, Even better then Zepplins heyday!!
Thats actually way off. DLR was extremely intelligent. While the rest of the band would be writing new material, he was the one that wrote up a lot of the contracts and waivers for every show, including the "No brown M&Ms" clause, which was a brilliant way to make sure the concert employees read the contract thouroughly. (spell check?) lol If anything, it was his drinking and his ego that kinda gave everyone the impression that he wasn't very bright. lol he was extremely smart though. :)
@Carloscda40 no i wasn't alive in the 80's im 20 actually but I've heard just about every song Van Halen has ever done and EVH has always been my all time favorite guitarist by far and my whole inspiration for playing. So id say i've done my share of homework on this one.
tell me honey will your lovin pay my bills..fuckin A..haha best album they made and i love all your solo stuff.......i wanna run for my money thats all..
Van Halen was at their peak with DLR,but Eddy is still on top and the pioneer in the guitar world .taking nothing away from Sammy Hagar ,He is talented too ,music is music it all comes from the heart
David Lee Roth is the biggest joke that's ever stepped on a stage. He's an idiot - always has been - always will be. VH made it in SPITE of DLR not because of him. Van Hager rules!
I want tell everybody thanks for readin my comments on this page cuz everybody want some , i want some too , lol ... those classic 6 albums are still a blessin to listen to for all the real van halen fans around world I know iam not alone VAN HALEN RULE THE WORLD !at one time
I mean if you don't dave stay the fuck away from van halen go join the red rocker army shit , I'am speakin' behalf for long time real van halen fans right here.cuz we are the real van halen fans ! just go away , go post your hate comments somewhere else like journey's video or montrose something ...
"winners take all" that right van halen are winner in music busniness back then and still kickazz today so "I don't wanna hear about it later" those people in the concert are damn lucky to see this badazz show . THIS THE REAL VAN HALEN SHIT HERE BABE ! , it about music and the looks and havin' FUN !...... OH YEAH P,S SAMMY HAGAR SUCKS ! he made van halen look so ugly YUK ! iLL !
i like the "other" songs on 1984 such as top jimmy, drop dead legs. I dont like jump at all which ended up being the biggest hit of the "dave era" of the band
Apparently the "brothers" are blocking releasing all the DLR stuff. So we have fuckin lame without a net"! Man Dave sounds good hear. I loved this tour...
Hard to believe but this video, along with Unchained, was on MTV when they actually played music videos. Fair Warning is the most underated VH album ever made. Some of the best work by the band before the 1984 debacle.
I agree! Today's MTV has ignored music videos, or music, in general, for SO LONG, no wonder a lot of people have "very little" or "no music knowledge" whatsoever. In my opinion, you won't learn anything buy listening to rap/hip hop!
I was sick of Hagar back in 1986.........type in the words " Hagar alien abductee " into Google and read the article about this retarded shit-stain.........he's a fucking useless douche.
Got that right, if they never split up they would have been the best thru out the 80's very easily and thats selling them short cause bands like U2 who i do like some of their songs can't even come close to the original VH baby!!!
Listen to the fury! "Fair Warning" was the best VH album because it captured the dark side of the band....they were becoming known as a good-time party band but this album showed they had heavy demonic riffs and angry lyrics....and it was bad-ass! I still love this album even 25+ yrs. later.
I love VH-1 the most but Fair Warning is the only album that can hold its ground against the first and for some ungodly reason its a forgotten album?? Please! How the hell did that ever happen? This thing rocks from the first track to the last! If you love VH its a MUST HAVE!!! Great post hunkola and 100% true!! I still listen to mine 25 years later!!
Look at that stage! HUGE foreground from drum kit to stage edge. Baseball park! MEGA! Check out that light rig! That's 5 semi trucks worth!! 5 stacks high with the Marshalls. Insane! A P.A. so loud it was illegal!
No one does this anymore. This was when rock was REAL, the players were real, the lifestyle was real, and Van Halen were KINGS.
20,000 kids would show up and pack it in, all smokin weed and poppin qualudes.
Listen to Mike and Ed sing! Dave is killin it! The whistle. HA!
oh believe me they still do have the loudest show outhere I saw them dec 30th 2007 newyears eve mgm grand lasvegas im so proud of how great they sound everybody go see them live
Mixing party attitude and musical talent hit its all time high with Roth times Van Halen. Under appreciated in comparison to a couple of others Fair Warning was by far their best ever album too. Sonic tour de force and experimental rock guitar at its best, making engineer Donn Landee and producer Ted Templeman their unique brown sound.
