Can we just go back to when rock n roll was made by people who were really good at it. And not every jerk off and his mother could get famous. VH in the 70's /80's was, and always will be the best live rock n roll band ever. !! Hands Down. They had the talent and the showmenship, and had fun at it too.. I was so bummed that Michael wasn't on board for the 2007/2008 tour!! !978-1984!! Best run of albums by any rock band ever. I would say, Even better then Zepplins heyday!!

Thats actually way off. DLR was extremely intelligent. While the rest of the band would be writing new material, he was the one that wrote up a lot of the contracts and waivers for every show, including the "No brown M&Ms" clause, which was a brilliant way to make sure the concert employees read the contract thouroughly. (spell check?) lol If anything, it was his drinking and his ego that kinda gave everyone the impression that he wasn't very bright. lol he was extremely smart though. :)

Hard to believe but this video, along with Unchained, was on MTV when they actually played music videos. Fair Warning is the most underated VH album ever made.Some of the best work by the band before the 1984 debacle.

Listen to the fury! "Fair Warning" was the best VH album because it captured the dark side of the band....they were becoming known as a good-time party band but this album showed they had heavy demonic riffs and angry lyrics....and it was bad-ass! I still love this album even 25+ yrs. later.

Mixing party attitude and musical talent hit its all time high with Roth times Van Halen. Under appreciated in comparison to a couple of others Fair Warning was by far their best ever album too. Sonic tour de force and experimental rock guitar at its best, making engineer Donn Landee and producer Ted Templeman their unique brown sound.
