Not to condone what Joe did in the past, but looking at this interview, I think it's inappropriate the way the interviewer keeps pushing Joe. Joe almost seems like he's on medication, perhaps he was, needing something to get through those days. We have to remember that he's 80 years old here. Think of most 80 yr olds. Do they sound coherent & making sense, ESPECIALLY if they'd just lost their son? Everyone shows their grief differently. We can't possibly judge him at that time.
i think that michael jackson had been boosted into fame due to his fathers strong determination and pushing michael and his brothers very hard. but it came a price, where michael had an incomplete childhood, and a loss of freedom at the age of ten. along with that, feeling self conscious about himself, and no real father figure to look up to, and his fathers abusive treatment shows that joe jackson was not a good parent. he does not appear to even show any sad feelings in this interview.

This is typical behavior for him, which is why Michael told Martin Bashir and Oprah that he used to regurgitate at the sight of his father, Joseph. Not to condone what Joe did in the past, but looking at this interview, I think it's inappropriate the way the interviewer keeps pushing Joe. Joe almost seems like he's on medication, perhaps he was, needing something to get through those days. We have to remember that he's 80 years old here. Think of most 80 yr olds. Do they sound coherent & making sense, ESPECIALLY if they'd just lost their son? Everyone shows their grief differently. We can't possibly judge him at that time.

i think that michael jackson had been boosted into fame due to his fathers strong determination and pushing michael and his brothers very hard. but it came a price, where michael had an incomplete childhood, and a loss of freedom at the age of ten. along with that, feeling self conscious about himself, and no real father figure to look up to, and his fathers abusive treatment shows that joe jackson was not a good parent. he does not appear to even show any sad feelings in this interview.

I think that sometimes we forget, while we watched and seen how rude the media was to Michael regardless of what we heard and seen his family loved him.
Like every family, they've had problems, but I know it hurts them most (the things they've witnessed in the past) and I now think that Mr. Jackson was just overwhelmed more than ever. I don't think it's too fair for us to think he's a terrible person.
I never thought he was but I was really surprised.

We shouldn't judge him so quickly. Not everyone shows their pain and it's a little wierd how we can judge him but this has to and had to have been the most painful thing for him.
