Being so against humanity is such a waste. These corporations could do so much more to make the world a better place, but don't. As Simone Weil said, evil is boring and destructive.
Most people completely butcher the "evolution debate". Let me simplify.
Fact-Biological evolution.
Theory-Darwinian evolution. (survival of the fittest)
Just like:
Fact-The sun burns.
Theory-Nuclear fusion.
The fact that organisms evolve from others, in a sprawling "tree of life" spectrum, is just that, a fact. Just like the sun burns. HOW the fact happens is the theory and is debatable.
There is NO alternative to biological evolution, only possibly to Darwin's theory.
you guys don't seem to get it, I am not saying that the Bible or a pastor is proof, I'm not saying that anything is proof, im saying that there are counter theories to evolution. And people who think you can't compare them, you fricking can! They're both theories how man came into being! You have no right to say I am stupid if you can't apreaciate that you cannot prove either of them and both have equally believable theories. Just have a look at this
@broadvisionstudios And, sir, YOU don't seem to get it. Evolution is the result of the evidence available. Period. Your opinion isn't evidence. Some preacher who took The Bible (which was meant to be symbolic) and counted backwards to come up with a LITERAL translation that the earth is 6000 years old... is not evidence that the earth is 6000 years old. It's evidence that human beings are gullible.
@Adam4tvs That guy is a doctor, that means he took a degree in science and that means he has a more solid ground to say something on the mater. You are only saying that evolution is right because its what you've been told from a young age and now it's just reflex to say it is right. Have you ever considered that you could be wrong? Have you ever even bothered to doubt it? By the way I didn't say my opinion is proof, I'm saying that what that guy has a rational way of disproving evolution.
@SpitfireOFatj "you people" there is only one of me arguing with you on this at the moment, I'm not asking you to accept my belief as fact, I'm asking you to at least try and realise that there is some scientific sense behind it. And I don't know if you noticed but I did state that he had taken a degree in science, he is a doctor of science. I can appreciate he was a bit harsh and probably not very convincing to someone with firm beliefs, but he did use scientific evidence.
His rubber band example shows spin carries you further. He's a con man.
And by "you people" I meant idiots who feel the choice is either science or god and your soul is at stake. There are tons of you self important morons who feel you are "enlightened" and the only thing you really have is the courage of your ignorance.
@SpitfireOFatj you didn't watch very much of that video did you? about 20 mins in he starts to actually talk about it. And if the choice is more than science or religion what other choices are there? You can't exactly not have an opinion. I never said I was enlightened or your soul is at stake, I just feel that you don't seem to appreciated that you could be wrong and that there are other answers. Anyway, you aren't even bringing up very valid points any more, you're just trying to insult me.
@broadvisionstudios "Anyway, you aren't even bringing up very valid points any more, you're just trying to insult me."
"Trying"? Damn you are really thick.
BTW: Recent fossil evidence has shown that hominids started walking upright earlier than we thought. The reason for this adaptation was the females were selecting males that could carry food to them instead of fight over them. This means an example of "primitive behavior" is showing up for a date with candy and flowers.
@SpitfireOFatj I like the way you think it's getting to me, I am trying to have at least a mildly civilised argument with you and the only thing you can offer is pointless insults that don't mean anything to me. Anyway, the way the crust is layered to me doesn't reflect its age, it supports the flood. as tons of water receded it would have dragged layers of silt that would have built up with dead animals that would have deformed with pressure, this would form things like the grand canyon.
@SpitfireOFatj Also I don't see how you can prove from fossils that "hominids" walked upright and I don't see how you could come up with explanations for these "adaptations", how the hell are you supposed to know that females wanted a male that could carry food? How do you know that they fought before? I think the hominid thing is deformed humans that were crushed during the flood and deformed over time as well. So you can't call fossils evidence really.
@broadvisionstudios "I don't see how you can prove from fossils that "hominids" walked upright "
Of course you can't. It flies in the face of your nonsense.
Bottom line, we evolved into bipeds because of a societal change that valued caring over domination. The value of "family" and "community" over the concept of the strong overcoming the weak.
What's funny is you feel you have superior morals because you follow a mythology that tells you that you were created from dirt.
@SpitfireOFatj You are getting a few religions muddled up there, It just so happens that Christianity, a long with most other religions, promote peace, so I have no idea why you think religious people are trying to start a war. And there is no possible way of even having evidence of societal change, the only way you could is by building a time machine and having a look for yourself. May I ask where you are getting this information from?
@broadvisionstudios "I have no idea why you think religious people are trying to start a war."
You don't get out much,...do ya....
@broadvisionstudios "And there is no possible way of even having evidence of societal change"
Sure there is. It's called "natural selection". Females picked males that didn't fight for them and as a result of selecting males with smaller canines and the trait was inherited so the entire species had smaller and smaller canines.
@SpitfireOFatj By religious people I meant Christians I didn't make it very clear. I believe that natural selection happens/happened and I can understand your point. But I don't believe that there ever was a humanoid with larger canines. Now, can you at least admit that there are some unexplained parts (not natural selection, that can be tested) and holes in the theory of evolution? I believe in previous comments I have provided sufficient arguments for you to understand that.
@broadvisionstudios "I don't believe that there ever was a humanoid with larger canines."
Ardipithecus ramidus had larger canines but they were already getting smaller.
@broadvisionstudios "Now, can you at least admit that there are some unexplained parts (not natural selection, that can be tested) and holes in the theory of evolution?"
No, and admit it, you can't accept we evolved here because you want to think of yourself as just visiting this planet.
All you did was try to claim that fiction should be just as valid as fact for the sake of fairness and part of being open minded means filling your head with easily debunked garbage.
Like the con man in the video's claim that a plesiosaur washed up on the beach when it was a whale. Oh, and you DO know these people have been busted for making fake fossils of footprints next to dino tracks,..don't you?
@SpitfireOFatj you are obviously not going to listen to whatever I say, so you can carry on believing that it's fiction and evolution hasn't been disproved if you want. I made an effort and you don't really care so I don't see why I should now either. Those people haven't been busted for making fake footprints you are just retarded, being "open minded" was not what I was suggesting, I was asking you to understand that creationism isn't just balls it has some sense to it, but you don't so bye.
@broadvisionstudios "I was asking you to understand that creationism isn't just balls it has some sense to it, but you don't so bye."
You condescending asshole. It's not a question of my capacity to understand. It's the FACT that creationism is just another desperate attempt to keep an outdated folklore alive.
Your claim that the Grand Canyon is evidence of The Flood is right up there with the claim that it was caused when Paul Bunyan dragged his ax behind him.
@Adam4tvs Honestly, I don't know why you even argue with @broadvisionstudios Seems like neither of you are in the state of mind to accept what the other says.. . .Unfortunately, the flood being proved doesn't prove creationism. It only proves that there was a really big flood. I wish it did. Being a Christian ... We are told to have faith..having faith means believing without proof..yes,it is easier to believe with proof ..
sigh.. I wish we had more proof but we don't so I have faith..also, there's proof of evolution. Just in the last hundred years..look at our children. They are bigger smarter and faster than we were. Is that not evolution? Just because humans are getting better @broadvisionstudios doesn't mean there is no God...so stop worrying about people saying that there's evolution.
He is all powerful and can do anything why wouldn't he improve His own creation? Don't you improve your work and do things better over time? I am not saying God couldn't have made us better before but that he is making us better now. Why ignore that? Certainly it's obvious.
Maybe evolution is PROOF there is a God..anyway, @Adam4tvs you have many good points in your rant and I agree that creationism doesn't disprove evolution. Just as evolution most definitely does not disprove creationism. ((ok, I am done sorry for hijacking the thread))
@mamaschafer Hijack away! You're right, evolution does not disprove creationism. One is a collection of evidence, and one is a story with no evidence. The two aren't in the same category. It's like wondering if Mighty Mouse could beat up Vin Diesel.
@broadvisionstudios You don't seem to understand what a theory is in scientific terms. What most people call a theory, in scientific terms if you remember from 10th grade science class, is a hypothesis, an idea. Then you test, gather evidence, weight the findings, do more testing, etc; and once it has reach passed certain peer review standards, it becomes a theory.
"Our" theories have (mountains of) evidence, your "theories"(ideas) do not.
And linking to a Hovind vid shows your lack of info. :)
@666norton420 You called it a theory in your last comment. Anyway, I admit that I don't have a lot of information but I was trying to make a point, evolution COULD be wrong and you shouldn't just dismiss other ideas without exploring them fully first. Also you shouldn't accept something as fact just because it has the most information, E=mc2 was disproved and that had a lot of evidence. How do you explain how life came into being? I though spontaneous generation was disproved over 100yrs ago?
I sir applaud you for this video. This is the most dangerous situation the USA faces today. Idiots who refuse to learn, read, write, or fire off a few brain cells to gather information. People prefer to be spoon fed their "news" and eat it up regardless of it being shit or not.
why can you not just accept religion, it is a belief as is the belief in evolution in science. There is no proof of evolution because you cannot go back and TEST it, there is evidence to suggest that evolution does happen but not proof. There is also evidence to suggest that Christianity is accurate in creationism and the flood ect. That is why it is a belief as you cannot prove it, just as you cannot prove evolution, it is just a theory and theories can be broken.
@broadvisionstudios If you think there is "evidence" of creationism, you are owed a refund from your university. But something tells me no university ever told you that.
@Adam4tvs search for Kent Hovind on youtube, he brings up some interesting points and theories to support creationism. I cannot believe that someone who appears to be as intelligent as you hasn't researched points against your own beliefs. I can't say I have a complete understanding of the theory of evolution, but I find it hard to believe that even after billions of years (or whatever it is) of evolution from a single cell, such things as DNA could have formed from random mutations.
@MrHams18 do you really think that i would start an argument about this if i didnt know about creationism? I am a Christian. I have looked at both sides and to me personally i think that creationism, though it may seem far fetched to some, makes more sense than an explosion that, instead of destroys, creates. I think the idea of intelligence and emotion originating from a single cell that has no logical reason for existence is completely insane!
@broadvisionstudios "I think the idea of intelligence and emotion originating from a single cell that has no logical reason for existence is completely insane!"
That's because you have no brain cells.
BTW: The idea humans come from an egg seems insane to a kid brought up believing a stork delivers babies by airmail,....especially when he likes them sunny side up....
@broadvisionstudios I gotta agree with OP. If you honestly believe there is "evidence" of creationism you really need to retake you basic high school level courses. Better yet, move out of your state to be on the safe side.
@pjlehan first of all, I am still in high school, secondly I am British. I think you should simply respect others views as I do yours and not try and insult my intelligence. I am not unintelligent, I just think that creationism makes more sense. Also, before you say there is no evidence you should actually make an effort to look for some. You would be suprised at what you can find.
And that is Creationism is in no way comparable to that of Evolution. Say what you will about about the 2, only one of them has the scientific backing. I'm sorry, but a book written by MAN (not God) does not count as "proof" and same can be said about preachers. You cannot cite a bible or pastor as scientific proof.
Belief in Creationism will only lead to you hurting the advancement of the Scientific Frontier.
@broadvisionstudios "why can you not just accept religion, it is a belief as is the belief in evolution in science."
The two do not equate.
It's like saying it's equal to believe the North American continent is made up of a series of tectonic pates or it's the back of a giant turtle. (look it up)
@broadvisionstudios BTW: We used to be "polite" and say, "believe what you want to believe" but that ended when you guys tried to infiltrate the schools with your creationist nonsense.
There's an old saying. Religion is like a penis. It's okay to be proud of it but don't wave it around in public and don't shove it down my kid's throat.
@broadvisionstudios There simply is no geological evidence of a world wide flood. You have been told there is geological evidence of a world wide flood, but it just ain't so. Localized floods-yes.
This gets to the heart of the problem. Your information sources are flawed. If one supports intelligent design or creationism they seek out information sources that confirm their beliefs.
Science has sought to disprove evolution for over 150 years. They can't.
@Bozo1360 I did just state that the fact that the way the earth is layered could suggest a flood as silt would have built up and then separated to form layers, it would then have turned into sedimentary rock under pressure. There are different types of evolution so it depends which one you are on about, natural selection is real, you can test it. However, chemical evolution and the big bang theory along with the whole evolution from a single cell thing is flawed. I'll continue in another comment
@Bozo1360 It is flawed because: life cannot spontaneously generate. The big bang theory is impossible as it breaks one of the basic laws of physics: you can only transfer energy not create it, where did the energy come from? and it if you believe in the big bang, where did matter come from? and where did all the different chemicals come from? you can explain hydrogen but hydrogen can't evolve into other elements. Therefore, evolution has already at least partially been disproved.
@broadvisionstudios You have no idea what you're talking about man. Let me clarify things for you.
1) Biological evolution has NOTHING to do with Abiogenesis, nor the Big Bang.
2) We have no idea what came "before" the BB, nor if that's even a logical question, nor what the BB actually was. So currently, it doesn't break the 1st law of thermodynamics.
3) I don't think you know what chemicals are. Google.
4) Atoms other than Hydrogen and Helium are fused in these bodies called stars, then novi.
@666norton420 I am aware that the BB and Abiogenesis are not connected, but I was arguing for Creationism which is the creation of Earth and Man, it's quite hard to not bring in the big bang when arguing about this. And if we don't have any idea what the big bang is, why is it being taught in schools!? Thank you for clarifying the chemical thing I got a bit mixed up with the names there. And I'm a bit confused about the stars, where did they come from according to the big bang ect.?
@broadvisionstudios They are not the same though. Separate fields, separate evidence for each theory. Search for my other comment about evolution.
What you need to do is look this shit up on Wiki, as me trying to explain in 500 character bits is moot.
If i were to have a point with you, it would simply be that you apparently don't know much at all about these subjects, therefor, you arguing against them is illogical.
If you need help digesting the information, i'll gladly answer your PMs. :)
@betterbadnewz - first of all, "you're". Secondly, bush bailed out wall street an Obama bailed out the auto industry. Thirdly, if you think both sides are equal, you're not paying attention.
Your problem is that you think your smarter than those GOP idiots. Of course the presidential candidates are puppets. They are owned (Shobama too) by the same corporations who want you to believe that you live in a democracy. Wall street got more from Shobama then they ever could have gotten from a GOP prez. The corporate powers promote idiot GOP candidates so you will vote for Shobama again rather than suffer the horror of an idiot GOP presidency. If you fall for it again
@SpitfireOFatj LMFAO, best comment ever. Up until recently the microwave was in front of that and it was never seen. I installed the one over the stove and the ass clown that put the backsplash in in the 80s, put it so far up you can't put the faceplate on... Ya gotta move that outlet. And clearly I have other things to do like bitch about how stupid people are. I should rant about the stupid things in my house. LOL.
@SpitfireOFatj If you saw what the ceiling looked like, you'd realize just how back burner that plate is. LMAO. Oh my house... There's an HGTV video of them redoing my bedroom in 2007 on my channel. The definition of fixer-upper. But that's good advice. I'll get that done quicker than the ceiling. :)
@Adam4tvs You are never really ever done doing home improvements because there's always another project waiting. And just when you think you are done there's the trip to Anna's Linens with the wife and the next thing you know you are taking down the custom cut 1" wood blinds in the kitchen you just installed and putting up lacy curtains....
@Pangolinx1 "A hacksaw will just split the brittle plastic of an outlet plate."
I've done dozens of these over the years.
What you do is turn it back side up and run the blade parallel across the whole plate. The idea is to cut a deep grove along the back of the plate and then you pick it up and snap it along the grove. Dress the edge with a file if needed. (Often it's a clean break.)
@SpitfireOFatj If you do that then the formica wins. Snip the metal trim piece and the backsplash too if you have to, I say. Better yet, miter it back around the plate like a boss. (you can tell I work by the hour)
I know what you mean. If it was me I would get a new plastic box for existing constriction, cut the wall higher up for it and while I was at it, tap the wires for under counter lights. Hell, I'd even install in-cabinet lights that come on when you open them. All LED of course.
@darkblue236 "The guy has really good points, why point that out?"
For fun.
Let's face it. He's right to be outraged by the Republican's advocacy towards stupidity and the media playing along like it's an viable alternative view. One way I've dealt with it is to fix things around the house. I mean, it beats breaking things....
My God, why can't I find more people like you living in this universe. It's people like you that should be leading an Enlightenment Movement in this country, OWS has been a reasonable start, but the overwhelming stupidity and mental failure of the right wing just needs to be stamped out. For the survival of all mankind, the GOP should be abolished. God bless brother...
Dude. I know this is a serious subject, and you were genuinely upset. I share your fears and your consternation. But let's talk about what's important here -- that, my friend, was a Class-A effing hilarious rant. If you could get that upset more often, that would be swell. You can always calm yourself down at the end with the black lab.
Being so against humanity is such a waste. These corporations could do so much more to make the world a better place, but don't. As Simone Weil said, evil is boring and destructive.

He is all powerful and can do anything why wouldn't he improve His own creation? Don't you improve your work and do things better over time? I am not saying God couldn't have made us better before but that he is making us better now. Why ignore that? Certainly it's obvious.
mamaschafer 2 months ago in playlist Liked videos
Maybe evolution is PROOF there is a God..anyway, @Adam4tvs you have many good points in your rant and I agree that creationism doesn't disprove evolution. Just as evolution most definitely does not disprove creationism. ((ok, I am done sorry for hijacking the thread))
mamaschafer 2 months ago in playlist Liked videos

666norton420 2 months ago
@666norton420 You called it a theory in your last comment. Anyway, I admit that I don't have a lot of information but I was trying to make a point, evolution COULD be wrong and you shouldn't just dismiss other ideas without exploring them fully first. Also you shouldn't accept something as fact just because it has the most information, E=mc2 was disproved and that had a lot of evidence. How do you explain how life came into being? I though spontaneous generation was disproved over 100yrs ago?
broadvisionstudios 2 months ago
@broadvisionstudios Ugh.... a hypothesis(idea) is the first step, becoming a theory is the last. Theories and facts are not the same.
Creationism is an IDEA, one that has no evidence to support it, only claims that our limits in theories are proof of a god, which is absurd.
And no, e=mc2 was not disproved, nukes work dude... geeze. What might be in question is the speed of light.
And the start of organic matter has nothing to do with evolution, but i support the Panspermia theory.

Adam4tvs 3 months ago 4
@Adam4tvs search for Kent Hovind on youtube, he brings up some interesting points and theories to support creationism. I cannot believe that someone who appears to be as intelligent as you hasn't researched points against your own beliefs. I can't say I have a complete understanding of the theory of evolution, but I find it hard to believe that even after billions of years (or whatever it is) of evolution from a single cell, such things as DNA could have formed from random mutations.
broadvisionstudios 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios Yes, it is much much easier to say, "GOD DUN IT!", and then slap on Jersey shore and go prey to your deity.
Come on... Google creatonism, and read the wikipedia, you loon.
MrHams18 3 months ago
@MrHams18 do you really think that i would start an argument about this if i didnt know about creationism? I am a Christian. I have looked at both sides and to me personally i think that creationism, though it may seem far fetched to some, makes more sense than an explosion that, instead of destroys, creates. I think the idea of intelligence and emotion originating from a single cell that has no logical reason for existence is completely insane!
broadvisionstudios 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios "I think the idea of intelligence and emotion originating from a single cell that has no logical reason for existence is completely insane!"
That's because you have no brain cells.
BTW: The idea humans come from an egg seems insane to a kid brought up believing a stork delivers babies by airmail,....especially when he likes them sunny side up....
SpitfireOFatj 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios I gotta agree with OP. If you honestly believe there is "evidence" of creationism you really need to retake you basic high school level courses. Better yet, move out of your state to be on the safe side.
pjlehan 3 months ago
@pjlehan first of all, I am still in high school, secondly I am British. I think you should simply respect others views as I do yours and not try and insult my intelligence. I am not unintelligent, I just think that creationism makes more sense. Also, before you say there is no evidence you should actually make an effort to look for some. You would be suprised at what you can find.
broadvisionstudios 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios "I am not unintelligent, I just think that creationism makes more sense."
Only to people who are not intelligent.
SpitfireOFatj 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios I think your missing the point.
Belief in Creationism will only lead to you hurting the advancement of the Scientific Frontier.
pjlehan 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios "why can you not just accept religion, it is a belief as is the belief in evolution in science."
The two do not equate.
It's like saying it's equal to believe the North American continent is made up of a series of tectonic pates or it's the back of a giant turtle. (look it up)
SpitfireOFatj 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios BTW: We used to be "polite" and say, "believe what you want to believe" but that ended when you guys tried to infiltrate the schools with your creationist nonsense.
There's an old saying. Religion is like a penis. It's okay to be proud of it but don't wave it around in public and don't shove it down my kid's throat.
SpitfireOFatj 3 months ago
@broadvisionstudios There simply is no geological evidence of a world wide flood. You have been told there is geological evidence of a world wide flood, but it just ain't so. Localized floods-yes.
This gets to the heart of the problem. Your information sources are flawed. If one supports intelligent design or creationism they seek out information sources that confirm their beliefs.
Science has sought to disprove evolution for over 150 years. They can't.
Bozo1360 2 months ago
@Bozo1360 I did just state that the fact that the way the earth is layered could suggest a flood as silt would have built up and then separated to form layers, it would then have turned into sedimentary rock under pressure. There are different types of evolution so it depends which one you are on about, natural selection is real, you can test it. However, chemical evolution and the big bang theory along with the whole evolution from a single cell thing is flawed. I'll continue in another comment
broadvisionstudios 2 months ago
@Bozo1360 It is flawed because: life cannot spontaneously generate. The big bang theory is impossible as it breaks one of the basic laws of physics: you can only transfer energy not create it, where did the energy come from? and it if you believe in the big bang, where did matter come from? and where did all the different chemicals come from? you can explain hydrogen but hydrogen can't evolve into other elements. Therefore, evolution has already at least partially been disproved.
broadvisionstudios 2 months ago
@broadvisionstudios You have no idea what you're talking about man. Let me clarify things for you.
1) Biological evolution has NOTHING to do with Abiogenesis, nor the Big Bang.
2) We have no idea what came "before" the BB, nor if that's even a logical question, nor what the BB actually was. So currently, it doesn't break the 1st law of thermodynamics.
3) I don't think you know what chemicals are. Google.
4) Atoms other than Hydrogen and Helium are fused in these bodies called stars, then novi.
666norton420 2 months ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@666norton420 I am aware that the BB and Abiogenesis are not connected, but I was arguing for Creationism which is the creation of Earth and Man, it's quite hard to not bring in the big bang when arguing about this. And if we don't have any idea what the big bang is, why is it being taught in schools!? Thank you for clarifying the chemical thing I got a bit mixed up with the names there. And I'm a bit confused about the stars, where did they come from according to the big bang ect.?
broadvisionstudios 2 months ago
@broadvisionstudios They are not the same though. Separate fields, separate evidence for each theory. Search for my other comment about evolution.
What you need to do is look this shit up on Wiki, as me trying to explain in 500 character bits is moot.
If i were to have a point with you, it would simply be that you apparently don't know much at all about these subjects, therefor, you arguing against them is illogical.
If you need help digesting the information, i'll gladly answer your PMs. :)

Adam4tvs 3 months ago
Your problem is that you think your smarter than those GOP idiots. Of course the presidential candidates are puppets. They are owned (Shobama too) by the same corporations who want you to believe that you live in a democracy. Wall street got more from Shobama then they ever could have gotten from a GOP prez. The corporate powers promote idiot GOP candidates so you will vote for Shobama again rather than suffer the horror of an idiot GOP presidency. If you fall for it again
who is the idiot?

Just one thing,....outlet plates cost about 20 cents.....
SpitfireOFatj 3 months ago 3
@SpitfireOFatj LMFAO, best comment ever. Up until recently the microwave was in front of that and it was never seen. I installed the one over the stove and the ass clown that put the backsplash in in the 80s, put it so far up you can't put the faceplate on... Ya gotta move that outlet. And clearly I have other things to do like bitch about how stupid people are. I should rant about the stupid things in my house. LOL.
Adam4tvs 3 months ago
@Adam4tvs Here's a thought, hacksaw the bottom of the plate off to fit. i had the same problem after putting in granite countertops in a bathroom.
And, yes,....the Republican's base is now composed of the types that preface a bar fight with the phase, "Yew sound lak one o' dem college boys."....
SpitfireOFatj 3 months ago
@SpitfireOFatj If you saw what the ceiling looked like, you'd realize just how back burner that plate is. LMAO. Oh my house... There's an HGTV video of them redoing my bedroom in 2007 on my channel. The definition of fixer-upper. But that's good advice. I'll get that done quicker than the ceiling. :)

@Adam4tvs You are never really ever done doing home improvements because there's always another project waiting. @SpitfireOFatj A hacksaw will just split the brittle plastic of an outlet plate. He should use a Dremel tool and a cutting wheel. Just sayin.
Pangolinx1 3 months ago
@Pangolinx1 "A hacksaw will just split the brittle plastic of an outlet plate."
I've done dozens of these over the years.
What you do is turn it back side up and run the blade parallel across the whole plate. The idea is to cut a deep grove along the back of the plate and then you pick it up and snap it along the grove. Dress the edge with a file if needed. (Often it's a clean break.)
SpitfireOFatj 3 months ago
@SpitfireOFatj Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.
Pangolinx1 3 months ago
@SpitfireOFatj If you do that then the formica wins. Snip the metal trim piece and the backsplash too if you have to, I say. Better yet, miter it back around the plate like a boss. (you can tell I work by the hour)
woagas 3 months ago
@woagas "If you do that then the formica wins."
I know what you mean. If it was me I would get a new plastic box for existing constriction, cut the wall higher up for it and while I was at it, tap the wires for under counter lights. Hell, I'd even install in-cabinet lights that come on when you open them. All LED of course.

For fun.
Let's face it. He's right to be outraged by the Republican's advocacy towards stupidity and the media playing along like it's an viable alternative view. One way I've dealt with it is to fix things around the house. I mean, it beats breaking things....
