  • Hello! I've started a new channel (stephenapple) covering mostly Apple and Adobe products. I'll be updating it much more frequently than this one. Check it out!

  • how do you add layers in the first place??? what if you want to animate a jpg picture? like just move the mouth?

  • awsome video i just got flash like 2 days ago so im trying to get a hang of it but this helped alot thanks! but i have one problem when i got to move the eye lid down it grabs the whole thing and wont let me ajust it like in 3:30 if you could help that would be awsome thanks alot great vid! 5/5

  • right! What you want to do is move your cursor over the edge of the object. Wait for your cursor to change to a curved line, indicating you've reached the edge. Then click and drag!

If the object you are working on is a symbol, double click to edit it's internal objects.

  • awsome thanks also when i double click it to fix the internal objects how do i return it back to the normal editing where its not faded anymore?

  • either double click outside of the object you are editing (in the gray area) or click back using the navigation under the timeline.

  • awsome thanks alot

  • Thanks dude! I just got flash and when i first used it I only used 1 layer xD

  • why do you need a layer for each part of drawing

  • The layers help you separate the elements of the drawing. Especially when working with an animation. Revealing and locking different layers helps you only select the objects you need.

  • ey, man when I press the Create Motion Tween it says " The tween could not be applied to some of the selected frames. This could be to frames containing ActionScript, multiple objects, non-tweenable objects, or being in a layer that could not be tween layer" I don't now what to do!

  • Hmm, interesting... I can't say I've run into the problem recently enough to remember what to fix. I can't reenact the problem. The best thing to do when you run into problems like that is to save the version you are working on, then take a few steps back. Sometimes I have to completely start a project over (Especially when Action Scripting).

  • dude i know u got an idea on how to do flash...but do somethin about the screen following the mouse...i couldnt see wat ur doing!!!

  • Thanks, yeah unfortunately in order to keep the size of the video down for the screen capture it has to capture at a low frame rate. Sorry!

  • I have no idea what your doing, I cant even get to that part. I wish you started from the beginning.

  • Hey, Check in the "More From: stephenstutorials" drop down on the right right above "related videos". You can find all the videos there.

  • you should try looking at the help section within the program its good for people who are new to flash

  • nicely done dude!

  • Lol You hardly know what you're doing.

  • Sorry, that's the best I got! I wish I could have provided more help...
