Perfect dark, but, there's just something about this game that no other game had. Not sure what it is, but I only saw halo with that and that is why I think Halo is my all time favorite game series. The only other games that came close were Mass Effect, Half-life, and Team fortress 2. Not saying all those games are crap, they're amazing, but still, Halo had something no other game had, and I guess that's why I like it so much

I didnt care much for Reach's music, 3 wasnt anything special either. It was Halo 1 and 2 that really did the series justice.

Also, from halo 3, the soundtracks were good, but they were simply different versions of the original halo 1 +2 OSTs. I just realized that my favorite halo 3 soundtrack was a remake of the Truth and reconciliation suite, it simply starts at 1:50 on that one.

@zkrunner117 hey, halo 3 was great. sure 1 and 2 were amazing, but i think each game actually had it's own great feel. personally, every game had it's amazing songs, some were re-used songs but in general, i would never say one game had a superior soundtrack. i don't get why people seem to hold halo 3 lower than the other 2. reach i understand, great graphics, good music, blech gameplay. i mean, it was a purposeful downgrade.

@zkrunner117 3 was better than 2. 2 was more original but it was less halo like. i do agree that some of martin odonell's best were in halo 2, such as "Peril", "ghosts of reach", and "delta halo suite", but overall i think the halo 3 sounddtrack was better. halo ce is obviously best of all.

@zkrunner117 Even then, Halo 2's OST was poorly implemented ingame. I replayed it recently and I noticed the music barely ever plays; most of the game you'll just be hearing sound effects.

Halo 1's OST was perfect, since it fit the tone well, was enjoyable to listen to out of game and played at all the right moments.
