I dont have yamalube where I live. Wich other oils can I use? Does it has to be sintetic oil? The most available option I have is MOTUL brand. What specs should I be concerned of when I buy oil. My bike its a YZ250f. I hope you can help me. Thanx!
@alanmorfin - your manual will specify the types of motor oil. As long as it is made for motorcycles specifically you will be fine. I have known plenty of people that have run car motor oil with no problems, but they may not be as good on motorcycle clutches.
this has nothing to do with the vid but what do i do when i pop a wheelie and my foorks make a thump nois like i bottomed out but it makes that noise when it comes off the ground
hi there, great video, just wondering why you drop the oil from two separate places but only fill in one? how odes the oil get from the engine to the other tank ? cheers
@samkirka - your oil pump puts it back in the tank. This is a "dry sump" oiling system. Most the oil is stored in the tank while the bike is running. Drain in 2 places, but only add oil to one.
thanks.when i recently changed my oil i only took out the drain bolt on th right side of the engine and the bike only took about 500ml of oil.i was also wondering what is the second drain bolt for?is it for the oil that is used for transmission fluid?
@BCstuntsandcomedy - I don't know what bike you have, but if you have a wr like in the video, the other drain is for the oil reservoir (The older WR's stored the oil in the frame). This is called a dry-sump sysstem. it is also motor oil that circulates through the motor. the oil is always flowing from the reservoir to the engine and back. You need to drain both, otherwise you will be mixing your new oil with the old oil.
i am buying a 2006 yz250f and it has a wet sump conversion kit on it and it does not have the oil tank on the front of the frame like at 0:54 is that taken off for the kit
thanks a lot for the video my kx250f is in the shop so the owner of the shop let me barrow his bike and its a yz250f and i need to change the oil and i didn't know there was 20 million things you had to do to get the oil out of the feakin thing so i figured id look it up on the interneta and here it is.......

I'm not happy that I bought my bike used, even though I got a good deal on it it had some problems that I didn't notice when I test rode it.

Is it okay if I turn my yzf on its side so I don't get oil everywhere when I am changing the oil filter?
kawisaregreen120 2 months ago in playlist How to
@kawisaregreen120 - you bet you can.
RockyMountainATVMC 1 month ago
Thanks for that. I wasnt too sure about leaving tank air bleed open while refilling and start up to get the oil to refill the tank.
But you answered that..
Cheers.

how many milliliters of oil does a wr take.mine a 2008 and is the aluminum frame wr.
BCstuntsandcomedy 8 months ago
@BCstuntsandcomedy - Assuming you have a 2008 WR250f - It takes 1100 ML without a filter change and 1200 with a filter change.

nickfranzitta238 8 months ago
@nickfranzitta238 - refer to your owner's manual for the manufacturer's recomendations. I change my WR250f's oil every 200 miles.
RockyMountainATVMC 8 months ago
@jgitt23 1100 ml with filter change, 1050 ml without filter change

i am going to buy a couple of tusk oil filters for my ttr230. are they reusable or do you just chuck the old one out and put a new one in
ben1996ful 9 months ago
@ben1996ful - they are not reusable. Reusable filters do not filter as good as the disposable paper filters.
