I don't think the general public were as aware of the real danger that exists in conditions like this, before this incident. There tends to be an illusion of safety because of the popularity of the route ( it was dribbles?) . It is a tragic loss of life and hits hard in a place so close to home. Admittedly, i was surprised to hear about this, i thought it was confused for the sphinx, but clearly, this is hyalite. My Condolences go out to the families and individuals of everyone involved.
