I love old technology. Seems like these old TVs were designed with servicing in mind, unlike today's technology which is all throw away when it breaks.

What do you think could be the problem with a solid state crt tv that loses its full contrast and fades to white seconds after turning it on. This happens on each power cycle. I've been tempted to blame it on a bad cermet or cap but it doesn't seem to be the case after a quick inspection. The "neck board" seems fine as well. Any ideas?

I am a big fan of old console tv's, and don't seem to be having any luck finding one. Can anyone tell me were the best place to look is? Also does anyone know of any sellers in Texas?
