  • where do u get manuscript paper at

  • How far away is the examing line usually?

  • I found this very helpful! I will be coming to this when I get to the drawing stage of my Manga.

  • What if I use printer paper? That's all I have at the moment...

  • @TheLegitReaper Wait... Maybe I can find a manuscript paper outline on the internet and print it out onto the printer paper... Hmm...

  • @TheLegitReaper If you're going to print it, it's going to be reduced to the size of the book. so use a size bigger than the final product but with the same proportions, more or less.

  • Two question's... Where are you from?, and Where did you get the manga?

I can never find it in the correct language.

  • So between each lines, how long it is?

  • I don't know that there was three! Now I do

  • what manga was that?

  • where do you get that paper

  • Ok so my question is if the framing line is basically the normal range for the size of the panel, does that mean that the panels HAVE to align with the dotted line?Cuz I've gotten 6 chapters fully inked of my own works and alot of the panels don't align with that dotted line and it's been bugging me since i started.

  • where do you get manuscript paper?

  • You didnt explain the inches from the border to finishing lines or anything. thats kinda like the most important part right?

  • Thank's man you where really helpfull!

  • Where can you get the manuscript paper?

  • i noticed the manga was in Japanese....CAN U READ JAPANESE?!?!

  • So wait we HAVE to have that paper and we HAVE to draw out all of the panels? I always thought like people photoshopped it to make it look that way...

  • where did you buy your brush pen? and what manga is that one, i couldn't hear the name? sorry for my bad english and thaks for your vids

  • thanks!

  • also how do you kno wherre to put all the lines

  • is your manga out

  • It doesn't matter what kind of paper you're using right?

  • @rgGamerfreak69 if you dont have manuscript paper at least use bristol paper

  • can u tell us the measerments for those lines

  • i have everything i just need deleter paper

  • Wow... There's so much to do when making a manga, and so much materials needed...

  • omg thank the lord you made this cuz i bought some paper today and i had no idea why the hell it had all those lines i got kinda scared THANK YOU!!!!!

  • @Vampirelove300 thx! and subcribe! haha

  • @mngapro hahah i will!!! though i have a question the blue lines are very dark wont they show up when i scan my page if i draw over them O.o???

  • @Vampirelove300 no the blue lines are printed on the page in non-photo blue ink so its made so they dont show up in printing

  • @mngapro OOOOHHHH okay thats awsome!!! one more question im so sorry if im annoying you -_-" but the paper is sooo big where do i find a scanner to scan it in the computer O.o" TT^TT

  • @Vampirelove300 they have scanners where u can just feed the paper through without laying it on a scanner bed which kinda looks like a paper shredder, but those are super expensive. for now all i can suggest is going to a kinkos or copy shop :(

  • @mngapro oh all righty then so sorry if a botherd you -__- and thank you very much for the help!!! and thank you for your time :D

  • Have you ever tried using Manga Studio? I might help speed things up for you.

  • @EasyKnightStudio i have it but never touch it haha dont like working digital when doing manga, most of the fun for me comes out of doing everything with my own hands

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU ARE PLANING TO MAKE AMNGA BUT DON'T HAVE ANY EQUIPMENT (T _ T)

  • @PLABONDRAGONZ well mine is thumbs up but i dont have deleter4 paper

  • @PLABONDRAGONZ i have the opposite problem XD

  • @ilikepieism :D

  • ammm.... what's the distance between the lines...for example on a B4 paper?

  • dang i finaly found video like yours! this was really a good a video man do more :D

It would be awesome you could explain us how to choose our case o= like i know that for comic manga we can simply use rectable but i dont know for the other what to choose

  • 1st time I watched it: WOW! This is so helpful!

2nd time: hmm. Now that I understand anything about paneling I can start drawing manga! ^...^

3rd time (after I start drawing) : Wait what? I don't understand! What is he talking about?! 0_0" I'm confused...

Then I've read a manga online and I was like "Ooooooooh! I got it!"

  • wats that mat that you draw on?

  • @konoha4dawin I think it's a cutting mat. ^_^

  • Thank-you for explaining it so well! I haven't found a video that explained it so good, and now the mystery of the lines is solved, ahahaha. Thank-you!! And very well explained!

And random sidenote: Takeshi Obata is amazing. The guy's sense of speed and action and paneling just wows me.

And the center folding is new to me. I learned a lot by this video!

  • somebody please tell me what s the comic name

  • I see... btw, heard about the vellum board?

is it a manuscript paper also or a different one?

  • Question: Is the manuscript paper smooth like a book paper?

  • @saspwned12 its smooth like bristol paper yes. not so much like a book though

  • thanks for breakin it down! for me its always getting stuck on the paneling part.. your using deleter paper right?

  • so this is how you panel when your publishing a manga for real? cause i been having trouble with the paneling and i want to publish my work too but need to make sure if the paneling im using is right so when im paneling i have to panel like this or parts will be cut out? cause i think i saw many mangakas before not paneling this way i really want to do this right!

  • You've a graphgear! i had one but I think i broke it by accident D:

-I wish i could speak Japanese. How did you do to learn it? Did you take classes or did you use Rosetta Stone?

  • Nice vid i had alot of trouble drawing panels especially the two-page panels thanks for breaking it down and if your in the process of creating a manga good luck !

  • @xero66cat YW :D

  • could you get these material at the hobby lobby? And when did you start drawing?

  • @KingScorpio93 started drawing in 2nd grade but it wasnt manga at first and ive never heard of the hobby lobby

  • @mngapro O well its this store where I live and from what my teacher told me they sell all kinds of art material from high grade material to low grade.

  • could you get these material at the hobby lobby?

  • the finishing line is almost like the "bleed" for all your panel. in graphic design we have a "bleed" the will be cut off in the cutting area. it is almost used as if you want the colour to go to the edge of the paper.

  • Mngapro, let me correct this, there's frame line, then cut off line, then bleeding line. That's how these thing works, same like Magazine Ad, leaflet, brochure and all. You interpreted it wrong bro, I'm a graphic designer and a storyboard artist, now in a process publishing my own comic too.

  • hey, um.. what's your manga book or is it a series?

  • THANKS !!!

  • Really great video, good and usefull tips :). When you took the Ral Grad book out and started bending it over and drawing a light line in it i was like "Oh no i cant believe he did that" xD lol, i take very good care of my books, bending them over would give them small bend marks outside, not good xD. Anyway, the video helped me alot :).

  • This was really helpful'. I've been looking for something like this all this time ^^! Thanks.

Another question, i hope you don't mind. Do you live in ny, because i buy manga to practice pose and all that at Book Off :D...so i was wondering... n.n

  • where did you get the japanese version of Ral Grad from? Japan? Internet?

  • @strawberrybankai12 i got it from a store called "Book Off" its a japanese book store that sells mostly used book and in the manga section they have a huge ammount of manga for $1.00! but im sure u can also get it on ebay or amazon

  • @mngapro cool thanks can also tell where I can buy all of the manga equipment stuff e.g manuscript paper, the G-pen, tones

  • dude good choice of reference manga i love Obata's art style

  • where can I get this manuscripting paper

  • what are the meassurement for the manuscrip format?

  • what about dialog baloons? in one of the pages you showed from the ralgard manga the panel was right on the fram line, but the baloon was a little farther out.....

i suck at placing my baloons, i ussually forget there has to be baloons! haha

  • What size paper do you use for the name?

  • is that that one manga where in the beginning where the boy was walking home from school or to school and he was eating ice cream and he met this cute girl and she took his ice cream and ate it and he was thinking to himself that its a direct kiss lol

  • Thanx man this is really helpful, i'm startin a manga myself and i never really got how to use manuscript paper, but i was wondering when u make name , i knpw its supposed to be short like 5 pages, so do u get a whole 25 pages worth of ideas into like 5 pages???

  • Thanks dude, this helped ALOT. I've been trying to make pannels for a while now but could never really find a method to stick with. But after I got the right supplies and this tutorial it helped majorly. I'm even applying it now as I type.
