  • How Nostalgic!

  • sooooo long ago since the leafs had a good team, must suck to be a leafs fan,oh wait this their year with Tim Connoly leading them to the cup.ha

  • When Leafs decided to sign Joseph before the 1999 season, they must have only looked at his Game 7 performances in 1st round of playoffs for Edmonton against Dallas in 1997 and Colorado in 1998 and disregarded the rest of his playoff resume in the belief that he had potential to be among the top ranks of NHL netminders and help get Toronto over the hump but Cujo was not the final piece of the puzzle for any of the teams that he played on.

  • This is a classic leafs goal, I am tired of waiting for it to happen!

  • It's a shame all these great old hockey barns are gone now.

  • gord miller looks the exact same as he does now

  • Hard to believe Toronto was in the Western/Campbell Conference at one point.

  • The year of the fix.

  • Great to see Pat Burns again ...:-(

  • ...Great times friends!!...

  • 6:45 EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did the leafs go on to win the cup that year?

  • @laportehabs yeah, they won 10 cups in a row

  • @laportehabs no they lost to gretzky and the kings in the conference final

  • @guitardude99999 I'm pretty sure it was a rhetorical question lol... that guy is obviously a Habs fan talking shit cuz they won it that year. I hate the Habs, but Roy was amazing that year. Would've been awesome to see a Leafs/Habs final.

  • @laportehabs Well, if it wasn't for Kerry Fraser, the Leafs might have advanced, and your Habs wouldn't have found an illegal stick on the Leafs which helped your Habs win the Cup!

  • the goal 6:41, the killer kills the blues......

  • we should wear those old jerseys :)

  • @up27a they do wear very similar jerseys now. ;)

  • as far as im concerned .. this was the last time toronto showed any effort in any capacity to produce a winning team to go to the stanley cup .. tho the sundin years were good.. they wouldnt build a team around him. i truly enjoyed this season and playoff run more than any other before or since. it was one gutsy talented team. no slackers then. not a one. and if you notice many players before coming to toronto and traded since.. have been on cup winning team. conspiracy or curse..lol jk.

  • Preety Sick goal

  • R.I.P. Pat Burns R.I.P. Peter Zezel!

  • R.I.P. Pat Burns

  • The goal is at 6:50 just so you guys don't waste your time waiting

  • ITS LEAVES! NOT LEAFS! Don't you have any english education in so-called "Canada?"

  • @mujinnokoya Actually, "Leafs" is grammatically correct. Let me explain. The official name of the team is the 'Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club'. (Note: the word "Leaf" is not plural.) Because the word "Leaf" is used as a proper noun, in this case the name of the team, you don't change around the letters in its plural form, but just add an s.

  • @harrison401

The Canadian military is VASTLY inferior to the American military in not only size, but also in courage and spirit.

  • @mujinnokoya Wow, that's random. But i guess I'll try to respond. Obviously Canada's military is going to be smaller, we only have 1/10 of the Unites States' population. And courage and spirit? Tell that to the Canadian troops on D-Day who advanced further into Nazi occupied France than the USA and Great Britain combined. All of this with a smaller group of soldiers. If it wasn't courage and spirit that gave them strength, I don't know what it was.

  • @mujinnokoya congratulations, you win the dumbest poster on youtube award. Your family must be so proud.

  • @mujinnokoya what's that supposed to mean, " so-called 'Canada' " ??? LOL did somebody tell you thats not the name of the country? or do you just not know how to communicate in english as well? Yeah Im sure you guys are very proud of your military. You kill a lot of people, and spend all the money you don't even have to do so. Good Job on that one! Why dont you go to google and type in "USA debt" and a live ticker should appear and show the thousands of dollars you're losing per second

  • @geraci89 I googled that shit. Holy fuck. I'm speechless. America sucks!

  • @mujinnokoya Its Leafs moron, its just a name of a team it can be a made up word, whats a disgrace are the other poorly named teams outside the original 6 like crappy names like the thrashers, predators, pathers, cant compare them to names like- Maple Leafs, Bruins, Canadiens, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Rangers

  • One of my favorite leaf goals. Gougie had heart.

  • this was back when hockey was fun to watch, now all the rules are changing making it gay and soft

  • lol what st. louis blues AND the leafs in the playoffs?!?

  • That was an incredible goal. Wow.

  • I totally remember this game.

  • Monday, May 3, 1993.

  • bob cole is amazing never mind the goal.

bob cole + the fans, HOLY

  • @wtfusername100 Wow listening back on this makes me sad because he is so much older now and his voice is so much weaker :( oh well

  • whos in net for toronto?

  • potvin, i believe.

  • Felix Potvin.

  • the good days

  • i like that maple leaf gardens used to be smaller than regulation ice since it was grandfathered in before they had regulations.

  • That goal still gives me chills. So incredible! I miss the Gardens man!

  • @moviecodswallop ya the acc and the bell centre don't have the old feeling of the gardens or the forum. so much more character in the old arenas

  • that was some seriously siiiiick jim-jammin razzle-dazzle danglin right there

  • I did laps around my apartment on Yonge st!

  • This was a classic. I was 10 years old at the time and I remember staying up late on a school night to watch it. I was so happy when Gilmour scored.

  • actually darren puppa was the backup

  • more exciting then 67

  • who was the leaf's goalie at this time, felix potvan?

  • jonas gustavvson

  • LMFAO i meant in the video..

  • lol

    ok :)

  • Felix Potvin

    Damian Rhodeswas the back up.

  • One of the most memorable and famous goals in Leafs history. I always see this goal on any top 10 with anything to do with the Leafs with goals or playoffs.

  • where can i find these games in their entirety.

  • In the Top 10 Leafs Goals of ALL-TIME!

  • This is probably still my favorite all-time Gilmour goal. :D

Damn the Leafs were so fucking fun and exciting to watch that year with some of the most memorable Leafs moments ever. This goal, Foligno goal, Borchevsky in game 7 against the Wings. That was an awesome time!

And I'm still pissed at Gretzky that he highsticked Gilmour in game 6 and then fucked the Leafs up in game 7. =( Bastard ruined what could have been an AMAZING one for the ages Cup finals between the Leafs and the Habs. >:(

  • wow what a move

  • HAHA. leafs suck this year. GO KIIIIIIIINGS!!!!!!!

  • Ummm their not going to to go anywhere soon either.

  • they suck

  • This had to be the best leafs team since the cup winners in 67! I don't think we'll be seeing a team that good for quite some time the way things are going.

  • DOUGY!

  • Forget Gretzky!! This is the Greatest goal of all time! Thanks for sharing!

  • Im a Habs fan and am a Leaf hater, but '93 was very fun as a hockey fan...man just watch Cujo on that goal..Dougie fucked him right up.

  • [7:52] PUPPA!

  • I love Bob Cole. Best announcer in sports.

  • not anymore. now hes delayed by like 20 seconds lol

  • I still love the annoucing. I was watching this back when I was 4 years old!

  • Cujo was amazing in that series. It should have gone about 5 games max if not for Joseph.

  • absolutely agree

  • I wonder if the leafs could have beat the canadiens that year. I think I recall the games between them that year being close but not sure.

  • it would have been a classic

  • I think so, the Habs had one of the easiest routes to the cup ever that year. That was probably one of the worst Hab teams to ever win the cup imo. Not that they were terrible or anything.

  • @brokenbrainz1 I couldn't think of a more stupid comment. They had a core of young players, grinders, and a future hall of fame goalie. If you look back at the Quebec series in round 1, it was hardly an easy road. Look at that Quebec team and tell me they weren't stacked (Joe Sakic, Mats Sundin, Owen Nolan, Steve Duchesne). Now looking at the Habs, they had Damphouse, Muller, Bellows, Leclair, Desjardins. All of those players were stars before or after they came to the Habs.

  • i loved the cat!

  • Has anyone ever noticed that back in the day, just about if not everyteam had not one but multiple big name or extremely well known players on their team? Now a days there is only one well known player per team...

the old days were better, and everything bad that has happened to hockey is Bettmans fault...

  • It's because free agency and salary cap wasn't as big of an issue.

  • plus the new rules enforcing less fighting and penalties means less big names and role players for the enforcers. i think guys like tucker, kronwall, avery (maybe), and other tough guys would have a much bigger role without those rules.

  • @euro3b

blame the salary cap. before 2004 some teams could have star players on one line if they had money. for example colorado had forsberg, sakic, and hejduk back then and the wings with shanahan, yzerman, hull....etc. its just not possible in today's leage anymore.

  • @jfdhjgdh2010 exactly.... teams were stacked with players before the lockout

  • @euro3b thank you gary bettman is a hack, and a retard he has runned a once great league into the ground or close to it. it seem's that early 90's and 80's and even 70's hockey was so much better.

  • @euro3b well the salary cap came in in 2005/2006 so its harder to get more than one or 2 great players, unless your detroit.. anything is possible...

  • I REMEMBER THIS!!!

  • I remember this game like it was yesterday...I was 9 years old and I stayed up really late to watch this, almost fell asleep a few times. I think it was a school night lol.

  • The leafs got robbed that year. The NHL always kissed gretzky's ass. I remember being so tired at school the next day cause I stayed up to watch this game

  • The Leafs had a great team back then. They should have beaten the Kings.

  • They REALLY should have, its because of that damn High Stick by Wayne Gretzky on Doug Gilmour.

    I felt like crying.

    :(

  • Holy fuck. The only leafs goal I've ever liked.

  • Holy fuck. The only Youtube username ive liked.

  • how are the blues facing the leafs??

  • they used to be in the west conf.

  • I remember this game like it was yesterday. I get a warm feeling inside whenever I see it or think about it. This was the same game Wendel Clark almost removed Cujo's head from his body with that laser wrist shot. I was 12 years old but I remember it like it was only a few years ago. Isn't it weird that the game was before the internet age? It's funny looking at the boards and seeing no websites. Kwazy

  • The game where Clark almost killed Jospeh was game 7, not this one.

  • If the Leafs ever do win I want all leaf fans to smash shop windows in Toronto and fight cops.

  • Every leaf fan will remember that one. What makes me mad is that it was there year. But the leafs were cheated by the La Kings when he got cut and the ref was an asshole... and Montreal won the cup.. when the leafs own Montreal that year in the regular season... WTF

  • sweet vid, brought tears to my eyes reliving that...i was a teenager when dougie scored that one...

  • I could quote you on that because I was 19 when I saw that goal live on tv. What a game, what a goal, what a memory.

  • This was truely the greatest Leaf year I have ever seen Gilmour's ot winner, Borechevky's game 7 ot winner, Potvin's great goaltending, and Clark's hat trick against the Kings. It's a dam shame Frasier and Dick head Greztky screwed the leafs. We wudve beat Montreal and won another cup.

  • if anyone can tell me what shibiblit means first ill write their name on my channel

  • i remember that game... i was jumpin up and down and screamin...holy shit thaat was awsome

  • what is the song at 3:28 ?

  • when the leafs win i want all of us leaf fans who waited for so long to carry the c.n tower down young street like its the cup....lol

  • haha im with you

  • too bad its potvin in the net you fuckin dummies ???? quit talkin about cujo he went nowhere fast

  • cujo was in net for St .Louis . you need to calm down buddy !

  • fuck off greek faggot!!

  • i can't believe how good cujo was then... if he was only like that know... he could replce toskala and be our starter

  • I got a boner!

  • oh ya that gilmour goal i love it!

  • FUCK THE HABS !!!!!!! GO LEAFS GO !!!!!

  • fuck you kerry....should be(kerri) fraser you fucking prick ( fan of detroit). you didnt see that stick come up in game 6....nor did your damn linesmen. you pansies just didnt have the balls to call 5 and a game to Gretzky. if i couild have got a lighter to that ball of hairspray that you call hair i would have caught you on fire you asshole so you could see how it feels to GET BURNED. rot in hell fraser .

  • *SIGH* While it makes me happy to watch my boys when they were at their best, it makes me sad as well, because there hasn't been a Maple Leaf team since with that much heart, or grit. Man, I miss that team! Nice to see some of those guys being honored now - they were the best!

  • atta boy Killer! Number to the rafters January 31 - well deserved!

Anyone else remember how the T.O. media was monitoring his weight and diet because of how many minutes he was playing? Heart and soul player right there.

And yup, woulda had the cup if Gretzky was called on the high stick...thank you Kerry Fraser, you pathetic little man.

  • ahh the 'old school' team... dougie gilmour, dave andrecheuk (?) dave ellet, jamie mccoun (the geezer!), peter zezel, wendel clark.. felix the cat potvin... +many more.

    man i miss those guys!

  • Great clip. I love old classic footage of MLG.

    Thanks for uploading it.

  • Leetch had an almost identical goal in Game 7 against the Devils in 1994.

  • Oh look.. Ellett... Yeah... He's going to be important against the Kings isn't he? ... hahahahahaha just playing Leafs fans, don't have any strokes.

  • i remember listening to this as a 14 year old...trying not to fall asleep. as a blues fan i was pissed, but what a game.

  • One of my favorite goals. Being a Pens fan, it bears mentioning that the 1993 Penguins team was by far the best in hockey. They closed the season on an NHL record 17 game winning streak and were looking at their 3rd straight title until David @!#$ Volek ruined everything.

  • No thanks to that cocksucker shit referee Kerry "the Fairy" Fraser.

  • this should of been our year...gretzky should of got the high stick call and we would of won in overtime..and then beat montreal in finals. GO LEAFS GO!

  • Hahahaaaaaaaaaahaha, the team you couldn't beat in 7 games we beat in 5, in fact we dominated them.

  • "we"...ummm were you on the Habs in 93 fool?

  • we were good yes. Gretzky should have been tossed and we would have won the series. could you imagine the anarchy and riots along the 401 during that leafs/habs final? fucking awesome.

  • WOW!!!

    go leafs go!!!!!!!!!

  • FUCKIN BEST GOAL EVER!

  • been a leafs fan whole life, not very good life, never see us win once but we got heart.

  • goddam... i was at that game. box seats. it was an oven in there.

  • Gilmour!@#$% Solo job!

  • lol the leafs are so terrible :o

  • I can hear the old goal horn faintly when Gilmour scored.

  • what song is played at 5:30

  • sunshine of your love by cream

  • they sat toronto has quiet fans we only get loud when it counts go leafs go

  • man gives me chills every time

  • i know ... same lol

  • The best Leafs teams ever. All heart baby, all heart. Bring back Maple Leaf Gardens. Fuck Gretzky.

  • If Gretzky didnt high stick Gilmour we would have won the cup

  • ges who won the cup that year. the best team ever

  • I miss MLG...why can't they use it for jr hockey, the seats are gutted out, but if some millionair buys it and brings in new seats then it would bring the gardens back to life!

  • Because the building is crumbling and needs millions of dollars spent on it before anybody is actually allowed to step foot into it. It's sad to see the old building slowly disintegrate. If it was not for the buildings historical tag it would have already been taken to the ground with a wrecking ball.

  • MlSE owns it, and they are leaving it the way it is! The owner of the Senators wanted to buy it and they told him to screw off, he wanted to move one of OHL clubs into there, but they wouldn't budge either. No wonder the leafs suck! Making money is more worth than championships.

  • MLSE does not own it, Loblaws owns it.

It is also not good business to sell your property to a competitor. If Melnyk owned it he would be running competition to MLSE right in their own back yard. Why allow Melnyk to steal events away from the ACC?

Loblaws has plans to do something with it but they are in a bit of a financial crunch right now and are holding off until they get their books straightened out.

  • The Leafs will be the worst team in the league this year, but they won't win the Draft Lottery.

  • you dont know hockey

  • That was an amazing goal. The battle between Cujo & Potvin was some of the best goaltending I have ever seen.

  • What a goal. What a man. What a team we had for those two glorious years.

Heart and soul players like Clark, Gilmour, Gill, Rouse, Ellett, Zezel, Foligno. Man, we were so close. Motherfuck Gretzky.

  • GILMOUR!!!!! Sick goal, sick call. love it

  • the best leaf team of our time god save the leafs

  • I long for games like these again. Wilson for Coach!!, Burke for GM!! (only in a fairy tail).

  • This is one of my favorite goals ever...way to go Killer

  • too bad they cant do anything anymore

  • lovin' bob and harry. i miss them.

  • wow what a goal

  • Gilmour: my beat in the 90's...Had his shirt..Number 93!!!!!!!!!

  • greatest goal ever.

  • this city will probably never see a team like this for quite sometime!!! this 93 leaf team played with heart with gilmour and clark being the backbone of this team. it's also nice to see an arena with so much noise from it's fans!!! ACC seems to be dwarfed by the 'ol maple leaf gardens!!!

  • crazy!

  • I've always hated the Leafs, hated Gilmour too, but looking back all these years later...that was a pretty sweet move he made on Joseph (who was lights out for the Blues for most of this series)

  • Goalies looked so much smaller in the early 90's...If only they could stop abusing the size of pads nowadays...

  • Also, the best moment in this clip is when Gilmour and Clark get all excited after the goal is scored for sure.

  • thatz when leafs were good:(

  • Yeah, sadly it's going to be awhile before the Leafs are this good again. Ferguson screwed them up royally the past few years.

  • well I dunno, Salvation is on its way, there breaking there backs trying to get Burke for the new GM

  • 92-93 was a good year to be a sports fan in toronto... the Jays were rockin and the Leafs were really competitive too

  • what a great year that was, best season of my lifetime too. 1992-93 will stand as the closest we've come to winning the cup since 67'. I couldn't sleep the night we lost.

  • one of the best leafs teams ever

  • This is the most talented Leafs team that I have seen during my lifetime. Clark, Gilmour, Andreychuck, Gartner, Ellett, a young Felix Potvin, and more. It's a damn shame that they had a bad break in the LA series. That would have been the greatest cup final of all time, Leafs vs Canadiens... I really feel for these guys but they are the best in my book!

  • Gartner wasn't with the leafs for that series. If you remember when we were screwed by Kerry Frasier in Game 6 of the LA series, Glen Anderson took a penalty in the last minute of the third period. Anderson was traded the next year for Gartner

  • I agree with ilgeah555. It would've been great to see a Leafs-Habs Cup final in '93.

  • well clearly i'll be 67 years old before i ever see anything even close to this excitement again as a leafs fan

  • Leafs need to draft another player like Clark a grinder who can score, and then make a trade the the gilmour one, but with t
