hey HD u said u build roaches to be safe. but do u think defending with zergling works good as well? cause i want to transition to mutas asap and if i build roaches i loose quite some gas which i could have spend mutas. so whats ur opinion? more spine crawler and lings or less spine crawler and roaches and transition to mutas a bit later.

do you group both your hatcheries into one control group or do you keep them separate? ALso how do you overcome the rally point issue? You want your drones to goto the mins but your units to move away from your minerals into the main? How do you overcome this problem of needing to put your drones and fighting units in separate places? Do you rally point for your units then move your drones individually when they hatch?

@SilentShadowLT YES. THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS YES. I can't say much abt the timing, but generally, ALWAYS get it. Why? Drops. Mobility. Scouting. Placement of overlords to generate creep and spread out your effective map vision. ALWAYS get it. Just get it at a time that's comfortable.

@Jimmyboy2021; I bet you never played zerg, Broodlords takes even longer to get than Ultralisk AND they end up costing just almost as much... They simply CANNOT come in quickly. Even if you were to rush straight to broodlords, by the time you have 1, you can consider the game lost. If you go roach and Hydra 'til then, like you say, then by the time the Broods come in, its late game.

He also just tabs between multiple control groups unnecessarily. Higher apm will make people think that you're a better player than you really are. Not saying he's a bad player, but he's definitely overly concerned with how good people think he is.

@lousycactus I dont think its so much to pad the apm, its to get your body and mind into a more frantic/faster state so you can mutlitask better.

Plus, if you only do one move command, I think you'll find that you misclick more often than you'd think, many move commands mean you KNOW the units are on their way.

@o652300 You need to harrass and out macro. Get basic burrow and tunneling claws for roach and/or the move burrow for infester. With roach do quick pop ups to nail thors/siege tanks. Do infester pop up to mind control thor/fungal growth marines

Personaly i favor ultralisks and when the enemy terran makes ALOT of thors then a sudden switch in tech to broodlords owns him (btw for the guys who dont know broodlings get upgrades from the evo chamber so its better imo to get ultras first)

@o652300 yeah thats a really good point, air attack doesn't work for brood lords. but you need to get ground carpace and air carpace for both the broodlings and brood lords. i was thinking since brood lords are slow, some queens and a overlord would be good to include in that. queen with spine upgrades to own air, overlords to drop creep and have the queen poop out creep tumors for the ultras and other queens

@d3008 I'm a top 800 player on the American server. I find that lots of infesters and zerglings and a lot of mutas work well against terran mech. I like to get 10 or so mutas just to kill their economy if they push out, which will make them turtle which means you get to expand 2-3 times. Then i just pump out ling/infester until i have 7 or so infester (fully up-ed) then i pump mutas while the hive is morphing. Normally i find i'm maxxed before ultras come out, but with 5 base ultras come easely

mutaLing forces protoss into 2 or 3 bases while you expand all over the place. Usually i switch into Ultralisks since Protoss will usually go stalkers or high templar.

It is more recently being used more and more in the diamond league against zerg because it is so effective. Since Phoenixes get outproduced by mutas so much, Phoenixes are useless. When Protoss had 3-5 Phoenixes, you should have 10 mutas and a shitload of lings. If he invests too heavily in Phoenixes, that's even better for your lings. Seriously, Phoenixes are not a counter to large numbers of mutas. Phoenixes are shit, a poor excuse for Corsairs.

@dksled I'd say you really need to tailor it to what the opponent is using. This can work, but if they go Thor heavy it can cause problems if you don't control your mutas properly (if they go heavy Thor and you're already massing mutas, I'd suggest transitioning to broodlords). Corruptors work very well on battlecruisers, and banelings can be good against the M&M ball (since you already have all those zerglings).

there's one problem with this build... high templars, now a days every protoss player use high templar, and mass ling just melts away, if i saw this build, i go all in for high templar... in most cases high templar works for most late games.
