  • 993 even! : (

  • 933 : Favourite Porsche of all time and the best one of all time, if we find one in terrific condition it is purchased! This is a classic car and can not wait to own one!

  • i like 944 2.5 turbo...

  • @DaKattila Great car too. Ovelrooked by many.

  • its a master piece of design

  • could u daily drive a 993

  • Right car, wrong alloys.

This car's chassis is meant for 17 inch "cup 2" alloys.

Although they don't look as good as the 18 inch "turbo look" that you have on (Porsche OEM?) they are much lighter, and give better handling and response.

Only the later Carrera S and Carrera 4S with the wider track at the back are meant for both 17 and 18 inch rims.

Get the right wheels back on!

  • @funkyspaceinvader. 18"optional on Varioram cars. Prefer the 17" s for my own.

  • Very true :) Glad we're on the same page. Sorry for my harsh words at times haha.

    You too!

Take care. Keep uploading videos of your Porsche's. They are fantastic.

  • P.S Claus I viewed the video's you uploaded in your channel.

Your 964 is immaculate! Very nice example.

  • The way I say Porsch-a and Porsch-uh sound the same. Just so that's clear. I think it's a language differentiation in regards to how we pronounce different letters.

I'm arguing against the word 'Porsh'

  • If you listen to Adrien in this clip he pronounces it Porsh.

Hence my first comment 'It's Porsch-a' or as you've written it on here 'Porsch-uh'.

I think we're on the same page.

  • Okay hold up here. Are you arguing it's Porsch-uh? Or Porsh. Because I've been under the impression this whole time that you've thought it was Porsh.

When I said Porsch-a I was sounding it out. I mean Porsch-uh. We're talking about the same name. The point you made from the German website is the point I've been making for the past 10 comments.

In the US people refer to Porsche's as Porsh's. Which is incorrect. I've been stating this entire time it's Porsch-uh or as I sounded it out Porsch-a

  • @sydneyfc :-)

I don´t believe it :-). We are on the same page, and we did not se it. Well, the internet is nice, but some times, face to face is so much better. This is a prime example :-)

    Hold it high, down under.

    Cheers...

  • Also go to :58 in that video too

  • Okay. Type Vintage Porsche Commercial into Youtube search. Then go to the 3rd video down.

And look! It's Dr Ferdinand Porsche himself speaking! Wait till 0:22? And he pronounces it the correct way. Porsch-a.

There ends the argument. Any questions?

  • Continue to ignore everything I say in my posts though! It's very amusing.

Answer me this. The Porsche family have pronounced THEIR FAMILY NAME the way I and many many others say it. What is your answer to that? Are the family wrong? How ignorant are you?

  • @sydneyfc Found on a German site:

    Porsche

What is the correct pronunciation of Porsche? While the “proper” way to pronounce some German terms in English may be debatable, this isn't one of them. Porsche is a family name, and the family members pronounce their surname PORSH-uh, not PORSH! Same for the car. You don't say NYKE for Nike, so don't be lazy and leave off the e in Porsche!

    Theres no "a" anywhere...

  • You're a fucking idiot. That is all.

View the 3 part Porsche video on my channel. The people interviewed in this video are some of the most important at Porsche. Chief designers, head marketers, racing drivers to name a few. And guess what? They ALL pronounce it as 'Porsch-a'. Imagine that?

And to reiterate. Wow you speak German. Big fucking deal. Porsche is the name of the family. It is not a common noun. It is not a regulary used word. It is the FAMILY name and that's how they pronounce it

  • @sydneyfc Well, at lest I don't have to behave and act like a child. I do this for a living, you are just nobody from down under. Any official Porsche video, in German, pronounces it the right way. No "a". My Sir name sound different in English, but thats does not make it right.

Just browse after Porsche videos in German. Oh, and try call a Porsche dealer in Germany, you will be surprised how they pronounce "Porsche".

See, I could give you an answer, without calling you what you seem to be...

  • last of the best classic 911,s .air cooled = reliability

  • I don't want this argument to ruin this wonderful video. Because it is wonderful. Let's put aside our viewpoints and enjoy the video because it really is spectacular :)

  • have a translation according to language. It's the families name. I hear Porsh said constantly here in Australia. It's incorrect. Let me guess you say the brand 'Nike' as Nike and not Nike-ee? There must some cultural confusion here because in the US the majority of people pronounce Porsche as Porsh.

  • @sydneyfc I don´t really care about cultural confusion - I care about the right way...

  • I'll say it once and I'll say it again. It's the families name. Watch the numerous number of advertisement campaigns for the 993/996/997/Boxster/Cayman. The voiceover constantly refers to the name pronouncing it with a slight 'a' at the end. Alois Ruf refers to Porsche's as Porsch-a's. The Porsche family members have referred to the model/family on several occasions as Porsch-a. You refer to how its pronounced in English and German. The fact of the matter is; it's not a common word. It doesn't

  • @sydneyfc I believe the race drivers and employees at Porsche, knows how to pronounce "Porsche". You don't - now thats a fact :-)

You don't need to tell me the story of the Porsche brand. I properly spend more time around thats cars, drivers and factory - than you could dream about.

I refer to how its pronounced in German, yes! As it should be!!

  • I almost purchased a Golf Rallye from Adrain 12 years ago, he used to sell golf's, and has a nice load of cars for sale in Cornwall (England)

  • my dad has owned both an 86' carrera 3.2 targa in red and a 92 white 964 from 92.

both cars are unbelievable to experience as is any porsche, so poised and the brakes are un-beatable, 250bhp on a 064 sounds like a normal amount but they feel like 500bhp! the 993 is a dream! and was balanced beutifully to keep the traditional porsche sound and not the kind of 'electronic' ferrari sound the 997 does.

  • it's pronounced porsh-a damnit! This guy is a Porsche dealer and he doesn't know how to pronounce the name fuck me..

  • @sydneyfc You are wrong. Its Porsche allright. Not the US way, with "A". It has never been Porsh-a´. You need to do some research into the german language!

And you need to do some more reaserch into who Adrian is :-)

  • @ClausFrederiksen911

Haha I'm not wrong. They didn't pick the Porsche name out of thin air. It's the FAMILY'S NAME. That's how its pronounced. You need to do some research into who Ferdinand Porsche is.

  • @sydneyfc Yes you are. I own two Porsches, live just north of Germany and speak the language 110%. Im a motor sports cameraman and photographer, trough 19 years. I work with Porsche people in the Porsche Rally and the Porsche support race at F1. I lost count of how many visits to the factory in Leipzig. In other words: I know how Porsche is pronounced, both in english and german :-) And there is no "a" anywhere! Its the (wrong) US way, of pronouncing it. And the germans are not happy about it.

  • good information

  • gmcjetpilot your attitude stinks. I own a 1997 Porsche 911 993 ... it's sitting in my garage right now. Am I allowed to have an opinion on it?

Guess what let's come back in 10 years from now and we can compare how much your Z350 has depreciated versus my 993. The 993 is a semi-collectors item.

Now if money was not an issue I would love to own a 911 GT3 RS. But since I am not filthy rich, I guess the 993 will have to do.

  • @swoopnhuck in 10 years from now, they reckon 50% of new car sales will be electric, or a form of hybrid.. I like Porsches and have owned 2, but I have a 370Z Nissan right now, 7 speed AT, all the modern days toys such as satnav, mp3 etc etc.. happiest I've been with a car in ages, I always got grief from other road users in my Porsches, affected me so much, couldn't live with them any more.. too much of the snob factor involved..

  • @swoopnhuck My father owned a 993 when it was still the latest 911, and when he sold it he got 120% the original price he paid! He MADE money on his Porsche when he sold it. No depreciation here! Only sad that he did sell it. Hold on to yours mate, and enjoy!

  • How can we see the full vídeo (the 30 Minute Video)

  • I love the Porsche but for half the money and way better reliability for about the same performance the Nissan Z370. The nissan will be more reliable and WAY cheaper to maintain.

  • I guess you can get a maxima instead of a 5-series too, or an altima instead of a 3-series. One nissan I wouldn'd mind having is a GT-R.

  • These cars are worth twice as much cause the have the ability to out handle ferraris! you will have so much more fun with this!

A am going to buy one of these.

I respect cars like a 370z but This is more exclusive, more fun, you have to compare these cars to ferraris instead of nissans and corvettes!

  • @AmericanCarsSuck1

How would you know, you drive a bicycle. You are 23 and never drove a Porsche much less owned one. I have owned two 911's and now a Z350. You will be lucky to get a used Hyundai kid.

"This is more exclusive, more fun, you have to compare these cars to ferraris...." You're a douche bag.

You're Canadian what do they make? Canada is barely a country, one end still worships the Queen, the other end is a bunch of French speaking eh holes. Beat it kid.

  • @AmericanCarsSuck1

"wow what a bad comment reply I am 39 by the way and i am a doctor show some respect."

Did they not teach English in medical school. LOL! Ever hear of punctuation, complete sentences? As if a Doctor writes this way. I guess with socialized medicine that is what you get, illiterate "Doctors".

"wtf, wow just wow what a bad reply."

You are 23 and a dip shit kid living with your mommy. You never owned a Porsche. Now beat it kid.

  • wow what a bad comment reply

I am 39 by the way and i am a doctor

    show some respect.

    my dad had a 993 but i have a 997 gt3

    have fun with your datsun.

  • @AmericanCarsSuck1

Liar and you changed you channel. IDIOT! Doctor... ha ha.

Yea Doctor AmericanCarsSuck1" you have the mentality of a Child and write like one. Piss off dip shit.

I'm going to contact the Canadian Medical Association and point out YOU ARE kid masquerading as a Doctor. That is illigle and I will do what ever I can to FUCK YOU DOCTOR.

  • @AmericanCarsSuck1

Nice little touch, adding hobbies, on you made up channel profile. Going from 23 year old Canadian douche bag to "doctor" (Doctor is capitalized moron) was easy eh.

Hobbies: Driving my Porsche. ha ha!

Don't give your opinion on cars you never owned and never will ass hole. F off. I sold my 993 for $45,000 and got a slightly used Z350 for $22,000, 10 yrs newer, 1/5th the miles, better econ and never needs repair. Loved the Porsche. I got tired spending money fixing it.

  • How do I get the full version of your video's?

  • I have the same question i didn't see the option on his website.

  • Good Information and Looks at a great looking car!!! Sounds awesome too!!

  • Comment removed

  • I'd still go with a 993.

  • 997 VS 993?

  • Simply the best all around car I've ever driven, I love my 993!

  • May just like to add that the designer of the 993 is english, Tony Hatter. Best version is the 993 RS, better looking then even the turbo version.

  • I have a 993 turbo and love it. You will never regret owning one.

  • If i were to ever spend $40K on a sports car, i cant think of anything else better then a 993. They have such a classic look to them that was unique to its heritage, yet alluding to the next generation to come. I dont know why they changed this car after only a few years in production

  • are they about 40k?

  • check it out at online at autotradercom. You can find some with under 50K miles for around or under $40K.

  • @mitchkramah because Ferry Porsche died and they started to do a 996 water cooled 4 valves per cylinder, and they even came out with the cayenne which is the worst thing Porsche ever done.

993 it's the last propper Porsche. Love It!!!

  • @empi80 The Cayenne is the worst thing Porsche had ever done? That was the car that saved porsche from bankruptcy!

  • I am lucky enough to have a 993 - absolutely magnificent - I'll never get rid of it..
