In my experience i've seen the tuna and yellowtail fishing off of southern california with catch rates cut at least in half if not more only in the last 8 years. And fisherman i know say that even the fishing i experienced in the early 2000's was depleted from what they knew already. So i don't have a straight forward number or answer as no one does.

I think it is wrong since Japan manages the total amount of imported tuna very strictly. And Japan has "black list", which is a list of pirates.

Japan relies on international waters almost exclusively, with minimal farming, and fish from their waters. Where as US, Canada, and European powers rely on waters off of their coast and farming for at least half of the catch, with the international waters filling in the gap. Being a person that knows of what is happening and one that loves the ocean and tuna most of all is very hard right now, i want to cry for them. In my experience i've seen the tuna and yellowtail fishing off of southern california with catch rates cut at least in half if not more only in the last 8 years. And fisherman i know say that even the fishing i experienced in the early 2000's was depleted from what they knew already. So i don't have a straight forward number or answer as no one does.
