I've heard people complain about the power/sleep button being on the bottom of the device. But, if you can view movies, books, browse the web, etc... At 360 degrees, it should really matter because, can't you simply rotate the device so that the power/sleep buttons are on the top and the speakers are on the bottom???

Yes there is an email app, also, the kindle, in my opinion, is much like the iPad. Although it's smaller than the iPad we have all come to know and love very, very dearly, it does all the same things the iPad does. It is also a lot more easy to use than an iPad, and you have a lot more time to use it, because it has a larger battery life. My favorite part, a lot of the games for the kindle that are free have most of the full game. Even better, the kindle is cheaper and easier to but and read on.

@bush21rox There is no wi-go connection needed for books, unless you are reading them from the Cloud. If the books are downloaded on to he device, you don't need wi-do. Same with movies.

Since it is wi-fi only can you still read your books without a connection? Sorry, I'm tech-challenged. I just want to be able to read my books while in a car, airplane, dr. office, or whenever and I wont always have a connection. Is the one with 3G capability a better option?

Not being able to remove content from the carousel is a problem. The Amazon Appstore has been dealing with something similar on smartphones, in that once you have purchased an app (even free ones), you can never remove that app from your list of "My Apps." My Fire arrives via UPS this afternoon....I envision a carousel loaded with 100 ghosts of apps past.

@yoyodyne33 - I have recently purchused a Kindle Fire and you can delete apps you have gotten i found. But not the little web page things. To delete certain apps from your carousal you can hold down and it comes up darker with 2 options 1. Add to Favorites 2. Remove from Device. And i found that it did actually remove my app.

It looks a little slow to respond to orientation changes (at least compared to iPad standards), opening apps (when you launched the dictionary), and even flipping pages. Have you noticed this to be an annoyance after continued use?

@hillsman7 The cloud device makes the books have to load when you are going to read them and then put them on the Kindle. The kindle has limited storage so they allow unlimited storage on their cloud storage.

@90JFB the front-facing cam does auto-focus without having to "tap" to focus. The back camera is harder to maintain a clear, focused shot.
