  • True,the UK did have an imperialist umbrella,but then so did the Japanese,who had ruthlessly conquered practically all of South East Asia.

  • It's a IJN sub. I *think* it's a Type KD7 KD6 or C3. It could also be none of those but 10 type KD7 were built & not all accounted for I think. If it's a C3 then it might be the I-55 because it's fate is in dispute though claimed as sunk by USS Miller & Gilmer.

    The official records may very well list this scuttling/sinking as a British Royal Navy action since the IRN was at that time under their imperialist umbrella of UK.

    Not alot of info on IJN subs. Will try to solve when I get more time.

  • German Submarines of that time had open conning towers.

    This "Pilot house"-style looks more like it could be a Japanese boat.
