  • I'd laugh if the magnet flew off the drill and punched a hole in that nice flat screen :-)

    No I wouldn't....!!!

  • Wow I just turned off my tv and it worked fine again

  • Idiot. Don't put magnets near a TV then.

  • a have a solution but another one

  • Funny - I was watching this video while eating subway ;D

  • I fixed an uneven PC monitor with a magnet pen. Not too hard to do.

  • drill it if you have any balls

  • it actually demagnetises itself after a few hours anyway. the drill works because it creates an alternating magnetic field since poles turn rapidly therefore making the magnetism in the screen revert back to normal.

  • Lot a noise, must be hell there.

  • or you can just go to the menu and select "degauss"

  • @999equalizer too bad not all TV's have that.

  • @tommyballe Yeah your right buddy, my old Sanyo doesn't have it but in a couple years CRTs will be obsolete anyway.

  • @999equalizer CRT's are already obsolete XD

  • @ERTLPFM

isit?, when gaming CRT's kicks the shit out of LCD and plasmas any day, i've only seen maybe 10 TV's out of 10,000 that dont have any lag.

If you disagree you more then likly dont play any games where 1 or 2 frames of lag mean anything, you're a layman so it's understandable.

  • Still using Cathode Ray Tubes?

  • @thefootpad

for most games yeah but i recently found an amazing 22inch LCD that has 0 lag with a PS3 so i'm using that now, but for pretty much every other console i use a CRT.

it's called iiyama prolite e2210 hds which is the 22inch version, dont buy the 24inch one as thats been found to have a tiny bit of lag on it.

  • @thefootpad Well, the vid was posted 2007. Though I also think a number of people don't bother upgrading unless it's necessary. Bit of a waste of money to constantly chase trends the split second they start, especially when items usually drop in price several years later.

  • @ERTLPFM No, they aren't. CRTs are the best for what they do.

    LCDs are though.

  • @Jake199415 he's just trying to fix his tv...

  • how i fixed it is i took the mains plug out for a bit then put it back in :P

  • T.V Polish....

  • Oh bloody british...

  • @mazic12345 Had a friend who did that a few years ago. he just left the tv off for a few days and it was all ok.

  • oh my fuck that is awsome i just fucked up my tv the other day i had a blonde moment and sat my 12'' subwoofer on top of it while i tied my shoes i look up and the tv was royaly screwed

  • OMG you guys are soooo funny! Who's the winging one in the background though? Her voice is soooooo anoying.....

  • fix the telee...woop!!! i love your accents...

  • ...or you could get a degaussing coil.

  • soak tv in bathtub overnight! but first un plug it!

  • XD 0:09 JAREDS BOOB!

  • Mike Tyson used to throw out a phone and buy a new one when it ran out of minutes cause he thought it was broken. hahaha.

  • Great we all need to know this because we all mess with magnets on our televisions these days. :O

  • Yeah, I hate when my brother does this D:

  • @confusion180 Well you might not do it yourself but if you've got friends who are irresponsible parents and they let their kid run around and he grabs a magnet and starts waving it around on a tv screen cause he thinks its neat its good to know that theses things can be fixed. In my case I know my friends not about to fork over the $ 1,500 to replace the tv or anything else he lets his kid destroy

  • i had to magnets and i put them both up to the tv the whole screen was green then i put the magnets to the tv again and went all the way into the left bottoom cornor it pulled al the green into that area making the screen better then before it was only in the corner now so i turned it off for about 20 minutes and it was gone TRY IT IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • spinning magnet or degaussing coil. same difference, both fix green spots

  • doing a barrel roll often fixes it :D

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • soldering gun works well.

  • this is the best way to fix a tv thats ruined by magnets it can b pretty costly but no more than ur tv was worth at the time u bought it. u write down the model number for the t.v., throw the tv in the fuckin garbage and go on ebay and type in the model number and buy it.

  • simple damage can be undone by unplugging the TV for a while. it worked for me

  • The REAL imbeciles here are those who screwed the tv in the first place!

  • what he's doing actually works if you have the right shape of magnet, the right speed of drill, and stop immediately after the symptom is gone, but nine times out of ten all i do is throw the tv out of my apartment window onto the street, the worthless piece of junk!

  • God, what a wastefull world we live in, these problems are easy to fix, and you don't need to throw the TV set out, don't you know what conservation is?

  • conservation? is that throwing shit out?

  • go back to harry potter

  • BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK, this is the second time my Trinitron 34" Sony is giving me the same green/pink spot on the right side,

this time I just took the plug out for a couple of hours, and when plugged back, the TV was looking fine again.

Try it before starting with magnet tricks ;)

  • Best you could do with a TV set. Its only a propaganda machine for the industry. Purge it.

  • It's called degaussing, most crt's have a large electromagnet wound around the cathode and when you turn the tv on for the first time the EM turn on effectively degaussing the monitor.

  • Use a Weller Soldering gun. Point the BACK end towards the center of the screen. Go to one corner, return to center, then next corner. Continue until TV screen back to normal. It worked for me :))

  • @ClubCrew Do you need a magnet at the end or just a soldiering gun?

  • @Angel0fDarkness78 Just a soldering gun worked for me.

  • HOW THE FUCK AM I GOING TO FIX MY TVS

MY HOUSE GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING FIND A MAGNET STRONGER THAN THAT someone plz help me it messed up 5 tvs

  • Really? That sucks big time...

  • Not anymore they all got fixed except mine :D

  • That's good :D

  • buy a new tv

  • something called INSURANCE!

  • they said its not covered

  • ouchhh rofl

  • if you put a small magnet(perferably one of the poles of the magnet)near your face,in between your eyes, you feel a weird

    fuzzy sensation.

    Try it!

  • I did a magnet once on the Tv, the whole screen was purple. A day later it was back to normal.

  • that's because they contain deguassing coils, they deguass when you turn em on and off

  • Ah, ok, that shall be it.

  • lucky you, I acsedently did that when I droped a magnet and it bounsed at the tv, but about 6 months later, today, theres still green at the bottom corner, lol

  • i fixed my maganetised tv by moving the maganet around and i fixed it

  • Decent old CRT screens like my old Sony Vega would deguass on power up with an impressive kinda 'thump..hum' sound for a moment dumping AC into the field coils

  • B&D rotary degausser... nice one :-)

  • it does work. i think it prob depends on the size and depth of the colour. Mine wasn't a huge green mark,& it took me roughly 10-15mins. GOOD LUCK 2 all who try it.

  • Fun fact: tvs are made to resist common strength magnets partly which makes them easy to fix and some newer tv also have a special function built in to fix these kinds of problems

  • my tv had a green spot in the corner cuz my stereo speaker was too close to it, all i did was wave a fridge magnet at it and it was fixed

  • Thats basically a degausser. A hard drive degausser works the same way by introducing altranating magnetic field lines in the material to elminate residual magnetic fields.

  • wat if that guy tripped forward?

  • if he tripped forward, it would be time to buy a new t.v

  • if he tripped i doubt his magnet drill would be able to fix the giant hole in the screen.

but hey no more funny colors =D

  • it really works i just did it and it works i took a pretty weak magnet and just waved back to forth or left to right and then i turned off my tv and waited about 10 seconds turned it back on and it worked!

  • i cant see any diference before/after

  • to fix a TV thats been messed up by magnets all you need to do (if it hasn't a degauss function) is:

    1 unplug the Tv

2 make a cofee or tee

3 drin the coffe or tee

    4 plug in the TV

5 be happy because it is fixed

  • Or simply restarts it, works with a computer monitor as well.

Other than that, it's a nice way to fix it but cheaper and easier to just turn it off. And yes, I have tried it.

  • Do not drill the screen!

  • No, drill the screen, I need a laugh!

  • yup it work : )

  • Sorry, but for anyone who thinks it doesn't work, it does. I took 2 of those "rattlesnake egg" magnets, and ruined my TV with them. Then I spent a couple of hours waving them infront of the screen, and fixed it.

  • yeah, all of this stuff will work by undoing what was originally done, the drill works because it creates a magnetic field around it when it runs because of all the electricity, also making it function like a tape-eraser

  • My kids put a magnet to the TV. To fix mine I just took a magnet and waved it back and forth over the 'bad' part, adjusting the distance between the glass and the magnet depending on the spot or intensity that was produced and I just kind of 'blended' it out. It worked for me.

  • i had a tiny magnet mark in the bottem left off my screen, i took a weak magnet and put it across the part that had a magnet mark and went back and forth bout 5 times turned the tv off and back on and its now perfect. see if that helps if you have a tiny mark.

  • i fixed my tv earlier by just using a drill , u dont need magnets on the end just put the drill with its side about 2 inches from the screen and turn it on, it also will work with electric fan and other things with a motor

  • Maaaan...My whole tv screen is blue wtf . How do I fix that shit!!!!REPLY

  • my comp was fucked by magnets and i turned off and on about 50 times and it fixed idk y but i worked!!!!

  • Yep, there is a magnetic coil surrounding the tube, which turns on for a split second when you turn on the set.

If you do it enough times, it can fix the screen.

  • it does NOT work!

  • Tard way of doing it. Make a coil with an extension cord, do a few loops around the front of the screen, voila!

  • do you need something drawing on the cord?

my computer monitor is fucked up from magnets and the demagnetize function isn't fixing it.

  • o sorry I fort this was how to fix a tv after its been messed up by magners

    can any1 help?

  • my computer has a degausing coil in it , lol

  • Nyoooooo! Stop et! It's getteng weorse!

  • Ughh there british accents are so stupid. There like the most annoying voices in the world. Except for some people

  • good technique, bad camera skills haa

  • My TV had that degaussing thing, but there was a little green spot that never left..

One day, my friend was using an electric sharpner, when he got it close, the green spot COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED. when I put it away, the green spot went back, then I just put it on-off-on-off and it worked,

  • If your tv gets messed up by a magnet then pick up your monitor and hold it up close by your tv and degauss your monitor. It will degauss your tv as well. Thats how i fixed my tv

  • also I might add, dont touch the screen with the drill, as this can cause irreversible damage to the glass

  • was that sarcastic?

  • 50/50, I mean its not rly sarcasm, seeing as you'd actually Fk up ur screen. but then again it should be pretty obvious

  • put a magnet close to the computer screen then press the degauss button, then remove the magnet! this will really fuck up the screen! after a couple of degaussing it will be fixed.

i wonder if the spinning magnet technique works thou.

  • IThis Works! Iv fixed TV's with a rubberband and a magnet the idea is to get it spinning really fast exposing it to both poles which seem to erase the damage it does work!

  • This is strange. I had a large pink stain on the right. Then tried to fix it by moving a magnet in front of the screen (don't try it as it can make things worse). Moving it again and again made the huge stain vanish but left a small green mark at the bottom. Powering off and on didn't fix it, but surprisingly after taking the cable out and relocating the TV, connecting and powering on, no stains at all ! This is a Sony Trinitron 34".

  • Two comment -

    1. Moving the TV far from my stereo loudspeakers didn't solve the problem, but probably the movement itself.

    2. Again, take in account that using a magnet in front of the screen actually CRATES stains, but they change as you move the magnet, so basically you try to move the stains with the magnet till the stains become minimal.

  • If the TV makes a big "zapping" sound whenever you turn it on, that's an automatic degaussing circuit and you don't need to use magnets.

  • Interesting. I'll have to keep this in mind if such a thing is required of me...

    Thanks.

  • hei man, I messed up my TV, I was playing eith a magnet ing my bedrooms wall... and I forgot that my TV was behind the wall..

i completly ucked up all color...

I must fix this before my father sees it...

are you relly sure that this will help ?

attaching a magnet to a drll, and do that ?

ohh, I fucked the all thing---

  • actually, turning the tv off, and on again will fix it...

  • Only if the TV has a degaussing coil that activates every time you turn it on, which is very few.

  • Which is very often, if you haven't got an ancient tube from the late 90s. All modern crt do have a built-in degauss-coil.

Thank god, tft or plasma is unaffected by magnets :)

  • Who buys a CRT in the last 8 years?

Most TVs should last long enough I figure, until you get an HD one. I guess I skipped the degaussing coil era.

  • my tv has a degaussing coil that activates all the time so im lucky

  • didnt now u cud reverse it with anuther mag nice one will defo try that just got a tv with a slight mag effect ...yay it works thanx

  • To demagnetise something normally, one uses a degaussing coil - a wire through which AC current is fed. The changing polarity of the current means the magnetic field keeps changing..

Wrapping an extension cord around something = AC current coil..

Magnets on drill = physical reorientation of magnet = alternating magnetic field..

Guess how power stations generate AC current :)

This is actually fairly clever trick in a pinch as shown.. but ultimately a proper degaussing wand will work best.

  • AMFG! BrightWhite Emulsion with 20% off!!!!!

  • theres a vtech phone in the room...

  • yes, thanks for you're shitty imput. but as you can see, his method takes seconds... you're method takes half an hour. so please, shut the fuck up. and retair from the internet.

  • The easiest solution is...leave your tv for 2-3 hours, it really works

  • guys guys relax, cant u see that the poor man is retarded?

  • I thought he was going to just drill into the tv for a moment lol

  • Easier way - turn it off by the mains and unplug it, with now power going through the electromagnetic pull doesnt function.

  • lol wow it work i just tried it with my monitor thx for the tip :P

  • i luv u

thats all i have 2 say

    thx ALOT

  • really powerful magnets WILL leave some color, I did this years ago with a set...

  • its a setting that you go to the menu for.

  • omg its gone!!!

  • hey that happend to me ...i brought a 15" subwoofer to my room and it messed it up!.... How can i fix it?

  • Just take out the main plug and wait like 30min.. Then plug in again and your regular tv will degauss.

  • I once had a magnet near my tv for like 2 seconds and it has this pink thing, or had it for about 2 months, even if we turned it off at night time for 12 hours or whatever, it seems to be gone now

  • yea.. U have to remove the plug from the wall socket

  • oh, duh.. sorry, rofl! dumb dumb

  • bune şaçma bir video

  • help me!! my tv has gone all funny colours for some reason??what i do

  • buy a new T.V.

  • fucking retard. youre probably one of those filthy rich people that get something new when something old looks bad.

  • without considering the fact that most rich ppl live off of somebodies back and rip off money in any way they can, they are irresponsible, their mentality is twisted the're spoild they're sh*theaded and follow primitive impulses. irresponsibility leads to carelessness twords their surroundings which leads to negative results and might impact surrounding ppl, you wanted to go fast and blew your engine, get a flag and stand inline with the rest impulses driven rich dumbasses.

  • lmfao

  • i second that "lmfao"

  • third :D

  • 4ourth :D

  • 4th ;D

  • 5th! =D

  • or you could have hit the degauz button

  • what is a degauz button my tv doesn't have 1?

  • there for computer moniters

  • lmao

  • Mmm, Hmm

  • Stuck some magnets to the end of a drill and waved it in front of the screen

  • ???? what did U do????
