I like how you had to say , "When we make a 'lawful' traffic stop". How come so many officers illegally pull teenagers over for false reasons, just to ask if they can search their car for drugs and bring drug dogs to the scene, as well as up to 5 police cars, and potentially ruin a teen's life for marijuana? The corruption in the police force is actually preposterous, I'm glad there's still a few officers who like to PROTECT and serve the people instead of trying to get on COPS.
@K1LL4Hg33 No that doesn't happen what so ever.... ever! I think you just might be misconstruing what you see on T.V. or possibly what your friends might tell you through a biased opinion. Take a Criminal Justice course at your local community college and you will get a more unbiased opinion on what police legally can do.
@BTRFitness you have no case here. this does happen, and it happens way more often than you would believe. I am not misconstruing any facts, this has happened to me in real life. has your friend ever been choke slammed right next to you just for saying "fuck no" to a cop? didn't think so. I dont need to take a crim justice course, that would be fucking useless. It is clearly evident in society that police overstep their power constantly.
@K1LL4Hg33 I am majoring in Criminal Justice right now in college. If an officer does this it can result in the officer getting fired. It's a matter of reporting them quickly to the department. And as for ruining a teenager's life for getting caught with marijuana, it is a crime and it needs to dealt with. The officer isn't responsible for the decisions of anybody makes.
@gtm3cap congratulations you're majoring in criminal justice, you must automatically know everything about the justice system. an officer can do this and get away with it every single fucking day. No matter how honest of a person you are, a judge or internal review board will always listen to the cops story over yours. And as for ruining people's lives, it is a misdemeanor crime at best, and you're right, its his job to take people to jail for it. I'm merely using this an example.
@K1LL4Hg33 the reason your friend got "choked slammed" was because he was being disrespectful he needed his ass whooped and no one can take your opinion on the subject seriously cause one look what kind of friends you hang out with and two you sound like the typical snot nosed teenager who has a chip on his shoulder for law enforcement cause you cant seem to stop making bad choices in life so you automaticly blame the police
@TheAngelofvengance No, the reason my friend got CHOKE SLAMMED was because the cop thought he could get away with it, but we had neighbors running video and the cop got called into internal affairs and my friend was awarded ten thousand dollars. And yes, we were acting like douche bags, but guess what? Its not the cops job to choke slam people because hes butthurt. That's why to HELP my community I'm becoming a firefighter, to ACTUALLY help people and not be a fucking douche police officer.
@hermeschbird whether he was well dressed or dressed like shit I think people just didn't want to be bothered by a door to door solicitor. Especially the inner city "black" dude that is now reformed who wants to sell you a magazine. It's r really common sales pitch and when people tell them they are not interested, these guys get rude and aggressive.
Just wanted to say thanks for the videos , I'm currently in college and am wanting to become a Police Officer. Just wanted to say thanks for the videos and the information they contain. =]
@savakz Community Service Officers are usually individuals who are going to school for law enforcement or they are people who want to help out the community but not be a fully licensed police officer. A CSO is a non-sworn officer for the department. They have no powers of arrest and do not carry guns... they do however usually carry everything else (taser, baton, mace, cuffs)... They take non emergency type, perform prisoner transports, and assist officers as needed.
Our Sheriff's Office has 12 hour shifts dayshift is from 6 am to 6pm and night shift is 6pm to 6 am but our PD shifts are weird they work from 6 am to 12 am they rotate ALOT
hello im thinking of joing a police department but first i wanna do 4 years in the military because i have a misdeamenor on my record and not to good of a job history do you think this will help me get hired?
Military is not a must. Most Police Departments now are looking for individuals that have degrees instead of military experience, but its a plus to have either or and even both. As far as your misdemeanor goes, it depends on what type it is. During your hiring process it will obviously come up and all you need to do is be completely honest about it. That demonstrates your integrity which is very important. Some departments even hire you if you have a felony, again depending on what it is.
@LakevillePD Wow, your officers seem like really nice, kind and understanding people. Looks like a beautiful community to. It's nice to see law enforcement at it's best.
@LakevillePD where im from, we have a little over 35,000 population, but have 85 sworn officers. lol. really tells the difference between the north and south
Does Lakeville PD have take home cars?

I noticed in a lot of these Lakeville PD videos that many of these officers came from being a community service officer.
What exactly is the difference between these two?

because when he first started out as a cop, 15 years ago, they didn't have gps like they do today.

How many officers would a town of 50000 have in it? In the UK we would usually have about 10!
Azathespaz6666 2 years ago 4
We have about 48 officers. We try to have 1 officer per 1000 population. Thank you.
LakevillePD 2 years ago 12
@LakevillePD Thats quite a lot. We would be lucky in our county of 120000 to have 15.
