Actually, if you recall, David Pajo was bumped from bass to backing guitar when Paz was brought in, replacing Pajo as the bassist. I do agree that they sounded great as a 4 piece, but I also disagree, the 5th guitar sound just made it all the better!! Zwan reunion anyone? :) Would be nice....
It'll never happen. Too much bad blood between Billy/Jimmy and the rest of the band. A shame really, Zwan showed so much promise in the 2/3 years they were together.
Still at least there's the album and a ton of bootlegs...
I loved Zwan, it was such a positive album, and one of the firsts I could listen to all the way through. I listened to it during hard times in 05. When I was just 15...Going through a bunch of shit those days. Glad this was posted.
PS. I'll never understand why pumpkin fans don't like them. When I myself have been one for many, many years.
you, my friend have a very strange taste in music. Lame guitar riffs, boring drums, and bass that does not even compare to any smashing pumpkins album.
I know of plenty of Pumpkins fans who like Zwan. Like a lot of things Billy has done, it takes time for people to catch up and appreciate it. By which time Billy's moved on yet again to something else. I've always admired Billy for not repeating himself artistically, even in reforming the Pumpkins, it was with he intent to make NEW music, not just for a world tour playing the old hits and getting a huge paycheck for it.
I bought Zwan's album a day after a friend of mine died and this was the 1st song I listened to. What a powerful song, this and lyric are my favs from that album. They always take me back to that time in my life
This guy has to be one of the top 5 rock drummers of all time... goddamn he is not only flashy, but tight, and restrained and sensitive to not overpower the songs.
i dont think he dislikes zwan, its more that he felt that he belonged to smasnhing pumpkins, or i should say that style of music and writing. He enjoyed zwan while it lasted but im sure feels more at home where he is now
Nah, he really does hate them. Not Jimmy obviously, but everyone else, yes. He's stated he never listens to the album, it sickens him, and he won't ever talk to any of the band members ever again.
Does anyone know what drum kit Jimmy is using?

what a beautiful punching song this is, sounds just as great live
too bad this went to a dead end
the band was a great unit, as a fourtet. Ijust never understood wtf Billy needed to add other gtr with lame and suffisant David Pajo!
so sad it broke the harmony, there was talent, beauty and magic in this band too...

I totally like Zwan. I wish Billy and Jimmy came back as Zwan instead of SP. Not to say that I don't like SP. I do! But it's just not the same.

He messed up a lot in this performance, Billy Corgan is probably my biggest role model, and I would do a lot to meet him and talk to him.
I've seen him forget a lot of lyrics =P
