  • bobby budnick from salute your shorts.....nice

  • anyone who covers Thin Lizzy (or in this case, Phil Lynott solo) is kick ass \,,/

  • What is Danny doing these days?

  • Voice acting. Look at the top comments, you'll see who he's given his voice to. Also, he's provided Dave the Barbarian with a voice.

  • honestly miss ths band :( they had the potential 2 go FAR

  • The singer played an orphan on the Dukes of Hazzard.

  • The guitarist was 12 years old and was better than most.

  • YEAH HE was Sam ( diff'rent strokes) , he was bobby budnick ( salute your shorts) and the kid from terminator 2 actor and musician, it is Danny Cooksey the singer this dude is crazy man i like it i can't sing this song like him , i'll lose my voice nobody can , that's awesome he's on twitter

  • Jack Spicer! :D

  • these kids make many a musician look bad real bad NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUNG PEOPLE

  • @michijp711 This song originally by Phil Lynott

  • I listened to this cd repeatedly when I was in high school. Oh...memories!

  • omg i forgot about these guys haha Go Danny lol isnt the guitarist the one from steve vais the audience is listening video??

  • omg i forgot about these guys haha Go Danny lol

  • Cool cover!

  • Fuck man. Jack Spicer in a metal band. MIND BLOWN.

  • @Aluvex yesh!thats wut i sayed!lol,jayson marsden (chase young)was singing i love you babeXDjack winsXP

  • @Aluvex he was also in Quake 4

  • @Aluvex IKR!!!!!!!

  • @Aluvex aahhahahaha

  • i saw a music video from this band a long time ago. I'm not sure if this was it.

  • Great band - wrong place, wrong time. If they came out today they would be HUGE. Back then their youth counted against them - today you are either young or nothing.

  • These guy's were way overlooked

  • Gingers don't have souls.

  • I wonder if this got Dina, Telli, or ZeZe's cooters wet or not!

  • He's a Ginger Kid. They have no souls.

  • Oh god lol think im falling for tht red head kid <3 Danny Cooksey :D

  • Danny Cooksey also did the voice for Montana Max.

  • I love Danny cooksey. I wish they could have a reunion tour.

  • BAHAHAHA I remember this band!! They only made this ONE album though. I wonder where they all are today!?

I think it was hard for teen back then to take a bunch of kids their age seriously as role model rock stars. Today it seems to be easier.

  • Headbanger142, i second that

  • Danny's voice is good.

Wish I could have seen this band live. They're really cool and talented. Hard to believe they were so young :)

  • He was 19 years old when he recorded that album ("Refugee").

  • Goddamn it, why couldn't there be kids bands like this today? Fuck Jonas Bros, fuck Naked Brothers Band and fuck any other emo and/or Disney owned band out there today!

  • So true. This rocks

  • 10000% agree

  • You do realize that these guys were kids when they did this?

  • Danny Cooksey did the voice for milo on pepper ann. hes a good singer and the girl who did the voice of pepper ann sings aswell. just found that out.

  • Whoa It's A Little Dave Mustaine Lol!

  • MONTANA MAX ROCKS OUT

  • I loved this it was out when I was turning nineteen even though he was sam on different strokes

  • its really odd....when I was 19 I thought this album sucked SO BADLY (might've been because I was bitter about sex and religion...YUK!) and then 20 years later....SOMEHOW this sounds decent to me....guess my taste is deminished in old age>?

  • BUDNICK TAKES HIS ANGER OUT!

  • This track is written by Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott. It was originally recorded in 1984 by his last band Grand Slam. Great track.

  • I DID NOT KNOW THAT! huh.

  • YOU'RE KIDDING! Danny Cooksey's voice is amazing! Heavy metal to Jack Spicer? AWESOME!!

  • The Guy Who Is Montana Max!!!

  • Comment removed

  • This is a Phil Lynott song. He wrote and performed this with his last band Grand Slam then recorded it solo. The kid s here do a pretty good job!

  • Montana Max goes metal!

  • YEAH BUDNICK!!!

  • their manager was Ugg!

  • Danny Cooksey sings very well. He doesn't just do heavy metal but he can sing slow ballads as well. Check out his new band, Arbuckle. He should be more famous.

  • Where's Donkey Lips?!

  • Shame I didn't know about this band until just now :(

  • This could have been an amazing band if they coulda kept going..

  • First Time I heard this MY MIND WAS BLOWN!

I thought these Kids would RULE THE ROCK WORLD,SADLY never heard anything else from them.Produced by Randy Van ? Rocker Dude.

If anyone knows what happend to the all of them or the Guitar Player pleas pass it on..

  • Danny Cooksey (singer) does voice work for cartoon and stuff. Thyere's an amateur website his people maintain for him if you search his name. The drummer is in Suicidal Tendancies. I think Thomas (guitar) works in a record store in Cali, and Zac (bass) is in some other bad. That's last I knew, anyway. They were signed as a throwaway band for girls' dollars, ten they made the mistake of making their album cover for this with all of them nude as juvies. No one likes child porn.

  • oh y gosh i still ccan't believe this is the same guy who voices jack spicer form xiaolin showdown XD

i love it he dose so much stough

  • Yeah that was a bad decision, I liked the music and Vai produced them so how could it go so wrong?

  • I also remember there was trouble in the band because Thomas was British and the others were American. I read that his father told him that he was too good for his bandmates. FYI, I looked him up; he lives in Newcastle, England. He's married and doing production(?) work. He was on myspace.

  • I have the cd, this is badass! I wish these blokes would've made it big....

  • B4G got ripped off by the industry by the time they came along. I wonder if they'd do it again if they knew they would make it the second time? Danny's website looks like he's busy and happy now without B4G. Dunno...

  • He's very underrated in my opinion he would of been a better actor then dicaprio

  • fuckin budnick

  • These guys kick the shit out of Black Tide..

no offense to them, but these guys to me just seem more legit and rock harder.

  • Damn straight.

I'm not so keen on Black Tide.

  • haha same man!

  • Definitely like this sound better than Black Tide, but you gotta give credit to Black Tide, they do write their own music. These guys didn't write much, if anything on the 'Refugee' album.

  • Wow!! hey people u wanna see a band that's doing this now in the days!! check out Black tide!!!

  • What's the point of being a 10 year old rock star? You can't bang anyone, and rock groupies aren't going for a 10 year old.

  • so what, by the time ur able, there migh be a million waiting in line

  • + the money and fame build up by that time..ud be crazy rich and be known aroudn the world at like 20

  • fuk yeah, prolly they finishing the queue right now. lol and will jam again in like 3 months

  • Sex isn't the be all end all you idiot.

  • hes a prime example of someone who is a has been

  • He was also in terminator 2 as well as the nickleloadian show salute your shorts and he's now a voice actor

  • Also Danny had voiced Montana Max on Tiny Toon Adventures

  • And that horrible Jack Splicer from Xiolin showdown. JACK SPLICER!

  • CHECK OUT BLACK TIDE SHOCKWAVE BADASS another young metalband but they are new...

  • i love that band

  • The lead singer is Danny Cooksey - You know, the annoying red haired kid from Diff'rent Strokes - He played SAM - Wow, he can ROCK!!~

  • This is a nice version of Phil Lynnott's "nineteen". Actually, this version is way better than Lynott's.

  • anyone know where i can download this song for free?

i cant find it anywhere on limewire...

  • One of the best bands of the early 1990s. It's sad they didn't last a bit longer but, since I got "Refugee" on tape back in 1992 from my mom, I've been still listening to that album mostly everyday since I got it at the mall. For a band with teenage musicians, they sure have Attitude compared to bands nowadays.

  • dude the lead singer is my cousin because his mom is my aunt or something like that

  • The rockiness young band ever.

  • just shows you what a being in a band can do cuz these kids were getting 20 yr old chicks!! and what happen to the guitarist? He was steve vai in a 12 yr. old body!

  • budnick doesnt have a bad voice...he reminds me of layne staley on the old aic demo recordings(like the suffragete city cover, or social parasite).

  • Hanson with attitude

  • Damn, I haven't heard this song in years, and it still kicks ass. I love how much fun the drummer looks like he's having. Remember the days when music was actually fun and not all angsty? God, I'm old. XD

  • LOL!

  • Bobby Budnik really could rock

  • Thomas McRocklin is still doing fucl all with that tallent

  • whoa i still cant believe thats little sam wow his voice has sure matured..

  • Ya know,I had this band on cassette back in '93 or '94(I forget),then years later found it at a pawn shop on cd,somewhere down the line I lost that cd.These kids really could play, afterall, isn't Thomas the son of the jazz/fusion great John Mclaughlin??

  • Great Song!!! I still can believe the singer was Sam on Diff'rent Strokes though!

  • LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! i 1st saw bad4good on MTV`s headbangers ball way back in the 90`s.i agree, too bad that this band didn`t make a go of it.still rocks hard to this day.

  • Who ever thought that Danny Cooksey would go from playing "Sam" (Arnold's new step brother) in "Different Strokes" to playing "Robert Budnick" in "Salute Your Shorts" to being the lead singer of a rock n roll band. If anyone isn't aware, the lead guitar player is the same kid in Steve Vai's video, "The Audience Is Listening." He's one good guitar player! The scary thing is that he was only 12 when he played with Bad 4 Good.

  • one of the best ever too bad they didnt make a go of it. loved the disc oh the highschool memories this brings back. if anyone thinks this is lame they are totally wrong cuz look how young these kids were when they made this.

  • You're a fucking idiot denveraic. Killer guitar, amazing vocals and a bad ass drummer. Everything you need to make a good "Rock & Roll" Band... This band had more talent at a younger age than most bands that had been around longer. I hate idiots who constantly put down the Hair Band/Hard Rock bands of the late 80's & 90's. These bands had more musical talent than most of the more serious bands at the time and we're alot more fun to listen to than that damn depressing grunge area that followed.

  • This is totally bad ass.

  • Like someone said "Bad Timing" for a group of this talent to come out. At the same time Grunge was taking over the music world. I Loved this CD. Slow & Beautiful and Nothin' Great about a Heartache. Very Awsome songs. But Terminate is atill Great because Danny was in Terminator 2 as John Conners Friend.

  • Great song!!!

  • wow

  • dude i've looked for thomas on myspace and hes not on there and u cant find him anywere its like he fell off te face of the earth!

  • yeah he is. tom mcrocklin. not much on his page though.

  • really thanx

  • Bobby Budnick of Salute Your Shorts as the singer... so awesome.

  • Danny Cooksey, FTW! XDDD

  • I was so impressed when I saw the video ( I was in my 20's). I was playing bass in a band also and wished I had started that young...The album STILL kicks butt to me!!!

    YA MAKIN' ME NERVOUS!!!!

  • I think they should reunite. The music may have been written by Guitar God Steve Vai, but they performed with style and energy that is missing in many of todays music acts world wide. I salute the band

  • This song was written by P.Lynott

  • sorry i was misinformed. that you for correcting me Acekicken

  • it's all good,Steve wrote a good chunk of the CD But did not play on it....

  • this disc majorly kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!

  • Danny Cooksey = hottest ginger of all time.

  • I'd love to meet all these guys someday, although I don't know what good it would do. Probably won't ever have the chance anyway. Its too bad though, especially since I've had a crush on Danny for 12 out of 16 years of my life. How terrible is that? I'm half his age.. and hes married with a kid! XD

  • This was originally a Thin Lizzy song.....yeah, for a bunch of teenagers they kicked some ass!!!! Just bad timing!!!

  • LMFAO the dude from Salute your Shorts!!!

  • They didn't write any songs and they were under the wing of Steve Vai.

  • Awesome!!!!!!!

  • This came out during the height of grunge and was crushed by tons of depressing, no talent, flannel wearing wannabees.. They should have been bigger, but that's the industry for you.

  • Couldn't have said it better my friend.

  • Reminds me of what Ratt went through. Their Detonator album was great but pop metal was becoming less popular by the time it was '90.

  • I totally agree as well.

  • Woooo man Danny is HOT! *melts*

  • The singer used be be on different strokes towards the end of the series, he was the "new" little red head brother. U can find him in IMDB aslo

  • he was also on salute your shorts.

  • this is he singing!! the kids made their own music

  • Haha! Hard to believe the lead singer does the voice of Jack Spicer (from Xiaolin Showdown) and Dave the Barbarian. I have this CD. It kicks butt!

  • You're Serious about the voice acting stuff? Where'd you find it out?

  • On wikipedia, where else? He also does the voice of Milo from "Pepper Ann" and the voice of Montana Max on "Tiny Tunes".

  • from bein the little kid on diff'rent strokes, to bein bad ass on salute your shorts, then bein in a kick ass band. haha (he was also in 2 other bands, one called lucys' milk and the other im not sure of)

  • I'm pretty sure they're called Road Kill. Can't be certain though...

  • Is that the "Salute Your Shorts Kid"? Totally Headbanging!

  • played this on the radio back in my DeeJay days... brings back good memories and still KICKS ASS!

  • The average age of the bandmembers at the time of this song was around 16. The little Drummond kid can sing like a mofo!

  • Mcrocklin was only 12 when this came out!! I would kill to be able to play like that and I'm 34!

  • Wow, obviously these are the guys some fucked up German producers ripped the band "Tokio Hotel" off!

I wonder how much of the songwriting they did on their own. Anyway, quite cool for their age. Brooks already plays as good as some drummers never get in their whole lives! ;-)

  • All of the songs are written and performed by them except this one which is a cover.

  • Actually most of the songs weren't written by them, they did however record all their own instruments and Danny Cooksey co-wrote some of the lyrics on certain tracks.

  • Tokio Hotel was entirely the creation of its members. No producers were involved. Twins Bill and Tom were the progenitors, mostly Bill.

  • This song pumps me up.

  • That was one of the BEST albums ever! Too bad they didn't do another one. My fav song from the album is "Devil In The Angel." I know there was video made, but does anyone have a live performance clip?

  • I miss all these guys. This vid bring back my childhood! I'm bad nineteennnnnnnnn!!!!

  • amazing.. do u know where can I find their lyrics on the web??

  • Sorry.. I don't know where to find the lyrics.
