  • What is that noise in the background?

  • imagine a plane all of a sudden crashed rite next to ur house because of the tornado

  • i didnt eve see any rain

  • @rossdaboss1959 *sarcasm* "its a good thing I have my life raft and closet full of can-food ready then!"

  • The recent Tornado was the only one I have witnessed. I heard there was one in Sunset Park around 2009 or 2009 and now this. I never heard of any of them, but now I got to see the most recent one.

  • There was one two years ago...

  • I remember when this hit a few years ago, it started at Church avenue and Macdonald Avenue then worked its way over toward Marlborough avenue.

  • That wasn't a tornado

  • @MrJkid1 yes it was

  • @MrJkid1 my aunt lived where it was she came out of the shower and the window broke and took her towel with it

  • @The2Coolest2 lol i guessit was a tornado

  • @MrJkid1 lol

  • @MrJkid1 yes it was did'nt you see the broken trees and green/gray sky

  • I don't remember hearing about this. We're due for one tonight! DOROTHYYYYYYYY!

  • It was close to were I liv lol I waoke up herring the thunder and lighting and the wind and rain but this was in 2007 of august lol cool vid

  • the tornado actually hit the place where i lived and i slept through the whole thing LOL. i didnt kno until i went outside the next morning and saw the traffic lights fallen down and trees on top of cars. i was so suprised because i have never seen a tornado or flood in brooklyn!

  • lol i didnt feel shit

  • god damn. people told me about it but i never belived it

  • I remember that night. Trying to sleep during that loud storm in Astoria, Queens. Then waking up in the morning to so many text messages about how a Tornato has hit Brooklyn, turn on the news, etc. It was such an unreal day.

  • I live in Staten Island. I was lying in bed, and all of a sudden a huge wind gust went by and rain poured down. I was one of the most instance storms I've ever seen.

  • NEVER leave any window open during a tornado! The damage will be greater! Enough air will get into the house believe me!

  • i live on staten island and work nights.. i got home around 5AM and when i got out the car.. it was so eerily quiet.. you couldn't hear ANYTHING!! and i didnt know about about the twister till later that day.. it was a nasty storm but the tornado missed me, thank god.. i live on a 2nd floor

  • Yikes!! I live about 25 miles from Brooklyn.

  • i live like 3 miles lol, and i saw nothing.

  • In northwest NJ we didn't get a tornado. But this storm came through where I live at 2:45 in the morning. I produced lightning like I never saw before.

  • I have a feeling staten Island will be hit with a tornado soon.

  • Uh Oh, O____O

  • ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!?!!? LMFAO!! You know how old that fact is??? My dad used it when he was in school 30 YEARS AGO!!It's a KNOWN Fact NOW that keeping your windows open will just cause more damage. OMG haha I CAN'T BELEIVE I'm hearing this.

  • yes we do people just ignore them like the lighting storm we had the friday befor the tornado it was crazy and the summer befor that we had a real bad storm in the bronx and upper manhattan

  • This is not true on the windows being opened. That is an old wives tale you should always keep windows opened. Trust me I live in Oklahoma we keep our windows shut.

  • you should leave the window cracked open, unliek the woman int he background was saying. The enormous pressure change outside can cause your windows to burst if you dont let the pressure equalize

  • I am also surprised to see a tornado in Brooklyn. I am from Pittsburgh and was hoping everyone was safe!

  • Tornadoes are not very rare in New York, They are seldom and occasanial. They usually happen in June, July, and August, and they are usually weak like the ones in Flordia.

You talk about Tornadoes being very rare in some area look at Israel, Guam, Alaska, Russia, Maine, Oregon, and Artic Canada!!!!

  • Glad I moved!!! You folks in Brooklyn better start preparing, shit is only going to get worse. Mother Nature is not pleased. Good luck!!

  • I didn't hear a damn thing!I was sleeping without knowing what the hell was happening!

  • cool, first tornado in Brooklyn since before Dorothy and the "Wizard of Oz"

  • that woke me up and i wall all the way in queens.... WOW

  • cant belive there was a torando in nyc...im shocked...

  • Damn tahts a lot of wind but i wish i could actually see the twister itself..we don't get alot of storms like this here in NY

  • Was that Margaret Hamilton on a bicycle that morphs into a broom that I saw zooming by? Best wishes to lowland, waterfront Brooklynites (in Bay Ridge, people have lawns! How quaint is that?) from us Central Brooklyn tenement-dwelling highlanders. :-) Also, I second what whamm234 said.

  • lmao, we have the subways. let things be and lets not forget, New Yorkers are the strongest Americans, even mother nature can't stop us.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i went to skool out there i am soo shocked. neva thought a twister to hit BK

  • omgooossshhh i cvant believe there was a tornado here i live in bk and thats so scary!!!!!!!!

  • shoot some aftermath shoots, ill have to admit, never seen so much of a natural disaster. so close to home. Like said to their comment, subways are the safest place to hide during a tornado, so we are pretty lucky to have that on our sides.

  • Awesome... How about some post-twister damage shots?

  • if by that, the after math, even i have some footage of that, Just uploaded. but this video seen here is the best and maybe only video footage of that tornado
