Gretsch Bass Review and Demo

hi dave, i came across this video in trying to find out more about the gretsch junior jet bass... it sounds great and i feel it might be the right bass for my musical interests, as well as my small hands. however, i am wondering how well it stays in tune? i've heard that short scale instruments, in general, don't stay in tune. :-/ though i've not seen anything mentioning this in reviews i've seen/read about this bass.

it uses the same gotoh style tuners as a lot of bass do

i was thinking of picking one of these up but i heard short scale basses suck for recording what do you guys think, is that bullshit or what cause it sounds good to me lol

dave i really love this bass, i wanted to buy one to try bass out when i went to go pick it up the paint on the neck was flaked/flaking off ...what the hell went wrong there?/?

a friend of mine has one and its a real nice bass , he got his about $ 60 cheaper but im not sure where he got his.

Thanks for posting this vid. It's a rare find, as is the bass itself in local stores. Saw my first one ever in-store yesterday. Nice light feel and balance w/good acoustic tone. Didn't have time to plug n play...so thanks. It sounds great. Gretsch is quality. I've got a 5150 that needs this as a playmate. peace.

What's the difference (If there is any) between the synchromatic and electromatic versions? I've got the latter, and it looks almost identical (Save for the headstock).

I love this bass (Although I swapped the strings for some Roto 77s)...
