@chinesedude001 They're not screaming- lobsters don't have vocal cords. The sound that is sometimes mistaken for screaming is air whistling it's way out of the lobster's stomach. They have no brain and their nervous system is so primitive that they don't feel pain (they're on the same evolutionary scale as a grasshopper). They die in just a few short seconds after being submerged. So really, eating a lobster that has been boiled alive is probably the most humane meat dish one could eat.

7 mins for the first pound and 3 mins per pound above that is not enough time. That would be 10 mins for a 2 lb lobster? Practically raw. A 1 1/2lb (the smallest you should eat) takes about 11 mins, a 2lb-er (the best size) about 16 mins. If you're putting more than 2 in a pot together, add a couple of minutes to the cooking time because the water will stop boiling temporarily.
