@winer400 Azure Dreams is a rogue-like. I don't have of any PC Rogue-likes that also feature monster catching, but there are lots of rogue-likes for the PC, like Diablo.

nice review but I dont think its a game for me. I guess rouge-like games rnt for me. I would hate it to be level 1 over and over again. would dfenetly piss me off

@WuschelofDespair It's not really like that. YEAH you start back at level 1, but keep in mind you can bring 5 items with you... and if you have a sick sword and shield... you're already way ahead. had my gameboy not gotten stolen I'd STILL be playing this game today. It's on my top 5 favorites. There's just so much cool stuff to find and collect it's not even funny. I think one of my favorite parts was a monster you could throw loot at in the wild and it'd spit out a different item.

@DeltaElite121 that monster in the psx version was called Barong (which is a name of a god in some asian religion,chinese,or thai,I'm not sure) :P

In GBA maybe it was called different.

This game looks interesting. I've never played a rogue-like RPG before, but I have kinda wanted to look into it. And I don't know why pedobear was in this video other than because of one young anime girl in the game, but for some reason I laughed every time he was on screen. Still, it would've been more fitting if he was in a review for a game that had nothing but under-aged girls meant for fanservice.

hey, i played this on the gameboy yonks ago, and there were 99 additional levels hudden underground, full of superpowered monsters. Is that not in the psx version or did he just not mention it?

@ghostlyredfox That was hell going through all of those... I remember so many times where I BARELY got out alive. I'd be running for my life trying to find an emergency teleport... all the while hoping that I'd stumble on an ova seed to catch something rare when I was down there. I remember the dragons being my favorite. I used to mix them with all kinda of stuff. I had like 5 of them.. I know I had a regular, two headed, three headed, and some other types. What a great time that was.

i was reading a game article about an upcoming rogue-like game called z.h.p for the psp. it compared the game to the game you're talking about. i just learned about what a rogue like game and it looks very appealing to me cause i like hardcore games

I remember playing this game quite a bit, the dungeon crawling elements and the random nature of the tower were very cool as well as the town building elements. The dating sim aspect was a nice touch, as the girls are quite cute.

That said, I didn't really like this video as much as I thought I would. It is nice, just not really my cup of tea. Good luck to you TheRpgFanatic.

@lcook3 You will never find any video of those features because they do not exist. The rumors you could do either were spread years ago on GameFAQs and people have said you can do them, but never stated how. That's because it's impossible.

man, this game reminds me of a more cool version of Diablo which is also a rogue like. I really gotta get this because Diablo was a favorite of mine. After looking it up on wikipedia, it has elements of Harvest Moon, and Sim City too.

@DarkTemplarKain Well, sort of. You can purchase new buildings for your town and upgrade your house, but they play little role in the game. The only exception is you need to build certain buildings to get certain girls.

My friend was just discussing the merits of the Mystery Dungeon genre of games. I'm not sure if I've ever played such a game, but they seem interesting and I have no problem with the levels being reset.

If you like this style, something tells me you'll be kinder to Dawn of Mana than more reviewers!

I'm really glad I checked out some of your videos dude. Now I understand rogue like games, i love the fuck outta those, lol. I always heard about how Diablo took elements of Rouge. I loved Darkcloud that also played a lot like this, I will remember this genre for sure cause of you dude =)
