  • This is a temporary fix. Looks well and good on the video because the repair has not tested against time and stress. The problem will come back very shortly. So quit misleading everyone into thinking they can fix there ps3's like this. It is far from an actual fix!

  • @Th3mast3r69 I didn't say it was a permanent fix so how can it be misleading? I also mentioned in the comments to someone else that it happened again, meaning its not permanent. As mentioned in my description, its a thank you video for fixing YLOD, which it did, and did the other 4 times to other PS3s. No where did I say this will fix your PS3 forever, its up to the user to do their own research.

  • hey dark2568.....is your ps3 still running a year after this fix?

  • @aranclarke This was my friend's PS3 that i fixed. It got YLOD again after 7 months, which is still a long time anyway.

  • @Dark2568 .....yes 7 months is good...compared to the 2 days the hairdryer fix lasted!i stuffed a matress with the amount dust i pulled out of it,so guess thats what caused it.so do did you just do the gilksy fix again and its been working to date?..i dont mind doing the procedure every few months but wonder what a permanent fix is?..what sony do?...re beading?thaks for your reply :O)

  • @aranclarke Haha yeah best to keep it clean from dust. I did the fix again but then it got YLOD about a month later and so my friend just bought a slim instead. The best thing to do would be to buy a slim, it may cost a lot of money now but you won't have any trouble later on with loosing save files etc. Im not sure what sony do for a perm fix but im sure it wont be cheap and better off buying a newer slim. Try get a heatgun though.

  • myn turned on after i did your fix and the n4 seconds later it made the fan run supper fast and the nit shut off idk whats wrong id send it to yoou for like 100 bucks but i dk if your in us or not

  • wow i just need flux and alcohol and i can fix my ps3 , but i cant get a hold of flux and alcohol , lol

  • thanks for the thanks lol

  • @gilksy1

Gilsky knows what he's talking about. I like the way he used the term "earthed" to describe what we call "grounded" in the U.S.

I have green light on a PS3 where the YLOD used to be. Got it fixed in time for my son's birhday and am forever grateful!
