Im 26 and Ive been listening to Krishnamurti for the last 4 years and its been a ride. Really at first it went against everything I grew up knowing. Competition, striving to be better, struggle makes us stronger. Trying to attain the image. I revolted, yet I kept coming back. The message kept challenging my understanding. The difference between pleasure and love. What if the real prophet, even though I know K would hate that title, washereandthemessagewasmissedbecauseit wasnt one of salvation..
everybody i"ve ever known seems to think Kis too heavy man...& worthy to ignore in favour of velvety silvery merlin bubble.....i c u have been giving this absolute curiosity.....he can watch & explain the watching, registration turning to desire turning to pursuince turning to fear turning to displacment disengagment broken in piece"s as the heart break quote go"s.....ect ect ect.....enjoyed listening to your YOUTUBE......thanx ricky....
I read Jiddu Krishnamurti's book called On Fear. Truly life changing. I have read countless books and this one has been the most profound...challenging how I think!
if i love death, does that mean i can kill with impunity? wage war to end war? make peace at the end of spear? all these questions, not enough thoughts..or do thoughts trigger questions and thus are good and not fear inducing at all.. was Krishnamurti wrong perhaps...was he perhaps not the son of God, if not, then perhaps he wasn't even a particularly gifted teacher, he apparently wasn't a very good student... can you be a dumb student and still be a good teacher? his words are a bit abstract..
very choppy review.. as you say so yourself... love transcends? how? apparently, we don't need to 'care' but we need to sow the seeds of love and 'watch' them grow? sounds pretty passive.. does love do nothing? just be? just being is love? then we're all loving.. but some love to wage war, even if those who suffer under a hail of bombs hate to die. can we ever love the idea no less than the reality of 'dying'? if we 'die to ourselves' though, whose going to buy the groceries.. if i love death..
we all have our fears and problems in a way, often indirectly created for us by the media and laws to create the need of religion for hope or a government for the solution and being good or accepted by working and pay taxes, buying a certain label or object. if we let that aside and focus on figuring out how to automate technology to produce and work for us, so we can simply just enjoying living. there would no fear, competition, hate or war. but hey, there is no profit in that, so who cares! ;)
I used to think why this world is not decent ? why there is competition everywhere? why even in a relation love is limited and expecting in return ? and I find the answer form J.K "The enemy is you not someone" Now I don't even care to love everyone unconditionally without expecting in return. I believe in love instead of GOD.
I saw Krishnamurti speak in the '70's several times at the Oak Grove in Ojai California. I am so happy you have discovered one of the great people in our age. I wish you a continued very happy spiritual journey. Keep on keeping on!
@nwalkerm its really cool to know that cute blonds are into non-dualistic concepts. I read that book when I was on vacation and you got his message spot on. Hey check out Wayne Liquorman on Youtube. He is also a non dualistic non-guru. I went to one of his gatherings when he was in my city.
she says love is caring about the tree after she says love is not caring. Love actually is be in harmony to the universal movement of inmense and eternal order. You have to see then what is order, like preventing wars, feed yourself with good food, cleaning the dirt, generate beauty in your surroundings, etc
J. Krishnamurti has helped me to remove many barriers, and conditions in my life that I did not know was there. I applaud you for reading, and sharing your experience with people, keep going........
I first read 'Freedom from the known' 24 years ago and it made a lasting impression on me. It just sounds true. I have not been able to transform myself in the way that Krishnamurti challenged us to do but I will not stop trying. You sound like an intelligent woman. check out Eckhart Tolle and Douglas Harding who also teach similar wisdom to K.
A moneyless, classless, stateless communities of humanity expressing our freedom in creative harmonious cooperation for a world that is so POTENTIALLY AND ACTUALLY nourishing. Capitalism in any form, Statist or Corporatist is the denial of our common humanity in a politically manipulated, tyrannical armed MARKET SYSTEM of artificial scarcity that is designed to perpetuate the enslavement of immense humanity for material interest of the criminal ruling elite

I think it most important to know ourselves. I've found a well of knowledge about myself, stuff that is very difficult to put in words or be honest about. Upon bringing these trends into awareness, I also become aware of it in other people. And the whole charade of humanity seems pretty pointless. It seems self-contradictory to love someone in particular and call it unconditional. Thus, it seems that romantic love is ego-based, but doesn't exclude loving all and having a partner for utility.
@Rybot9000 Now, I know that is a touchy issue in Buddhism and many schools have marriages. But for my own personal battle with truth, it seems to me that what is sought in romantic love is the consumptive love taught by the tradition and not agape. A partner for utility could offer temporary relief from the struggle over ego-based desires and provide life-support in other regards. But it can also be a vehicle for stronger ego-based attachments. I would argue this is more likely to occur.
@Rybot9000 That was very well worded. This has happened to all my relationships. I always enter them not wanting to take them seriously, get attached, and say "lets just enjoy our moments together". Ive always tried to explain this to my "counter parts" but either they wouldn't understand our time would go by and the latter of your statement would flourish.

@Lawsome101 I don't quite see love as work I see love as transcending the ego and allowing oneself to put another before our own well being. Now, in love is fleeting and doesn't take much attention and is more about one's own desires.

the sadest part i find about breaking free from conditioning is .. that you realise how enslaved you are in a society of conditioned people and authority. great video :)
You are very blessed to have found esoteric text at your age
but we are also very blessed to have found it in this lifetime.

Nice video. I am very familiar with Krishnamurti. Oh I could tell you some stories.
His line of love is more in line with the Oriental idea of Love which is agape. And not that of the individual, exclusive kind.
