  • @faithm: It was a mental and emotional challenge to embrace breathing again; to trust that I didn't *need* to be tethered to an oxygen tank with air forced into me all hours of the day anymore. I spent my first post-op weeks on so many meds that I was not consistently, completely aware of that big change (suffocating v. breathing), but when my pain meds were lowered, it all really began to sink in. There was so little discomfort (pain, pressure), in comparison, that it was like there was none.

  • Must be so shocking to go from suffocating to being able to breath, and feel no (or less?) pressure in your body.
