Rodrigo y Gabriela with Al Di Meola in Paris

I like Rodrigo and Gabriela's music but this has to be a humbling experience for them. If they only knew that Al Di Meola had played this same piece with Paco de Lucia and John McLaughlin, being the nice people R&G are, I'm sure they would have declined out of respect to the guitar greats.

No disrespect to Rodrigo & Gabriela but they are novices aka rank amateurs and should not be sharing the same stage with Al Di Meola. Take away R&G fancy (& silly & annoying) flashy techniques and in actual fact you have two very mediocre players.

You might niot like it, but ist's definitely not easy to perform. And comparing guitarrists is...dumb to say the least. Music is not about technique, or better or worse. it's about the godamn, freakin M-U-S-I-C. So do a favor, stop comparing. Al doesn't care. RyG don't care. No one cares.

What is a tuner? Does it somehow keep the strings in tune? I thought that one needed to turn the tuning pegs to do that.

@kenp3L It's just a regular tuner dude. It's attached to the neck and it works exactly like any other tuner.

@kenp3L .....It's a thing that when you pluck the strings, it tells you whether or not it's out of tune....it's not like magic or something.

@MoarOfTehRawkege Ok. I understand now. I have one of those things with a pick-up on a cord that clips to the guitar or harp and has a needle that tells you when each string is in tune. But then you set it aside when you are done. I didn't know that some people left the device on the instrument all the time.

Very nice. I have listened to DiMeola since Return to Forever days and seen him live many times. Just recently I became hooked on Rodrigo y Gabriela after hearing them kick butt on the tonight show. What is really amazing is how Rodrigo y Gabriela worked their way up from being homeless in Dublin and playing in the street for change to where they are now in a few short years.
