So if Obama and the Democrats want a victory in 2012, they need focus more on formats like TYT.

Okay, here's what will happen. The TYT network will stay on the net, with more and more shows. There will be shows on the web and satellite radio. But TYT is not going away, I assure you. Either way the webcast is not going away. They're just expanding their presence. This is a good thing. Go tell Randy Gonzales.

@barretme Here's the problem. When you're on TV, it is a very different format than the internet. On the net, he shoots from the hip because it is much more like talk radio. On TV, you have a script to which you have to adhere word for word. The segments are timed to the second, and the way to anchor a news show is very different from the way to anchor a webcast. Cenk HAS sold out, I am convinced he is a good guy, but MSNBC is corporately owned, any sane person would not expect journalism which is corporately owned to be spilling the truth. This is why we ought to support independent shows which have no corporate sponsorship. If Cenk is any different, can anyone here tell me how many times he has had CHOMSKY or ZINN on? (2/2) ....... and the TYT studios being in LA? When you Skype in or call in to co-host the show, it sounds like garbage. If you want to give the TYT Army crappy video for the money the pay so that you can host a cable show, then you need to put the money down for some better technology. When I tune in, it is not the same. I love Ben, but he can't carry that show. Ana is not nearly enough to keep Army subscribers. People pay to hear you, not see Ana in makeup and shoulder-less dresses.

In minute 3:00 - 4:00 Cenk talks about how the Whitehouse looks at cable news. What should be apparent to the Democrats is that their future is in the youth, who are on average more liberal than those who watch cable news, and the youth tend to get a disproportioned amount of their information from web based sources like YouTube and TYT. So if Obama and the Democrats want a victory in 2012, they need focus more on formats like TYT.

Okay, here's what will happen. The TYT network will stay on the net, with more and more shows. There will be shows on the web and satellite radio. Cenk may or may not be the host of some of these shows, but he will be at least a regular presence. TYT will either become a one hour show on MSNBC or Cenk will have a similar show. But TYT is not going away, I assure you. Either way the webcast is not going away. They're just expanding their presence. This is a good thing. Go tell Randy Gonzales.

We'll see how it all turns out, but you can only cover so much with so many assets, and I fear that TYT was doing just fine without this. By the time Cenk comes back someone else may have taken note of TYT's success and brought it up to the next level. Problem is that that may not be TYT.
In 20 years cable news will be a thing from the past and TYT's nowadays groundbreaking format will be the norm. I think he may be losing sight of the big picture.

And yes, if your main goal is to get rich ('Of course!'), and be a journalist 2nd, then there are big problems with you selling out to Fox News (I mean, MSNBC News; neither are really journalism).

@barretme Here's the problem. When you're on TV, it is a very different format than the internet. On the net, he shoots from the hip because it is much more like talk radio. On TV, you have a script to which you have to adhere word for word. The segments are timed to the second, and the way to anchor a news show is very different from the way to anchor a webcast. There is no selling out there, it is just a different medium.

@barretme Two, Fox and MSNBC are NOT the same. MSNBC is much more fact-based and does not follow talking points dictated by the DNC. Can you imagine the DNC even issuing talking points? People like Maddow and Olbermann are not at all like Beck or O'Reilly. Fox is a political propaganda factory. MSNBC is an opinion and journalism station. There is real reporting on MSNBC, and the false equivalency you're peddling just serves to dumb down the political discourse in this country.

I think Cenk could be an anti-Beck for MSNBC. Olbermann grates on people a little bit with his reading from Thurber and his pomposity in comparing himself to Edward R. Murrow.
