Flowmaster don't even come close to magnapacks,for quality and sound.the magnapacks are a straight through muffler,which flow's better than flowmaster and wont rust.check out this guy's car with Magnapacks,his screen name is,4511point21,his car sound's like a GT40. Really BAD ASS sounding GT.
yah i just bought the flowmaster exhaust axle back and put it with the stock pipes and right now it makes a low growl but not as loud as yours...idk if i should get different pipes or not to make it sound louder
@vietnameeseguy I bought an 07 stang gt about 3 months ago and had the flowmaster american thunder mufflers on it. It had the low growl also, unless I got on it. I liked it, however it wasn't loud enough if you know what I mean. All you have to do is get the catalytic converters taken off and that will do the job. I just had mine taken off today and wow what a difference. :)

Hey I recently got a 2008 GT. Im shopping around for what kind of exhaust to put on there. Love the setup. My question is, with the offroad H pipe, did u have any problems as far as inspections, check engine light, etc?

I have heard just about every set up on the S197 Mustangs, and by far yours sounds the best. I have the stainless steel version of your flowmasters sitting in my garage and are now considering going to a off road H and installing them after viewing this . Its the delta flow 60's that does the trick..just the right balance. Good job.

Everyone knows street signs are just a 'suggestion'. "Drive it like you stole it" Sounds good. I've got the pypes o/r x-pipe and Mac flowpath mufflers on my 08 GT and it sounds very similar. Mine might be just a tad louder but you can't really tell on a computer.

I went with an o/r x. I listened to o/r flowmaster setups and it sounds good to me. I got enough torque to spare on my car. So I'm going with the better flow. I'll get a video on a soon as I can. Car is awsome!
honestly there really isnt a wrong choice here...it all depends on what sound ur looking for personally they both sound good....and ur right the x is more free flowing which gives u more high end horsepower but the h is a little more restrictive but it gives u more low end torque.....honestly i went with the h bc it sounds better with my mufflers.....and i would love to see a video of ur gt500 : )

I always had a dream of owning a 92-93 ford mustang 5.0 cuz thats what the cool kids drove to and from school. Now that im a decade out from highschool I can finally go buy a new 2011 mustang gt from factory. The new camaro look doesnt look right. So I went to a ford dealer to check out a mustang. i fell in love. There's just that special bond between man and machine.
@cordertl unless it's 2010 camaro, the older camaros isn't much quicker than the GT, plus the GT rides better, more realiable, and feels better when you put your foot down, that hood rise up, great sound you cant get from the camaro
lets see the 2010 camaro has about 100 more ponies and beats the mustang by under .1 of a second wouldnt call that slower just better enginering. and dont worry 2011 has 5.0 going in it and will def kill the mustang by a landslide then

Sadly in my area I can't get away with no cats. I did replace the stock H-pipe with a high flow JBA one (and JBA long tube headers) and still the Flows mostly drone. Hardly any old school feel to them. So I'm looking around at different mufflers now.
mil eliminators dont work on 08's only 07's and down..... it just has a check engine light on does not affect the car at all..... it did run rich right after it was installed but it leaned it self out after about a week of driving and now its a champ
I am about 80% sure I want the same h-pipe. I already have the American Thunder Flowmasters for about 1 year now. I stumbled on this video and was amazed at the difference. My only concern is smog registration and cop harassment for having no cats. Have you ever had an issue with either one of these?

yup to be expected my car was very sluggish because of this and causes the car to richen out........ just drive it normally and get on it a couple times and it will re-calibrate itself..... my car runs like a champ now but a tuner will fix it....
Sounds nice and loud. Question on the H-Pipe. Did you have any problems w/ the 02 sensor or any other electrical calibration issues while running an off-road (no cat) h-pipe? I was thinking of doing the same but I'm hearing mixed reviews...

You could have got a UPR O/R X-Pipe for a little meaner sound and better dyno numbers..i made the switch from BBK and i'm 100% satisfied and there only 160 bucks..k later man.
i chose the h pipe over the x for 2 reasons 1 the h pipe sounds better the x gives it a raspy sound to it..... and 2 i got the summit h pipe for 130 shipped and it sounds great and the quality is superb

ya if you like the raspy Nascar sound then I guess an x pipe would be better. In this case I think he got it just right!

i heard both x and h pipe and yes the x pipe makes it sound really raspy and obnoxious h has a deep mellow growl like the old 5.0s

I am about 80% sure I want the same h-pipe. I already have the American Thunder Flowmasters for about 1 year now. I stumbled on this video and was amazed at the difference. My only concern is smog registration and cop harassment for having no cats. Have you ever had an issue with either one of these?

yup to be expected my car was very sluggish because of this and causes the car to richen out........ just drive it normally and get on it a couple times and it will re-calibrate itself..... my car runs like a champ now but a tuner will fix it....

for the most part flowmasters just arent good enough on S197s... and then i stumbled upon this video and...

Sounds nice and loud. Question on the H-Pipe. Did you have any problems w/ the 02 sensor or any other electrical calibration issues while running an off-road (no cat) h-pipe? I was thinking of doing the same but I'm hearing mixed reviews...

You will just throw a code and your CEL will come on. A handheld tuner or some MIL eliminators (if you can find them) will do the trick.

I just put an o/r x with some flowmaster 40's on my black 08 gt 5-speed about four days ago and now I know what it sounds like when I drive by. Thanks! (a coupla blips of the throttle as you pass the camera would make it complete). Of course I agree with ECPLST 100% because I have been looking at clips for the past two weeks every night.

You could have got a UPR O/R X-Pipe for a little meaner sound and better dyno numbers..i made the switch from BBK and i'm 100% satisfied and there only 160 bucks..k later man.

i chose the h pipe over the x for 2 reasons 1 the h pipe sounds better the x gives it a raspy sound to it..... and 2 i got the summit h pipe for 130 shipped and it sounds great and the quality is superb
