Anyone who thinks that ridiculous Lisa Simpson version of this is better than this classic original is CRAZY & is disrespecting Carole King & the greatness of this song!
Just heard this song today and God it back some good memories of a world less cruel & harsh like we live in today. They can't make music like this anymore no matter how hard they try. It made me feel so good, I had to Google it tonight just to hear again. Thanks for this great piece!
I usually make smartass troll comments on YouTube (such as "Carole clearly stole this from Justin Beiber"). But this song is just so freakin good, I can't bring myself to do it.
@BiBritable yes it's sure lisa version is very very good ^^, but the simpsons reffer lots of musical repertory, in the reals versions of legendary sounds
I love this song so much, I would actually quite happily listen to it all day, listened to it 4 times already :) This is definitely carole kings most awesome song, even better than you've got a friend...
JAZZMAN THE VOICE of the 70s and beyond. IT will live beyond al eternity. Carol King at her best. This doo wop rocknroll historian who knows great music when he hears it is telling the world. THIS IS CAROLS FINEST SONG HER FINEST HOUR. EVER. God Bless. TOMK
Carole King I heard all your songs from 1962 on but JAZZMAN is your gift to the music world. this rocknroll&doo wop historian who knows great music when he hears it can tell you JAZZMAN will live on like other greats prior for all ETERNITY. May you live to be 200 but may JAZZMAN live for 2000 years. I know what i say. Supreme music the words the beat the feeling the era. JAZZMAN the voice of the 70s and beyond. trust me. I KNOw. God Bless. TOMK
I remember when I first heard this song at work. I couldn't wait to get home and play Tom Scott's tenor sax solos. I became a a big fan of Tom Scott and the L.A. Express after that. I'd always loved Carole's stuff. Especially the soprano sax solo on "It's Too Late"
This 1974 pop song has always been a favorite of mine, the sound is so crisp and smooth, along with the unmistakable vocals of Carole King. This photographic tribute is outstanding, these are pictures of some of the greatest jazz performers to ever walk the earth, kudos for this video sundroid.
Have to agree; she is an incredibly talented songwriter. We could do with more of her like now. Instead we are inundated with banale, forgettable "singer-songwriters", whose chord repertoire is extremely limited.
This brings me right back to '74. I loooove this song. This is a classic and Carole is a gem and a real classic. I loooove her. Thank god for Carole King and her beautiful voice. They just don't make songs like this anymore. She is the BEST!!!!!!
This is definitely one of her best hits; although all of her hits are great!!! She's one of the best singer/songwriters of the 1970s and beyond, IMHO, of course. I really like the lyrics to this song.
I think that Carole King is a good singer because she has a charm voice and I like all of her songs I believe that she is the best singer after Barbra Streisnad and Madonna
REPLY TO goyito1962346: Carole is the Best Singer/Sonwtiter/Pianist of the '60s, & especially '70's- still strong today. I would say, as a colleague, she is right up there
with Steisand. Madonna was good after she found her singing voice in latter years, however, not an Icon like the prior two. This
doesn't mean that I don't like her...Just not the same calibre.
"When the Jazzman's testifyin' A faithless man believes He can sing you into paradise Or bring you to your knees" great lyrics! although my fav part is when she's singing: "It's the late night side of morning In the darkness of his soul He can fill a room with sadness As he fills his horn with tears He can cry like a fallen angel When risin' time is near" by the way, did she write this song?
Quoting from wikipedia: ""Jazzman" is a 1974 song performed by Carole King, from her album Wrap Around Joy. King provided the sheet music for the song, while David Palmer wrote the lyrics."
Thank you for posting Jazz Man By Carol King. I always loved that song. I liked seeing Thelonious Monk in the video. Much enjoyed, and much appreciated!!!
Awesome! Although, being a saxophone player, I think you didn't show enough saxes in the video, but then that's just me. It is still an awesome video and I love this song! Thanks for a great video!
great video ..my favorite carol king song...just amazing changes and a horn that just makes you feel alive..if you want to take your blues away this is a great tune.
