@unknownlankan,you dont know what you are talking about.Male lions patrol and protect the territory from hyenas and other lions.Without a male lion,the pride is weak.Check another video where 15 hyenas drive away 6 lionesses from their kill,and they all run away when a single male lion comes.

I think I watched the lionesses kill you are talking about. The hyenas didnt seem to have upper hand in that scene. What I think happened was that the lionesses have already satisfied themselves eating much of their kill, so hyenas came around to harrass them that its enough we can finish the remains or we die hungry. Its nature. I dont think the hyenas terrify the lionesses. You will also notice, if you do, that the lionesses seemed more than satisfy in their meal. The scenario was funny to me.

Hyenas are not scared of lionesses as much as male lions.The point is proven by the fact that the hyenas left the meal and ran away at the sight of a single male lion.The assumption that the male lion is lazy is ridiculous.He has a powerful role in the survival of his pride.
