Somebody has been watching the Ride like a Pro videos. Well ok he's an instructor so maybe those are old hat videos. And scrapping your pegs/running boards IS a good thing in an event like this. Look at some of the LEO competions and the afore mentions videos. It tells you just where your bike is and how far you can go especially in an emergency. Good video and great riding skills. Kudos!
That wasn't no clean run -- It's a clean run when you dont scrape.... and hell using a 1500 or 1800 is cheating anyway -- Them things are too easy to flip around compared to a GL1100 or GL1200 (the 1000's if set up right are the easiest to twitch around of GL the family)
Very impressive and has good control on friction zone. Are you a motorcop? I never see a goldwing riden to this extreme. It is fun to watch and I thought the Japanese police motor officer were good but YOU GOT THE CAKE.
This isn't easy to do! It takes an enormous amount of practice to maneuver the 1800 around with tight precision like this. I know so! I ride like this but would need a bit of practice to get up to snuff.
What a wonderful example of pure dancing perfection! There's lots of great bikes out there now, but the Goldwing just seems to be in a class of it's own, a class without rival or equal...
@mutatedrock fair point but take a novice rider and put them on a proper "sports bike" they could do all that... now take the same novice rider put them on that mammoth and try do the same thing and watch them fall off lol. point is a sports bike is made to do that. whereas the mammoth needs a very skilled rider to do it and isnt designed for it ;)
If you are one of the folks from RoadCraft Motorcycle Academy coming to see this video - this is our instructor, Steve, showing you how it CAN be done, using the skills we teach - and a LOT of "perfect practice". Way to go Steve, you make it look so easy. RoadCraft will give you the tools you need to learn to handle your bike this well.

Come now the GL18 has wheelied, dragged and gone knee down at track days. Why can't it be a "sport"bike.

Neat, the Goldwing may be big but it can still do the moves in the right hands.
