FFVII, VIII and IX were great too because of Nobuo Uematsu. In fact, he was one of the composer for FFX, next to Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano.

Nobuo is the clue! That's why since Final Fantasy X there's no magic, no emotion.

@JMSLionheart I'm gonna have to dissgree with you on the part of no emotion since FFX. I will say nnot near the amount of emotion as X, but X set the bar pretty damn high. I thought XIII had some music with quite a bit of emotion, especially the song that plays while you fight your way through Oerba.
