i remember watching this on the Sunday night result show and being absolutely blown away, just shocked at how creative her performance was, i've followed her career since that night and am so happy that she has the role of Elphaba in Wicked, truly deserved, she is one of the most talented British theatre stars and we should be proud to have such a performer. Can't wait to see her and meet her for a second time in December when I see Wicked again! :D

The final two should have been Rachel and Jodie. I'm glad Jodie won, because she i IS Nancy, and rachel has gotten so much out of this competition. If she had won she wouldn't have been in We Will Rock You and she might not have gotten Elphaba.
I really don't understand why some posters need to be so negative. I understand critiquing, but the intent of a critique is to improve the presenter positively. I did not see any "Nancy" from the beginning of the show void of talent, and for that they command respect.

Yeah she does, but for me her voice is soo much like Kerry Ellis.. I've seen her in WWRY twice now (only once as Meat, the other as Scaramouche) and her 'No-One But You' is almost identical to Kerry's.. i.e PERFECTION!

Jodie's 'As Long As He Needs Me' was absolutely awful, and probably scared the life out of Cameron Macintosh!!!! Her 'Needs' lasts about 3 seconds and sounds strained and wobbly. How anyone can even put Rachel and Jodie in the same league is amazing! Rachel's performance was strong, heartbreaking, powerful and emotional. She had an excuse to deliver a poor performance: her dream had been snatched away from her. Jodie on the other hand had made it and should have rocked it! Rachel = FABULOUS!
Jodie's last ALAHNM isn't that great but that was because she was in a state of shock. I think Rachel should have been in the finale but I still wanted Jodie to win and she did!
Im not saying that Rachel isnt a good performer she was great and she will make a fantastic west end star I just dont think she was right for Nancy and she looks desperate and manic and if you look at the others they go up the stairs once the locket is off but she just stands there asif to say I should be here. Yeah, I agree that Sarah would have made a great Nancy, or Niamh. Rachel's great but I've never exactly been a big fan, don't know why though. However its nice to see that she's putting her newfound fame to good use by helping charities back home. =)

Fake? Acting on TV is much different to acting on a stage, and she was the only one who got that.

Personally, I could never warm to Rachel. She never convinced me that she was mega-talented or the best person for the part. Even here, I felt like she was shouting more than singing or putting the emotion across.

From show 1 I thought Rachel was totally FAKE with all her mannerisms. Whenever she sang, moved, spoke or even just looked at the camera she seems insincere. The three finalists were all fresh and sincere without any of Rachels diva antics and awful cliche mannerisms. She plays emotion, she does not FEEL them.

Rachels a fantastic all-round performer, and she isn't as polished as they say- she grew up in Belfast, left the country, has been around a good while fighting for her dream,etc. So she could have showed the gritty side, but I'm glad Sam was saved instead. Her talents more raw, and IMO her voice is easier to listen to- Rachel had a tendancy to go a wee bit OTT,but only coz she wanted it so much.
However, I still firmly believe that Niamh should have been Nancy- she was in a league of her own.
The only reason ALW sent her home was because the public didn't like her. I mean this was her third time in the bottom two even though she did a stunning performance. She didn't stand a chance in the finale. Jodie to Win!!!!

No way is Rachel over the top. Everyone else is UNDER-performing. Good stagecraft is completely different to acting for TV. Rachel is a professional stage actress and very good at her job.

Can't remember exactly what he said but from memory I'm pretty sure Rachel was the only person he actually said he would love to be his Nancy - think he has some negative comments for all the others though. THINK he told Sam she lacked emotion in the second part of the song.

Jodie's reactionat being told she was in the final was so heartfelt whereas Jessie's was so arrogant. Notice how when two judges said they didn't want Jessie to be nancy....there was silence from the audience, no-one cared but when Jodie's name was mentioned, there wss outrage!!!! I know it's good to go out after a good performance (as Rachel's Cabaret was AMAZING) but it seems such a shame, especially since this show votes out the 'worst' competitor. This week, Rachel was definitely not the worst.
As for this song, I thought she sang it far better than other Nancys have. I don't see anything wrong with directing it towards Andrew's decision, that was exactly what she should've done! She wants to prove that she could've won, and show ALW what he's missing out on.

This farewell performance by Rachel just proves that she would have made a fantastic Nancy. Her performance of Cabaret was absoloutely amazing. Its outrageous that she lost out to Samantha....although Sam has an amazing voice she is nowhere near as talented as Rachel.

I didn't like this last song. People kept saying Niamh's I'm Sure He Needs Me is weak - Rachel's one is far too breathless. I thought she was going to break down in tears before she sings, when she started the song so late! The latter half of the song was all right, but the "he" in "as long as he needs me" in the last bit was terribly out of tune (just one word though, nevermind :))I thought Rachel was a pretty strong contender, much stronger than Jodie and Jessie anyway.

Nancy has literally just been smacked across the face and humiliated by the man she loves! Rachel is the ONLY contender in this whole joke of a competition that has sung As Long As He Needs as Nancy. (I do think, however, the end of the song was aimed at ALW.) Rachel was too clever by half for this competition.

Well im sayin that Sam was TO pretty bc lyk she sorta seems kinda perfect (which is a pain in the ass bc she lyk smiles whenever rachel says bye) but i never really lykd Sam bt lyk no doubt she was good its jst she seemed 2 try n be 2 perfect. But lyk Niamh, Jessie and Rachel are all really pretty! Lyk they r all hot! But I think Jodie was lyk amazing! And she supposidly lost lyk LOADS of weight over the show n she had a pretty face i thought!

Jodie's 'As Long As He Needs Me' was absolutely awful, and probably scared the life out of Cameron Macintosh!!!! Her 'Needs' lasts about 3 seconds and sounds strained and wobbly. How anyone can even put Rachel and Jodie in the same league is amazing! Rachel's performance was strong, heartbreaking, powerful and emotional. She had an excuse to deliver a poor performance: her dream had been snatched away from her. Jodie on the other hand had made it and should have rocked it! Rachel = FABULOUS!

Jodie's last ALAHNM isn't that great but that was because she was in a state of shock. I think Rachel should have been in the finale but I still wanted Jodie to win and she did!

Im not saying that Rachel isnt a good performer she was great and she will make a fantastic west end star I just dont think she was right for Nancy and she looks desperate and manic and if you look at the others they go up the stairs once the locket is off but she just stands there asif to say I should be here. Yeah, I agree that Sarah would have made a great Nancy, or Niamh. Rachel's great but I've never exactly been a big fan, don't know why though. However its nice to see that she's putting her newfound fame to good use by helping charities back home. =)

Rachel was the best singer, and the best actress - I love the warmth and passion in her voice.
Fake? Acting on TV is much different to acting on a stage, and she was the only one who got that.
Rachel deserved the part, but it was a popularity contest, and she was more reserved than the other girls. Jodie got the sympathy vote, which was why she won.

Jodie is really talented. It's very unfair to suggest that she only won out of sympathy - for what, exactly?
Personally, I could never warm to Rachel. She never convinced me that she was mega-talented or the best person for the part. Even here, I felt like she was shouting more than singing or putting the emotion across.

From show 1 I thought Rachel was totally FAKE with all her mannerisms. Whenever she sang, moved, spoke or even just looked at the camera she seems insincere. The three finalists were all fresh and sincere without any of Rachels diva antics and awful cliche mannerisms. She plays emotion, she does not FEEL them.

this was amazing....she totally made it hers and changed it to basically say 'you totally shouldnt have got rid of me' if i had it my way it would be Rachel, Sarah and Jodie in the final.....jessie and sam shouldn't be there in my opinion.

Rachels a fantastic all-round performer, and she isn't as polished as they say- she grew up in Belfast, left the country, has been around a good while fighting for her dream,etc. So she could have showed the gritty side, but I'm glad Sam was saved instead. Her talents more raw, and IMO her voice is easier to listen to- Rachel had a tendancy to go a wee bit OTT,but only coz she wanted it so much.
However, I still firmly believe that Niamh should have been Nancy- she was in a league of her own.

The only reason ALW sent her home was because the public didn't like her. I mean this was her third time in the bottom two even though she did a stunning performance. She didn't stand a chance in the finale. Jodie to Win!!!!

No way is Rachel over the top. Everyone else is UNDER-performing. Good stagecraft is completely different to acting for TV. Rachel is a professional stage actress and very good at her job.

she was the best nancy (apart form niamh) she was good allround at singing and dancing the others that are left need work rachel was ready for the part! so she should not have gone! but unfortunatly people see who they like no who wold be good for the part which is really stupid as we will probably have jodie as nancy who is a bloody show girl! or jessie who cant do cockney or act very well!

Is this true?? Where did u hear this? I really hope it's true! :-) Good for Rachel, not accepting understudy...why would she want to understudy a Nancy inferior to her own?! Also, I didn't realise Mackintosh was peed off...I'd been under the impression that he wanted Sam! Clearly the panel do. Anyway, thanks for the info...look forward to finding out what show Rachel ends up in (she'd make an amazing Velma Kelly or Roxie Hart in Chicago).

Can't remember exactly what he said but from memory I'm pretty sure Rachel was the only person he actually said he would love to be his Nancy - think he has some negative comments for all the others though. THINK he told Sam she lacked emotion in the second part of the song.
Might be corrected though! :-D
I deff though he didn't look happy when the camera went to him after ALW picked Sam, I know I wouldn't have been!!

Jodie's reactionat being told she was in the final was so heartfelt whereas Jessie's was so arrogant. Notice how when two judges said they didn't want Jessie to be nancy....there was silence from the audience, no-one cared but when Jodie's name was mentioned, there wss outrage!!!! P.S Rachel...best sing-off so far, it was truly heartbreaking

aw,i am still in shock rachel's gone!:( wth like,she deserved t stay way more than sam!! grr alw! worst.decision.ever! she was by far the best left in the competition and much more suited t play nancy than sam! she gave a knock-out performance of cabaret and was the best actress there! my fave from the start along with niamh!<3 so disappointed neither will be in the final now! wat a joke!..chin up rachel~ur gonna go far&i'll definately go see any show with u as leading lady! in a word~star! :D

I know it's good to go out after a good performance (as Rachel's Cabaret was AMAZING) but it seems such a shame, especially since this show votes out the 'worst' competitor. This week, Rachel was definitely not the worst.
As for this song, I thought she sang it far better than other Nancys have. I don't see anything wrong with directing it towards Andrew's decision, that was exactly what she should've done! She wants to prove that she could've won, and show ALW what he's missing out on.

This farewell performance by Rachel just proves that she would have made a fantastic Nancy. Her performance of Cabaret was absoloutely amazing. Its outrageous that she lost out to Samantha....although Sam has an amazing voice she is nowhere near as talented as Rachel.

You could see how much she wanted it more than Sam and Sam doesn't really deserve it as much.
When you see Jodie & Jessie though, you can tell they want it so much, so I hope one of them wins.
Overall, I'm voting for Jessie, she gives me goosebumps every week :)

I didn't like this last song. People kept saying Niamh's I'm Sure He Needs Me is weak - Rachel's one is far too breathless. I thought she was going to break down in tears before she sings, when she started the song so late! The latter half of the song was all right, but the "he" in "as long as he needs me" in the last bit was terribly out of tune (just one word though, nevermind :))I thought Rachel was a pretty strong contender, much stronger than Jodie and Jessie anyway.
