  • As a 40 year old white guy who grew up with "advantages", so to speak, you might think I'm the prototypical "Jalen-hater" that's come out of the woodwork since the Fab 5 documentary. Not at all. Not only does Jalen speak his mind, but he does so with a level of insight and transparency that's refreshing. Anyone can "keep it real", but very few can do so with the level of context and insightfulness Jalen provides. Well done and keep it up, Jalen.

  • You never hear the whole story. I mean, I'm sure he deals with emotional problems cause of his father, but he hides it well here. "My life is perfect now." I mean, what else can you do. You ain't gonna ask for help over live national tv...

  • @tpstrat14 He's clearly come to peace with himself. I understand what you're trying to say but I think for him any negative feelings he has are outweighed by the positives. He's got pride in himself.

  • Nice story,Jalen has his head on straight.Watched Jimmy Walker play in college from 1964 to 1967 at Providence.Still have season tickets.Have seen hundreds of great players.Walker was the best I've ever seen.First player to dribble between his legs, spin dribble. He was 6'3 220 lbs.Big,strong.Averaged 30 a game.first team all america.People would chant Walk,Walk,Walk when he brought the ball up court.

  • @mailman8601 He was being compared with Oscar Robertson when he played in the NBA

  • watching this in tears as it registers with me. my father left when i was 6 and my lil bro n sis (twins) were infants. i knew him but they didn't. they only saw him 1nc in 22 yrs and our father passed back in Nov...my lil bro made a comment about being angry with our dad bcz he left. i tried 2 find a way 2 reach him but couldnt. GLAD I FOUND THIS cuz i am going 2 show it 2 him...THANX JALEN! this is a GREAT EXAMPLE that bitterness n anger doesnt have 2 consume ur entire life

  • Much respect to you brother J, I wish all young brothersl isten to your story, and draw something postive from a bad situation !

  • Hi jalen , can you talk about your time at the BIG SO ...Coach Perry Watson,, and growning up on the southwest side of Detroit !

    Tony ( SW D" )

  • nice...

  • This is so very deep. His poise when speaking about all of it is admirable...

  • Heavy stuff, Jalen. Much respect to you for telling your story and having the strength to forgive and let go of past wrongs. It's a lesson a lot of us could stand to learn in our own lives.

  • Great player and person.

  • jalen knows about playing people that are older than you too, thats how the best players get made-always playing at the highest level they can.

  • Good story, now we know where Jalen got his skills from. Jalen's a class act.

  • "Rest in peace." That was hard for Jalen to say. Damn, powerful speech, Jalen. I actually did that when I was young (well, at 23, can't "young"). Used to do that. Just do anything opposite of what my father did just to spite him. So much bitterness you have to get rid of.
