so i just moved in with my friend and her ex set up dd-wrt on her linksys previously, but now everyone that lives here can't connect to her wireless internet even with the correct passphrase. i'm on the web GUI looking for how to connect the laptops, i assume theres a spot to put in the IP/mac addresses in order to allow them to connect? but i can't find it. any help would be appreciated, it should be an easy fix i just cant find it and im getting frustrated lol thanks

Very well done video, love the toys you have there. I have a older verson of DD-WRT (love it) but it's DD-WRT v24 RC-6 (01/02/08) std, Very old now I know... I have the WRT54GS 1.1 32mb/8mb flash. I want to load on dd-wrt.v24_mega_generic.bin (I assume the mega_generic will do it all VOIP etc.etc).
Down to the install question, I Just have to do a 30-30-30 reset and then load that new bin from the administrator upgrade option followed by a 30-30-30 and I'm good to go?
@beercap007 If you already have DD-WRT on the router, you should be able to just load the new firmware through the browser interface. but double check dd-wrt's website.

@BMXFREAK010 You have to make sure the version you download is compatible with the router. Also it may be an issue with the browser you are using. When I made this video, IE was required to do the upgrade.
@spast1k I use a wireless bridge to connect multiple devices that do not have Wi-Fi into the wireless network. So I don't have to run cables all over the place. with the new 802.11n the speeds are quite good, and I see no issues with network latency across my house.

@oramn, you need to open ports for CS and have a Dedicated Server via the Source Dedicated Servers tool and have it on 24/7 if you want a server on all the time.
@oramn Your internet IP address is assigned by your ISP, you have no control over that. You may be able to get a static IP address. Ask your ISP if it is possible. sometimes it costs a few bucks, others it's NOT available.
Doesn't the steps suggest turning off firewalls. disable these things and do it offline?

Very nice! I was able to flash my wrt-54gs v4 within a matter of minutes. I've been putting it off for weeks loathing possibly bricking one of my routers, but that was quite straight forward. I'll be checkin in with RTW and subscribing. Thanks man.
Use ONLY Internet Explorer 7 if you're going to flash your router. Especially on routers with Broadcom chipsets (mine's a Linksys wrt300n, removed the pile-o-shit firmware with DD) It seems that DD-WRT doesn't like Firefox 3.5/Google Chrome when I first tried flashing, but then it worked on IE.
Go to the DD-WRT's forums and look for their "Peacock" thread, it's all there. If not, ask a question or two.
I guy I know had a couple of these and he said it had a custom firmware on it and wanted it set back to factory, it took me a while to figure it out but I got the linksys firmware back on it.
They had openwrt on it, they were used in a business but he wanted to use them for home use and he had no idea what firmware was on it to begin with so he didn't know about the CLI. He's not a very technical person and the firmware that was on it would be confusing to him.

Very nice! I was able to flash my wrt-54gs v4 within a matter of minutes. I've been putting it off for weeks loathing possibly bricking one of my routers, but that was quite straight forward. I'll be checkin in with RTW and subscribing. Thanks man.

Use ONLY Internet Explorer 7 if you're going to flash your router. Especially on routers with Broadcom chipsets (mine's a Linksys wrt300n, removed the pile-o-shit firmware with DD) It seems that DD-WRT doesn't like Firefox 3.5/Google Chrome when I first tried flashing, but then it worked on IE.
Go to the DD-WRT's forums and look for their "Peacock" thread, it's all there. If not, ask a question or two.

I guy I know had a couple of these and he said it had a custom firmware on it and wanted it set back to factory, it took me a while to figure it out but I got the linksys firmware back on it.

They had openwrt on it, they were used in a business but he wanted to use them for home use and he had no idea what firmware was on it to begin with so he didn't know about the CLI. He's not a very technical person and the firmware that was on it would be confusing to him.

while that router is not supported. It does have a bunch of the features, and for the low low price of WAY MORE THAN YOU WANT TO SPEND. it does a shoddy job at best.
tell me, does yours randomly lose it's configuration for no apparent reason. The one I had to work on did that almost every 3 months.
