  • My middle school is playing that this year for contest. The only difference is that the sax solo is really a cornet solo. We could've done the alto solo but we figured that the cornet would be better.

  • o my gosh i remember this jazz band. piano player #2 here

  • I would like to ask what playing your Keilworth shadow is like. I really would like to get one but money is an issue at the moment. Is it easy to play in regards to another saxophone? Is it comfortable in your hands, and comfortable to play? Can you really project sound with it? Please respond.

  • Projection is remarkably easy. It takes very little effort to produce a warm sound on any of the notes on this saxophone. I think it is comfortable to play, but even if you hold any other instrument for long enough it would feel accustom to you like this does me. Projecting a lot of sound is not as easy as with other saxophones because this one is lacquered and is intended for a more rich sound. Therefore it is tough to bring a louder sound than the student who could be sitting next to you.

  • @AltoSax250 i can assure you i could play this so much louder with perfect tone on my selmer

  • Let me say first off, You are quite a fine saxophone player. I too play saxophone(Tenor though =) )and I must say you have one of the best tones I have ever heard from a 14 year old. Only suggestion is like another commented, add some vibratos in here and there, but even still without them you preformed amazing. If you sticking with saxophone, Im sure there will be nothing but good things coming ahead to you. An outstanding performance. I assume you got straight superior that year =) good luck.

  • Thank you very much for the compliments and advice! my very latest of this song performance is the first video that comes up on my profile. I attempted to use vibrato in the most recent one and I think it is the best of the two. Check it out!

  • Aloha! Great performance, wonderful song and Kevin you are a rising star. I'm a fan in waiting - and like fine wine you will just get better with age! Keep it up and keep music ALIVE! It's language with no boundaries! Very promising Kevin!

  • awsome Kevin!!!

I was one of the trombones in the band

  • The entire band is what makes this song awesome, not to mention Mrs. Carr. I love when the brass section kicks in full gear, And the rythm section is the best.

  • Nice job Kevin... and was that Andrew Hj in the back playing the bass guitar?? You guys sounded awesome!

  • Yes, that's the man

  • small band...

  • The solo was right on. Good time, good tone quality and intonation. Good job overall, Kevin.

  • learn vibrato. it was ok.

  • In this selection, the band director preferred no vibrato. And while vibrato is synonymous with sax, I believe for this selection the band director was correct.

  • Great Job Kev

  • dude its nemanja. it still gives me shivers when i hear it

plus my aweomse little trumpet part

  • you should see the song we did in state it's way better. but i need to post that so it's not on yet.

  • kk well post it soon. iwant to c it

  • Jazz one kinda went down the pooper after '05. The kids are good but not near what it use to be when Hankins was there. Now they're just another middle school band.... damn.

  • Go, Kevin!

  • What an amazing and incredible musician you are. I give this young man a 5++++. You are off the charts in my ratings!!:)
