    Komowoyo^^

  • @DUbuJinki Thanks DubuJinki, I'm translating your comment : "I really like it~ it's so delicious ~ <3, thank you^^"

  • Found the EXACT same ones in a local SPAR store in the UK. Their Kimchi and Chapagetti ones are also delicious but I prefer the Tonkotsu-flavoured Nissin option.

  • This is basically just cooked instant noodles lol...

  • @kimtsan It is a type of instant noodle. But there are many types of noodles. Maybe there is a pre-cooked western noodle that comes with tomato sauce in the package and people call it instant noodle.

  • @sobzritenow I try to find it but I couldnt . Can u tell me the company name of it?

  • Is there any Korean or japanese ramyun that is not spicy cuz I can't eat spicy food?

  • @khmerAZNet yea there is. just make sure the packet doesn't say "spicy" on it ;]

  • @khmerAZNet usually korean ramyun is spicy but japanese isnt. try sapporo ramen they have beef, chicken, etc flavoured ramens!

  • How about boil the water first instead of cutting the veggies and preparing the egg..It saves time you know. I also suggest you make the broth first and THEN add the ricecakes and noodles. The noodles can absorb the broth better that way and will taste better. I will try your way of adding the egg though. I've never tried that before myself. I usually separately fry the egg.

  • May I suggest a larger pot next time? =)

  • Wow u r so neat

  • whenever i put an egg in my ramen is curdles is that normal?

  • That leek reminds me of Hatsune Miku.

  • if you want to wip your cream, ask her to

  • regardless that its teaching us how to cook instant ramen, it sure looks yummy! especially at 2:42 mark! :D

  • Every Koreans know how to do this. It's in our blood~

  • looks like Ichiban noodles...... imma use that....now go eat ma lunch :3

  • sounds like amoria music in maplestory.

  • where can I get HD Ramyeon?

  • a question...whats so hard about making instance noodle?

  • Korean Ramyeon is very various and taste!

  • It's all about "how you like it."Like shinely said...the broth will come out less spicy, thickened...with the consistency similar to egg drop soup. Everyone has their own special recipe...it's like hamburgers, pizza or sandwiches...an infinite amount of ingredient combinations and cooking techniques work..experiment & tweak 2 ur taste buds~

    - some ideas: pork, canned tuna, sausages, shredded chicken meat, spam, lunch meat, fish cakes, cilantro, tofu..etc..pimp your ramen the way you want it~

  • 1.4 million...troops

  • Shin Ramyeon is the most popular brand in South Korea. I'm Korean and 99% of the time - if I have a choice - I will have S.R. Shin means 'spicy' and the Chinese character on the packaging stands for hot or spicy. A lot of people actually add hot chiles to make the ramen spicier - myself included!^^

  • Nice vid. Here's my take on ramen..Korean style.

    1. put seasoning in w/ water at the beginning.

    a) seasoning has lots of sodium. will speed up the cooking time, making the

    water reach boiling temp. faster.

    b) seasons the noodles so they're not bland, even if eaten separately w/out broth. (like seasoning water when cooking pasta)

    2. put in the noodles after the broth is boiling.

    a) again speeds up the cooking time. Anytime anything is added to broth, the added ingredient will bring down temp.

  • b) doing this will add more flavor to the noodles and prevent them from being overcooked, having absolutely no bite n texture...but some people prefer noodles xtra mushy n soft~

    3. put in a fourth less water than advised on packet.

    a) speeds up the process. don't need as much water as is suggested b/c the cooking time is shortened. If you put in the written amount of water, the noodles and broth will be bland.

    b) cook for 1min. 30 sec. (al dente)

  • 4. cooking for 1 min. 30 sec. is sufficient.

    - residual heat from broth will cook the noodles even more while you prepare to dig in and while you're eating.

    - If the noodles are cooked 100%, they will be too mushy to enjoy by the time you eat, or at least after a couple slurps.

    5. Have all your stuff (bowl, chopsticks, drinks, condiments, etc.) ready so the noodles can be eaten directly after you've turned off the stove.

    - like stated above the noodles will overcook and absorb too much broth.

  • please do a video on how to make kimchi! :)

  • No fish cake?

  • MMYUHMMI.

  • I am a Korean who ate Ramyeon for a decade but never cooked as complicated as this lol but this is the better way to enjoy it

  • it looks sooooooo delicious :) miiiiiaaaam <3<3<3

  • korean ramen is the best!! spicy and lots of flavor especially with kimchi~!!!

  • @TomoexNanami Don’t forget to try adding leftover veggies, cheese, sliced rice cake or whatever you can find in your fridge to dress it up a bit; then make lots of slurping noise as you enjoy every bite of it!!!

  • @TomoexNanami nah, Kimchi is a completely different taste. It doesn't go well with Korean ramen.

  • @dookiekong007 thats ur preference

  • @TomoexNanami well, what it goes extremely well is asian pulled pork and rice. Yummm

  • Great video! As a Korean, this is awesome :D What video editing program did you use to make this video?

  • i just pour some hot water into a bowl and put a napkin on the top :(

  • owwwwwwww that really looks delicious i wanna give it a try :d

  • lmao i laffed really hard when the noodle didnt fit in the pot.... :$

  • I'll try it right now, thanks... Looks tasty.

  • gee lol, i thought you were cracking an already boiled egg XD

  • SHIN RAMYUN YESS Spiciest ramen ever!!!! go koreans!!! im white btw lol

  • man i'm hungry ?!

  • are you white?

  • many people confuse south korea and north korea

SOUTH korea is open mind, democracy and industrialized country

NORTH korea is just dark, communist and poor country

  • Isn't Shin Ramyeon is better than that one??? I eat Shin Ramyeon all the time and couldnt find ani that spicier than it!

2nd. That egg is yellow but not orange???

    Korean egg??? O_O

  • Did I just watch a tutorial on how to add toppings to instant ramen? :O

  • @qaiex yep...

  • Comment removed

  • NEOGURI is #1

  • Ramen for dummies? You need a bigger pot. The music keep me watching.

  • do you really need a tutorial for cooking ramen...

  • @djos3 why not? can't hurt anyone...everyone has their own take on ramen. Japanese and Koreans are crazy about ramen, whether it's made from scratch or instant. There are soo many ways you can improve on the instant varieties. And believe it or not, a surprising amount of people can't "cook" instant ramen - or cook it well consistently.

  • An easy way to make ramen is actually to microwave a microwave-safe bowl with warm water in it for 3-3.5 minutes, the water should be boiling and will cool down easily, then add ramen, the soup base, etc.

  • @SamTheEpic2000 Nice! The laziest way to make ramen is to boil it in the packaging^^. Any Korean male that did their mandatory stint in the military has done it.

    1. take out contents. (careful when opening package..open cleanly at the top.)

    2. crack noodle brick into 4 pieces.

    3. pour in seasoning n' dry contents in package.

    4. pour in boiling water. (3/4 full or not quite 3/4...enough to submerge noodle bricks)

    5. clamp or tie w/ twisty

    6. prop against wall, wait for 3 mins.

    7. enjoy

    no dishes

  • i usually eat 2 packets of shin ramyun. Like me if u think that you like me.

  • Debak

    thank u

  • kimchi with shin ramyun is heaven <3

  • oooooh shibal'

  • nice

  • lol thumbzzzzz up if you thought that egg was cooked at the biginning ;)

  • Cook approx. 3 min after you've put in the noodle. You can also check the cook time as indicated with a stopwatch at the bottom of the video. :)

  • @olmlm I am pure Korean, i always put noodle first (before soup base). If you put soup base first, it will taste like something is missing. Ive tried this over hundred times. Please, don't give out fault info.

  • @xp231000 You wouldn't know sarcasm if it slapped you in the fuckin' face...dipshit...

  • cudnt help but notice that the stove is dirty. It bugs me.

  • to me, Neuguri or Odongdongmyeon is the best :D

  • @olmlm Oooooo u moded her lul

  • hahahah...seriously? i thought this vid is going to teach us how to cook a REAL ramyun...hahahah..who would need to google how to cook an instant noodle anyways? anyhow...ramyun's are GREAT..i dnt even have to be korean to like it..^^

  • @olmlm ummm...my husband is a real Korean and dont put the soup 1st ...lol

  • Can see a person who made this noodle must b very organise.. Chin chin..^_^ love it

  • is that all you guy are eating?

  • I watched chocolate rain before this video so thats all i hear right now.

  • 1:10 speed hack

  • The additives really do make a difference from eating regular ramen. It's like upgrading from a poor college kid to a healthy poor college kid.

  • @xkzonstr haha yeah and if you want to be health conscious you can boil the noodles first and then when the noodles are done, take them out and rinse them with cold water and then add them back into pot and cook with the soup base. Washing the noodles cuts the calorie intake of ramen by half. :D

  • @tea4al wow! Why?

  • @ALXVid101 ramen noodles are coated in oil because they are fried. So by cooking the noodles separately as well as rinsing it with cold water (to make it even more chewy and delicious), you get rid of the high calorie oil and have a low calorie ramen without the loss of any flavor :D

  • @tea4al Very useful, thanks

  • @tea4al nice tip. I know a owner/ chef of a Japanese restaurant who does this to make ramen at home for his kids. Plunging noodles in an ice bath adds more elasticity. So does lifting the noodles out of the broth and plunging them back in repeatedly, while cooking. (If you can handle the work^^.) If you wanna go fanatical or Obsessive Compulsive with your ramen, there are all kinds of tricks or ways of pimping your meal^^.

  • @ALXVid101 but make sure you boil the noodles separately and discard the water they were boiled in. Boil new water and add the soup package and then add the noodles at the last minute so the noodles don't overcook :D

  • @tea4al According to which genius?

  • @reenajit according to the Dieticians well as doctors in Korea and the Food and Science researchers at universities as well as the Ramen Company representative during the Ramen Cooking Competition held in KBS for the show A Man's Worth.

  • wow! I havent seen a white egg in ages! :P no joke, we get them from my anuties! :D

  • wow, that is one fresh egg

  • I hate ramen that comes as a block :( why can't they give them as they are, like as noodles!?!? so annoying having to sit their and boil them perfectly to break them apart without overboiling them.

  • @supah1337B In Korea and Japan ramen w/ fresh noodles are sold in supermarkets. However, they're twice as expansive and have a short shelf-life. Also the fresh variety has a diff. taste n' texture. Most people prefer 'brick ramen' because it's cheap, has a long shelf-life and doesn't have to be refrigerated, and they like the texture of the dry noodles~

  • I watched this while I was hungry which isn't always a good idea when your mom is hungry too n can see the screen. She doesn't even like japenese food n was craving it lol.

  • sounds like music from the old Sims game

  • Kimchi doesn't really go well with their ramen.

  • @dookiekong007

koreans like to eat everything with kimuchi as far as i know

  • Damn, the closest Asian supermarket from my house is miles away. :( Makes me wanna run over there and buy some stuff though :D

  • How much water is used?

  • @SlightlyVital try for 2 cups

  • Looks so good...

  • This is just instant noodles, not ramen..If you ever had real ramen you'll know the difference between it.

  • @0zalarfTheGreat that's funny, 'cause when I eat ramen in Korea, it is always INSTANT RAMEN. that's what they like in Korea. maybe you should eat it there before saying this

  • @CapLysander that's funny because I'm japanese where "ramen" first orginated from. Maybe you should eat it where it first orginated from before saying this.

  • @0zalarfTheGreat This argument is pointless. The fact that a dish originated in one country doesn't make it better than one reinterpreted in another nation. People obsess of origin and authenticity. The point of consuming food is a) for sustenance b) for pleasure. If you want to be anal and knock everyone's version of ramen as being inferior because it's not Japanese and thus inauthentic, you might as well say that ramen or all noodle dishes are substandard knock-offs of Chinese noodles.

  • @paul81079 Foo! You're putting words in my mouth! You're veering the conversation and completely changing the subject. If you say that the "argument is pointless." Why even bother! You obviously lack coherent skills, and I could care less what you like. I am simply stating that I know what TRUE ramen is. Don't come at me with a low-blow statement. Next time, be more cogent with you're statement than something that's contemptible.

  • @0zalarfTheGreat Hey Ozalarf. China has the oldest culinary history. Most noodle or dumpling dishes originated from China. They invented them. So It could be said that present day Italian, Japanese and Korean noodle dishes are spinoffs of Chinese ones. Noodles and dumplings were passed on through the silk road. Ramen is the Japanese version of Chinese lamian. Lamian are hand-made or hand-pulled noodles.

  • @paul81079 No, Mexico is the actual originator of noodles. From the Aliens that crash landed in the Yucatan Peninsula. Ever wonder why there's a massive crater there? They made a giant bowl ramen where they crash landed. They imported the broth from their home planet and used our animals as the meat they put in our ramen. It's really quite amazing, archaeologists from all around the world have discovered trace elements of substances not found on our planet. Amazing right?!

  • @0zalarfTheGreat dude dont drag us into your BS fight...

  • @clarita311 I wouldn't say "BS" I'd say, sarcasm. Due to the fact how this has gone onto a meaningless series of contention. Don't take me serious. If it helps, i'm Mexican/Japanese/German if even care what I am.

  • You really should learn the facts before you try to speak about such a delicate subject on the internet.

  • Respond to this video... Again I would ask you to refrain from personal attacks. You don't talk to people like this do you? Being online doesn't give you the right to act like an ass. I'm not veering the conversation, nor do I lack coherent skills. I am stating my opinion and backing my points with facts; while you failed to do so. Who's dishing out "low-blow statements?" Me or you?

  • Respond to this video... You haven't posted a single fact. Your nationality and having had Japanese ramen in Japan doesn't make your points more credible. That's like me saying: I am Korean. I have had Korean ramen in Korea. Korean ramen is the real ramen. Ramen originated in Korea. Look at the two words lamian and ramen. Isn't there an unmistakable similarity? Lamian came first.

  • Respond to this video... If you do the research you will find that most reliable sources will state that lamian was the precursor to Japanese ramen. I don't consider wikipedia the definitive word on cuisine history, but here are some excerpts that are interesting.

    1) "Lamian was introduced in the Chinatowns of Kobe or Yokohama during the Meiji era."

    2) "Ramen is of Chinese origin."

  • Comment removed

  • 3) Until the 1950s, ramen was called shina soba (支那そば, literally "Chinese buckwheat noodle") but today chūka soba (中華そば, also meaning "Chinese buckwheat noodle") or just Ramen (ラーメン) are more common, as the word "支那" (shina, meaning "China") is considered offensive by many.

Here is my argument. 1) Chinese invented noodles. 2) Chinese expats living in Japan brought their cuisine with them. 3) Japanese reinterpreted lamian into ramen. 4) Japanese ramen is fusion food and not authentic.

  • 5) Any nations take on ramen is just as "authentic" and tasty. 6) Origin and authenticity is overrated and does not determine whether a dish more or less pleasing. Taste is subjective.

  • In Korea we make a distinction between Japanese style and Korean ramen. It's even spelled and pronounced different. Japanese ramen: 라멘. Korean ramen: 라면. And the disparity between the two is common knowledge. You don't have to be a "foodie" to know the difference. No one's palate is superior or inferior. It's all a matter of preference. Everyone has idiosyncratic taste buds that crave for certain flavors. And a lot has to do with what you grew up on.

  • Listen to Grant Achatz on youtube elucidate his "pancake theory." If you eat something and it tastes good. It is good. If it is your favorite. It is "the best." That 30 cent instant ramen with no extras thrown in and bought from the supermarket is just as tasty as fresh hand-rolled and cut lamian with a broth made from free range, organic, sustainable livestock or poultry if that's what you like. In closing, the argument is pointless.

  • @CapLysander that's also funny because I'm in Japan often, it is different, I know THATS WHY THIS IS KOREAN RAMEN!!!!! gosh don't you get it? Koreans like INSTANT RAMEN!

  • @CapLysander Korean ramen is different but equally as tasty. We like our instant spicy ramen. You guys prefer yours with fresh noodles and a richer, meaty broth. Both are good. Sometimes I crave Jap. style ramen; other times I'll want Kor. style ramen. Everyone's palate is different.

  • Whats the egg for if you're going to just mix it up with the soup?

  • how long should you cook the rice cake before putting the noodle??

  • Doesn't really matter. They go soft really quick no matter what you do..and that's the preferred texture. But here are some things to keep in mind. Putting them in early..pros & cons

1)soaks up more flavor into the cakes.

2)soaks up more water. there will be less broth to enjoy.

3)dependent on quantity of cakes and cooking time, while making the cakes more savory, may slightly dilute broth. that much more seasoning is getting sucked into the cakes.not really an issue if ur making 1bowl though

  • @423goku lol are you blind? You can see the timer on the bottom which indicates only minutes have passed. You cook for 3 hours then the noodles will soak up all the water and stick to the pot.

  • uhmmmmm...yummy!

  • holy shit 1:10 dont mess with korean 0_o pro :O

  • I just read an article where it states that noodles have this wax on it that is toxic to our body, if we consume a lot of it. Therefore, boil some water, put the noodles in and stir it around first. Then get rid of that water and put the noodles in the soup...this will get rid of the toxic wax that is used.

  • @RareJadeForest06

Can you send me the link to the article in a private message please?

  • @ViciousRanger Oh I don't have that anymore sorry.

  • @RareJadeForest06 Never heard of that. But instant anything isn't exactly the healthiest food option. Ramen is fast food. It's a quick, cheap, decadent snack. It's spicy, salty and high in empty calories and fat. Eat one packet and you've surpassed the recommended sodium intake for the day~^^

  • @paul81079 Well maybe you should read more or be more educated. And no shit instant noodles isn't healthy. I'm not that stupid. I wasn't even talking to you and I never asked you whether it's healthy or not. There's a lot of things that are unhealthy but ppl still eat it like soda, french fries and etc. You're

  • Hi RareJade. Thank you for contributing to these posts. Discussion is always good. That's what the internet was initially made for. I studied English literature for years and consider myself somewhat well-read, but I may be wrong^^. I never called you stupid. I'm sorry if I offended you. That wasn't my intention. We both agree that instant ramen isn't the healthiest thing in the world to eat. But it tastes so good! I think we both can say that we are quite passionate about ramen!

  • nice...hot..and...spicy...oh..yeah....

  • Even better than mama!

  • Nice~

    잘 보고 갑니다.

  • Question: What is Kimchi pickled/seasoned with? I always see some kind of red powder being shoved inbetween the cabbage leaves, what is it?

  • @geowhit88 that's called Kimchi.

  • @geowhit88 gochugalu...basically dried, red, korean chiles that are finely ground into a powder...on a scale of 1-10, I read that they were like a 6??..which is hotter than a jalapeno and similar to the heat of a red or green serrano chile. Simply put ....red chile powder~

  • @paul81079 so does that mean all kimchi is spicy because of that powder or is there a not-as-spicy version of the powder?

  • Gonna given this a shot TOMMOROW! Looks Great! :)

  • 1:00-1:13

  • @zcg3 South, I dont think much people in North Korea can get a camera and film for youtube for fun

  • @zcg3 North Korean most likely don't even know what YouTube is..

  • @506knots That's a bit insulting, don't you think?

  • @506knots Yeah, but they know what a Nuclear YouTube is...ha ha

  • @506knots

So mean and funny at the same time!

  • @506knots lool hahah good answer

  • @506knots hahaha really!?

  • @506knots is the rice cake the same thing for deobokki or however you spell it?

  • @dookiekong007 yup same thing~ ...

  • @zcg3 -_-

  • @zcg3 Dumbass....

  • @rikku25869 Stinkin' cocksucker...

  • @zcg3 North Korean I think.. they have good ramyun

  • @zcg3 its north korean.... ofcoz ...what did u think it was south ?

  • @tenjinnim ba, ba, ba, but...what if it's from the border dividing north & south. Did ya ever think of that?

  • @zcg3 u didnt get the joke did u ??

  • @zcg3 Remember we aided the South Koreans in Vietnam. North Koreans don't even have the right to use a computer.

  • @Anthony883 why can't they use computers (I feel stupid asking this lol)

  • @Angel474989 no its just that north koreans dont know youtube...i think there blocked or something

  • @Anthony883 yall did O.O

  • @Anthony883

They did launch an internet connection years ago and and they do have the right to use phones and cellphones . They're not as free as the south but that doesn't mean "they don't have the right to use a computer" . Read before you make such a stupid claim and lay off oprah and the other crappy shows , I swear when I saw her so called report about North Korea , I wanted to hit her with her own fist .

  • @Anthony883 Umm...a little off. S. Koreans assisted Americans fighting in Vietnam. Americans aided South Koreans in the Korean War...so we were obliged to help out in Vietnam. While both our country's initial intentions may have been applaudable, shame on both nations for ravaging a country without taking full responsibility for the lamentable end result.

  • @Anthony883 Vietnamese have a different name for the war you and I are talking about. When they say Vietnam War, they refer to the civil war inclusive of only North and South Vietnam, which precluded the war non-natives call "The Vietnam War." The latter is called "Resistance War Against America." In addition, America committed 1.4 plus soldiers; S. Korea sent close to 50 thousand troops. The US initiated involvement and had the largest role...S.K. clearly supported the US military.

  • @zcg3 let alone not knowing what youtube is, civilians dont have access to youtube or the internet.

  • @zcg3 Why so many negative votes?? I fcking laughed LOLOL ..he can't be serious...........
